Miljömässig marknadsföring och dess påverkan på Word of Mouth : Skillanden mellan marknadsföringsstrategierna greenwashing, vocal green, silent brown och silent green

Lindh, Adam, Persson, Cecilia January 2018 (has links)
Titel: Miljömässig marknadsföring och dess påverkan på Word of Mouth – Skillnaden mellan marknadsföringsstrategierna greenwashing, vocal green, silent brown och silent green. Nivå: C-uppsats i ämnet företagsekonomi. Författare: Adam Lindh & Cecilia Persson. Handledare: Jonas Kågström. Datum: 2018 - Maj. Nyckelord: Organisationstypologi, greenwashing, vocal green, silent brown, silent green, word of mouth. / Title: The influence of green marketing on Word of Mouth – The difference among the marketing strategies greenwashing, vocal green, silent brown and silent green. Author: Adam Lindh & Cecilia Persson. Supervisor: Jonas Kågström. Date: 2018 - Maj. Aim: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence of green marketing on consumers WoM by Delmas and Burbano’s organization typology. Method: A quasi-experiment was conducted. Four marketing strategies were developed for a fictitious product by Delmas and Burbano’s organization typology. Four comparison groups were used to test these marketing strategies against each other. A questionnaire was created for each strategy where the participants were presented with product information and product review of the fictitious product. The total number of participants amounted to 140 people distributed among the four groups. Result & Analysis: The results confirm that there are differences among Delmas and Burbano’s organization typology regarding WoM. The silent green- and vocal green groups generates higher WoM compared to the greenwashing- and silent brown groups. The results also display a difference between WoM and green WoM. This effect is mediated by perceived environmental performance. Contribution of the thesis: This study displays how green marketing affects consumers WoM by Delmas and Burbano’s organization typology. A definition of the concept environmental performance has been developed, something that was missing in previous research. Suggestions for future research: Since this study displays differences between WoM and green WoM, the cause of this phenomenon should be investigated. A macro perspective canbe applied to Delmas and Burbano’s organization typology which investigates real life organizations. Furthermore, the effects of legislations and sanctions on greenwashing should be a subject for further research. Keywords: Organization typology, greenwashing, vocal green, silent brown, silent green, word of mouth.

Silent Discos: The Quietest Claremont Party Ever

Kaplan, Rainie 01 January 2018 (has links)
I challenge quiet regulations within my own community, the Claremont University Consortium, by hosting two Silent Discos in culturally and explicitly quiet locations: the Honnold Mudd Library and the James Turrell Skyspace at Pomona College. Attempting to demonstrate Silent Disco’s ability to sonically adapt to quietly marked areas I recorded the sounds generated by these events and later amplified them in these culturally quiet locations. These Silent Discos embrace the given environment and sound limitations, while simultaneously accepting the popular modes of musical listening. By performing Silent Discos in the James Turrell Skyspace at Pomona College and the Honnold Mudd Library, I give the power to each individual to reduce noise pollution, while collectively listening to the same music as a group.

Budování institucí v postkonfliktních oblastech: Pátrání po legitimních institucích v Kosovu / Institution Building in Post-Conflict Areas: The Quest for Legitimate Institutions in Kosovo

Semenov, Andrej January 2020 (has links)
The pivotal argument of this thesis is that, due to specific circumstances, Kosovo operates as an EU protectorate. Firstly, the political status of Kosovo deeply divides the UN members, including the major powers, which makes unilateral decisions ineffective. This implies that neither side can achieve maximalist demands, and thus further negotiations are required. Secondly, both representatives of Kosovo and Serbia expressed hope that their future is in the EU. Both sides are ready to compromise their legal and/or political status and welcome a solution under the formula: Kosovo to be independent of Serbia even if it means that Kosovo is not a sovereign state; and, Serbia not to recognise Kosovo, even if it means that Serbia loses authority over the region. Thirdly, the great powers, led by the USA and Russia, decided that the conflict and the political status of Kosovo should be facilitated by the EU. This decision, accompanied by the ICJ decision that Kosovo's solution should be sought through the EU political channels, gives the EU role of a moral agent. Finally, while the EU protects Kosovo in international affairs, it also requires from Serbia to recognise Kosovo's institutions and local autonomy.

Silent Era adaptations of 19th and early 20th century Gothic novels with a special emphasis on psychological and aesthetic interpretations of the monster figure

Blakeney, Luda Katherine January 2016 (has links)
My research is centred around Silent Era films adapted from nineteenth and early twentieth century Gothic literature with a special emphasis on the figure of the monster and its translation from literary to cinematic form. The corpus I have assembled for the purposes of this analysis comprises sixty-six films made in ten different countries between 1897 and 1929. Many of these films are considered lost and I have endeavored to reconstruct them as much as possible using materials located in film archives. The Introduction lays out the ground covered in the thesis and provides a working definition of ‘monstrosity’ in this context. The first chapter deals with the historical, economic, cultural, social and technological contexts of the films under discussion. The second chapter approaches the eight literary monster figures who form the core of this thesis through the lens of Adaptation Theory. The third chapter examines the elements of cinematic language that were particularly relevant to translating monster characters and Gothic literary narratives into silent film, placing this corpus into the context of silent film history and theory. The fourth chapter reviews a cross-section of intermedial systems of classification that have been applied to monster figures, and proposes a new system that would reflect the multifarious nature of the silent film Gothic literary monster. Chapters Five through Nine offer a theoretical framework for classifying the principal characteristics of the silent film Gothic monster by applying various philosophical and aesthetic concepts. The final chapter summarises the material presented in earlier chapters and offers relevant conclusions demonstrating how these films employ the unique characteristics, conventions, and limitations of the silent film medium in their representations of the Gothic literary monster.
