Bakgrund: Cancer är idag en av de vanligaste dödsorsakerna och sjukdomen orsakar därav ett stort behov av palliativ vård. Då många obotligt sjuka patienter med cancer utrycker en önskan om att få spendera den sista tiden i livet hemma, råder det ett stort behov av sjuksköterskor som arbetar med palliativ hemsjukvård. Syfte: Att belysa sjuksköterskor inom hemsjukvårdens erfarenheter av att vårda patienter med cancer som erhåller palliativ vård i hemmet. Metod: En allmän litteraturstudie utfördes genom att tio vetenskapliga artiklar bearbetades i syfte att beskriva det aktuella kunskapsläget. Resultat: Två kategorier framkom ur resultatet: Erfarenheter av patienter och familjers behov av tillit, kunskap och stöd vid palliativ hemsjukvård och Erfarenheter av kunskapsbrist och teamsamverkan vid palliativ hemsjukvård. Enligt sjuksköterskorna framkom det att patienter och familjer hade en bristande tillit, förståelse och kunskap inom palliativ hemsjukvård. Stöd och kommunikation var avgörande faktorer för att uppnå en effektiv och god vård. Sjuksköterskorna ansåg dessutom att det fanns en avsaknad av kunskap kring palliativ omvårdnad och ett bristande samarbete mellan hälso- och sjukvårdsprofessioner samt inom sjuksköterskeprofessionen. Konklusion: Att vårda patienter i livets slut är komplext och ställer höga krav på sjuksköterskors kompetens. För att möta patienters önskan krävs det ytterligare kunskap, utbildning samt forskning kring palliativ hemsjukvård. / Background: Today, cancer is considered one of the most common causes of death, and the decease creates a great need of palliative care. Since many terminally ill patients with cancer express a wish to spend their final part of life in their homes, there is a need for nurses working with palliative home care. Aim: To explore experiences of nurses working within homecare, caring for patients with cancer receiving palliative care at home. Method: A general literature study was conducted by processing ten scientific articles to depict the current state of knowledge in the field. Results: Two categories were formed from the result: Experiences of patients and families' need for trust, knowledge and support in palliative home care and experiences of lacking knowledge and teamwork during palliative home care. According to the nurses, it emerged that patients and families lacked trust, understanding and knowledge in palliative home care. Support and communication were deciding factors in achieving efficient and satisfactory care. Additionally, nurses considered there needed to be more knowledge of palliative care and more cooperation between different healthcare professions, and the nurse profession. Conclusion: To care for patients during their last time of life is complex and puts high expectations on the competence of nurses. To meet the wish of patients, more knowledge, education and research is needed around palliative home care.
