Impact of Radio Frequency Identification Technology on the Construction for Smart Transportation

This research investigates how the new technology implementation in the transportation system in Hangzhou, China affected the work routines and the challenges reported by the managers of the system as well as their suggestions on improvements. Through the analysis of the interviews with the managers in the intelligent transportation system, the main effects of RFID on the development of intelligent transportation in Hangzhou were proposed. It also reveals the current status of RFID development in the intelligent transportation system, further proposes factors that affect the development of RFID, and reveals the core factors that affect the development of Hangzhou's intelligent transportation. This research can enrich the information management theory of the development of an intelligent transportation system, and have certain guidance and reference significance for the development of urban information system at the same time. In this study, through direct communication with the managers of the main intelligent transportation departments in Hangzhou, this research analyzes the influencing factors of the development of RFID in Hangzhou. Based on the analysis results, this research put forward the strategy of urban informatization development in Hangzhou. The researchhas certain practical significance for improving the overall development level of smart transportation in Hangzhou. The impact of RFID on the daily work of managers of intelligent transportation management departments has first improved the innovation of intelligent transportation. Second, improve management efficiency. Third, provide the management with more intelligence plans to solve the impact of eight aspects including transportation problems However, it can be seen from the results of encoding and passing that the senior managers' lack of awareness, including learning information technology, information management capabilities, and other factors, has led to insufficient application of RFID technology in the field of smart transportation in Hangzhou. In response to this phenomenon, three main suggestions were put forward, attach importance to infrastructure construction, improve the information literacy of grassroots employees, and increase the intensity of traffic information management in Hangzhou.

Policy-driven Security Management for Gateway-Oriented Reconfigurable Ecosystems

abstract: With the increasing user demand for low latency, elastic provisioning of computing resources coupled with ubiquitous and on-demand access to real-time data, cloud computing has emerged as a popular computing paradigm to meet growing user demands. However, with the introduction and rising use of wear- able technology and evolving uses of smart-phones, the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) has become a prevailing notion in the currently growing technology industry. Cisco Inc. has projected a data creation of approximately 403 Zetabytes (ZB) by 2018. The combination of bringing benign devices and connecting them to the web has resulted in exploding service and data aggregation requirements, thus requiring a new and innovative computing platform. This platform should have the capability to provide robust real-time data analytics and resource provisioning to clients, such as IoT users, on-demand. Such a computation model would need to function at the edge-of-the-network, forming a bridge between the large cloud data centers and the distributed connected devices. This research expands on the notion of bringing computational power to the edge- of-the-network, and then integrating it with the cloud computing paradigm whilst providing services to diverse IoT-based applications. This expansion is achieved through the establishment of a new computing model that serves as a platform for IoT-based devices to communicate with services in real-time. We name this paradigm as Gateway-Oriented Reconfigurable Ecosystem (GORE) computing. Finally, this thesis proposes and discusses the development of a policy management framework for accommodating our proposed computational paradigm. The policy framework is designed to serve both the hosted applications and the GORE paradigm by enabling them to function more efficiently. Innovation revolution of smart mobility changeover to autonomous vehicles (AVs) : An Exploration to the role of autonomous public transportation in the form of smart mobility in Nordic municipalities: A comparative study between Denmark and Norway.

The continuous dramatic increase in the urban population creates many problems related to speedy mobility or conventional accessiblity options.However, the rapid evolution of autonomous technology in the field of automotive and information technology(IT) has made it possible to implement autonomous vehicles (AVs) for public transport smart transportation, as a concept, is a contemporary buzzword that should lead to sustainable mobility.In recent years, different smart transport initiative serviced globally, which has been supported increasingly by the private and public sectors. Briefly highlight the history and development of autonomous vehicles, and the SAE the 4 phases of AV. This thesis explores the main research question of how these two munciplaities aim to integrate AVs(autonomous vehicles)into their public transport systems? The two case strategies has examined where driverless transportation has practiced in l∅renskogs,Norway and Alaborg, Denmark demonstrated that autnonmy bus passengers are well aligned with the muncipalities to reduce the amount of car usage. Easy access for vulnerable groups(young children, physically or mentally disabled individuals and elderly persons). So, the autonomy public transport (PT) can make hard reachable places more accessible, leading to social inclusion. The thesis is primarily qualitative methodology was essential to apply and relies on the work of previous researcher, technical reports, workshops and the empirical data was collected from involvement of stakeholders in the public and private sectors besides the municipalities need to take a leadership position in defining autonomy transportation based on the real city′s demand and integrate into sustainable smart transportation planning stragtegies.

Smart City concepts and their approach on sustainability, transportation and tourism – Waterborne transportation, an opportunity for sustainability?

Due to urbanization and the population of cities producing up to 75% of emission, Smart City concepts, looking at sustainability and more efficiency within the city, with the help of IoT and ICT based technology, are seen as an opportunity to act future-oriented, today. Construction and transportation are seen as the main contributors on the way of change from energy consumption to energy production. Enhancing infrastructure to improve the quality of all sorts of public transportation is thus of utter importance to governance, interested in Smart City concepts. Looking at the literature, waterborne transportation has not received much scientific attention in the context of being implemented into Smart City initiatives. This systematic literature research draws logical conclusions from the researched literature. The research concludes with a research agenda for future research to deepen the knowledge in the explanatory field of waterborne transportation making use of Smart City technologies. The main findings of this thesis are: First, waterborne transportation poses a threat to the environment and impacts sustainability of water bodies, as well as the environment surrounding them. Second, Smart City technologies can successfully be implemented in waterborne transportation when carefully planned. Barriers for the implementation of Smart City concepts can be lack of knowledge, investment, data security and readiness of infrastructure. These can be overcome through the help of collaboration and knowledge sharing among the involved stakeholders. Third, the image of the industry can be shifted, as well as its direct impact and the indirect use of waterborne transportation can be made more sustainable and ecosystem friendly. This transition attracts further customers, who otherwise were not willing to use waterborne transportation. In order to make waterborne transportation more sustainable and part of the Smart City movement, knowledge needs to be deepened and awareness about the topic needs to be spread. Its use of Smart City technologies needs to be further investigated, looking at specific types and tailored solutions for them, as well as how beneficial such an investment can be for governments and companies regarding ecological costs and their image. This thesis mainly aims to help scholars, interested in further research to deepen the knowledge on waterborne transportation in a sustainability context, but also companies and governance, looking to make waterborne transportation more sustainable.
