The need for convergence between technology and shipbuilding processes is identified in the Brazilian shipbuilding industry to make it has a greater competitiveness compared to the shipyards belonging to the Tiger Club Economies. In this perspective, the technologies of identification and tracing in industrial envi- ronments have demonstrated a vertiginous growth. The combination of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Global Position System (GPS) with other technologies and me- dia are widely used in a variety of production environments. This paper proposes an architecture based on Internet of Things (IoT) using RFID and GPS for identification and tracking of blocks in shipyards. A hardware and software architecture are presented with the objective of identify, to map and to track blocks and consequently the vehicles used for their transport at shipyard. For this, it is proposed to use RFID tags to identify the blocks, an Embedded System to recognize the tags and to collect their geographical coordinates through GPS, making possible to provide the location of a block inside the shipyard. This information will be sent to applications using technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, PHP and JavaScript. From there, will be possible to view the location of a block, extract log reports from events that occurred, etc.
