Náklady na poskytování ošetřovatelské a rehabilitační péče v pobytových zařízeních sociálních služeb. / Costs of providing nursing and rehabilitation care in institutions of social services.

SKRUŽNÁ, Andrea January 2014 (has links)
The dissertation themed "Costs of providing nursing and rehabilitation care in institutions of social services." maps out current issues in provision of health care in the residential facilities of social services. The dissertation focused on analysis of expenses for provision of nursing and rehabilitation care in residential facilities of social services. The theory part is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, I deal with the social services in the European Union and in the Czech Republic. Further, I describe the system of long-term care. The second chapter focuses on residential facilities of the social services, their division by types and specification of their basic activities. In the third chapter, I describe funding of the residential facilities of the social services, where I focus on description of each funding source. The fourth chapter is focused on health care in the residential facilities of the social services. I describe author's expertise of general nurse in the social services, the list of tasks of health care for the expertise, conditions for indication of health care, the ways for payments of health care by health insurance companies, and audits of the reported health care conducted by the health insurance companies. The last chapter deals with the issues related to per os administration of drugs in the residential facilities of the social services. The practical part of the dissertation consists of my own quantitative research. Described is methodology for data collection; in addition, the research set is characterized, and the research implementation description is given. Results of obtained data were processed in two chapters where structure of users of facilities as well as health care provided to the user was described in a statistical way using tables and graphs. Thereafter, discussion on results obtained was made. The research survey was performed in Senior House in Roudnice nad Labem (hereinafter referred to as "the facility") in November 2013, where data was collected for period from 18 to 24 November 2013. The facility provides social service of senior house and social service of a house with a special regime to its users. At the moment of the research, there were 129 users, of which 95 received health care from health care employees of the facility. Two hypotheses were defined for the dissertation. The hypothesis No. 1 is: The number of health care professionals in the residential facilities of the social services corresponds to time demands for health care indicated by a general practitioner. The hypothesis No. 2: Administration of medical therapy per os as indicated by a general practitioner is the most frequent health care service provided to the users of the residential facilities of the social services. The research confirmed both hypotheses. I can see importance of results of the dissertation particularly in that they outlined how the medical care in the residential facilities of the social services is currently provided. The processed results of the provided health care could then serve as one of the grounds in making a draft for transition of funding of the health care in the residential facilities of the social services from performance-based to flat-based model. The dissertation could also be used as the grounds for training of health care professionals of the residential facilities of the social services in the field of indication, provision, and reporting of health care provided to users of the residential facilities of the social services.

Exercise, Sports and Health : Second Joint Research Conference in Chemnitz, Germany 09. - 11. September 2009

Schulz, Henry, Wright, Peter, Hauser, Thomas 20 October 2011 (has links)
The Second Joint Research Conference of the Universities of Gloucestershire and Chemnitz took place at the Chemnitz University of Technology from 09th to 11th of September 2009. There were presenters from seven different nations in the lecture theatre. The very close partnership of the two institutions is characterised by a very active student exchange programme, joint teaching modules and some collaborative research which has been extended after the conference as well as several extracurricular guest lectures. In 2007 our friends from Gloucester invited us to our first joint conference and set the standard. The topics of the 2009 Conference were Public health and Sports with three main areas of interest: 1. Physiology and Biomechanics, 2. Philosophy and Social Science, 3. Prevention, Rehabilitation and Health Promotion. Many interesting and inspiring presentations were given by colleagues, PhD students and research students. One example of inspiration was the Clem Burke Drumming Project (S. Draper and M. Smith), which we were kindly invited to join. This is an example par excellence on how to conduct international research by simply using existing resources and talking to each other. It caused huge interest among colleagues across the whole university that Chemnitz did not only follow the example of our colleagues in Gloucester, but also widened the research interest into the application of different types of drumming as a means of therapy. This was the beginning of the DRUM BEAT Project (P. Wright of the Chair of Sports Medicine). Furthermore, both universities - Chemnitz and Gloucester - are trying to establish outreaching programmes with local communities which have practical implications of research in the context of public health and/or health promotion. One of the presentations for instance referred to a concept called the Healthy Town Project Tewkesbury, a similar project is planned for Chemnitz called Healthy Community. These two outreaching programmes and other research synergies could be part of an attempt of both universities to establish stronger international research links and in this context also submitting joint proposals to funding agencies, i.e. the EU. Since this conference a joint EU research proposal was submitted by colleagues in Gloucester. Also, talks were held on the topic of establishing a joint international degree. Understandably a project of this scale will take more than a couple of conferences and work on both sides is necessary and last but not least is also depending on the political and funding situation. However, first small step was taken after the conference by conducting a joint teaching module in the Ore Mountains /Saxony. Students from both institutions and colleagues conducted a research project comparing physiological and cognitive parameters of cross-country skiing and running. Social and intercultural processes were just as important during this winter camp. Some of the data is presented in this book. I trust that the colleagues of both universities do agree that this is an outstanding and very productive partnership with a lot of potential for future development and I am looking forward to many more joint schemes, projects and conferences to come - perhaps even an international degree. Život s HIV/AIDS: strategie zvládání rizik a narušené identity / Life with HIV/AIDS: A Narrative Construction of Identity

Miott, Jana January 2011 (has links)
HIV/AIDS is an illness that is more correlated than any other with high rates of stigmatization and discrimination. People diagnosed with this illness have to cope with a new potentially life threatning situation and stigmatized identity. Common social interactions or heath complications become a potential source of confrontation, which can endanger social relations, or damage and spoil the identity of people living with HIV/AIDS. This study jointly analyzes the concept of social and health risks, stigmatization and identity and focuses on the following: 1) The process of coping with the diagnosis and its impact on the identity and everyday life of people living with HIV/AIDS 2) The role of accessible social networks on the coping process with this illness and stigmatization; and 3) The strategies of health and social risk management used in connection with this illness. Awareness and acquisition of information on HIV/AIDS plays an important role in overcomming the initial shock of the diagnosis and coping with the disease. Thanks to the support of social networks, the diagnosed person can reach much easier and faster the so called "rational approach" to the illness and safely awknowledge and accept HIV/AIDS as a part of his or her life. People living with HIV/AIDS also face many risks. In this...
