Felipe Camilo Mesquita Kardozo 30 January 2013 (has links)
Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento CientÃfico e TecnolÃgico / With reference to the phenomenon of subjectivation in social networks, the work investigate the emergence of confessional subjectivities on Facebook. Through empirical research about the practices of confession, self-exposure and voyeurism among active Brazilian users in the social network Facebook.com, it describes how these components of a confessional culture participate in the processes of construction and modification of subjectivities in digital ambiences. Based on the concepts of confession of Michel Foucault and Paula SibÃlia, It shows how this element was massificated in the Internet, becoming a profitable business component of Facebook Inc.. Thereby, It examines how architecture, design, policies and social relations on the network educate their users to confessional practices that feedback the market by exposing informations about their daily lives and desires. Immersed in this culture, users create for themselves ethics that modulate their practices of exposure in social network. Also, It is observed recurrently practices of resistance to this confessional culture among users which do not usually take part in the dynamics of self-exposure â even when they have strong ties with users marked by the practices of confession.
