Department of Surface and Plasma Science Abstract: The positive column of DC glow discharge sustained in oxygen and oxygen-argon mixtures has been studied in two discharge tubes of the same shape made from different materials (Silica and Pyrex glass) for total pressures 200 - 1750 Pa and discharge currents up to 40 mA. Parameters of the discharge - electric field strength and emission spectra - were studied with respect to existence of the low- and high-gradient forms of the positive column of the discharge. We have focused on the qualitative analysis of the differences in emission spectra for both particular forms, as well as on possibility of determination of the rotational temperature of oxygen molecule under various discharge conditions, particularly with respect to the relative amount of the admixture. Mirror neurons are very specific nerve cells that are both motor and sensory in nature. Mirror neurons are a relatively new discovery first identified by a team of neurophysiologists at the University of Parma. These neurons were first observed in primates, and then later in humans in several regions of the cerebral cortex. A large amount of research on mirror neurons have shown that they play an important role in imitation, language acquisition and empathy. The theoretical part of this work summarizes what is currently known about mirror neurons. It emphasizes the relationship between mirror neurons, autism, empathy, and its training. This theoretical framework is followed by pilot research, which consists of two components: the quantitative part consisted of a questionnaire survey to ascertain the level of empathy of the participants using the Index of Interpersonal Reactivity. The participants were the parents of autistic children who were compared with a control group. Aim. The aim of the present work is to examine and compare brain abnormalities found on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and in children without this diagnosis. In terms of psychopathology, the aim is to evaluate a possible relationship between the MRI findings and the severity of autistic symptomatology. Methods. The research study is based on a retrospective analysis of a sample of patients who attended a diagnostic examination focused on ASD and at the same time underwent brain MRI at the Department of Child Psychiatry of the Second Faculty of Medicine at Charles University and University Hospital Motol between the years 1998 and 2015. For clinical diagnosis of ASD, the International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision (ICD-10), was used. Between 1998 and 1999, the assessment of patients was supported by the Childhood Autism Rating Scale. Starting in 2000, the third version of the Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised was used for assessments; and from 2012 onwards, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - Generic was added to the diagnostic procedures. Goal of this thesis is to develop portable monitoring station for radio spectrum monitoring and its controlling application for use by Czech Telecommunication Office. The station is based on Software Defined Radio (SDR) and capable of monitoring in the range of 1 MHz - 6 GHz. Developed application controls not only the SDR but also the external RF unit (including choice of receiving antenna, filter, optional amplification/attenuation and azimuth of antenna rotator). Measurement processed by computer and displayed graphically in form of spectrum diagram and waterfall diagram. Furthermore, the application will perform spectral measurement in compliance with requirements of International Telecommunication Union. The application is also capable of recording into the file and of analyzing historical data from the previous measurement.

This thesis studies properties of hydrogel, which arises on the basis of electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions between hyaluronan chain and micelles of cationic surfactant. A native sodium hyaluronan at molecular weight 750–1 000 kDa and a cationic surfactant CTAB (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) were used. This hydrogel was assessed as a material for drug delivery systems. The hydrogels were made by mixing 200mM CTAB with 0.5% hyaluronan, both dissolved in 0.15M aqueous solution of NaCl simulating physiological solution. Methods used in this study were steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy, more accurately time-resolved emission spectra (TRES) and deconvolution of steady-state emission spectra of a whole sample by means of parameters gained from fluorescence intensity decays at a set of wavelenghts. Selected systems were investigated by three fluorescent probes, prodan, laurdan and rhodamine 6G. The first two mentioned probes were in hydrogel localized only within micelles in three different microenvironments. Rhodamine 6G pointed out that in hydrogel the aqueous environment is significantly restricted in comparison to purely micellar solution. In addition, rhodamine informed about less available micelle surfaces, caused by hyaluronan chains occupation. There were no interactions between the probes and hyaluronan chains. Freshly made hydrogels showed almost the same results as after a week of maturation under its supernatant.

Presentation and evaluation of nine case studies and subsequent implementation of policy for teaching swimming to children with autism spectrum disorder. Methods: Analysis of specialized literature, case studies, surveys, interviews, scaling observation and statistics method. Results of the work: Methods of the structured learning support and facilitate the implementation of standard swimming lessons for children with autism spectrum disorder. The case studies confirm the effectiveness of our taught realized swimming lessons. The principles for swimming education of children with autism spectrum disorder are designed based on the above-mentioned examples of swimming lessons. We present a unique design of a post-focal instrument suitable to detect fast changes of flux in waveband 350 - 440 nm. As it is not possible to measure the Sun as a star because of a strong background radiation in this waveband and using a thin slit makes it impossible to measure the whole flaring area we made a set of circular diaphragms of different sizes able to collect light only from a limited part of the Sun's atmosphere. For our data we also evolved new software technique based on statistical methods that even more increases a sensitivity on any changes in spectra. First results of observations of three X-class solar flares obtained in June 2014 proved significant increase of flux in Balmer continuum. One of these flares was measured from 20 minutes before a peak in SXR (GOES) so we were able to compare a whole impulsive phase with a state with no signs of a flare before it. Data suggest a radiation at Balmer limit (364,5 nm) of up to 5,5 stronger from flaring kernels compared to the quiet Sun. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
