CORROSION-FATIGUE TESTING ON STEEL GRADES WITH DIFFERENT HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS USED IN ROCK-DRILLING APPLICATIONS

Béjar, Luis Miguel January 2016 (has links)
Corrosion fatigue is a common failure mechanism in rock drilling components and many othermechanical parts subjected to cyclic loads in corrosive environments. A crucial part in the design ofsuch components resides in the selection of the right materials for the application, which ideallyinvolves testing and comparison of their performance under working conditions. The present work was performed with the purpose of designing a corrosion-fatigue testing methodthat would allow the designer to compare the performance of different materials exposed to corrosionfatigue, permitting also the comparison with results from dry fatigue testing. The method was designedfor rotating-bending machines. Two different steel grades were used during the work, one throughhardened and one case hardened. The effect of these heat treatments and of shot peening overcorrosion-fatigue behaviour were studied using the proposed method. It was proven that the testing speed has a strong impact on the fatigue life of steel. It was found that,at a fixed stress level, the case hardened and shot peened steel reached 3X10^6 cycles at 2300 rpm, while it failed at only 5X10^5 cycles with a testing speed of 500 rpm. A large beneficial influence of theshot peening was demonstrated. It was also observed that, at fixed testing speed, the shot peening onthe through hardened steel can increase its fatigue strength from 190 MPa to 600 MPa under corrosionfatigue. Many cracks were found at the surface of the shot peened parts, which are arrested near thesurface by the compressive stress layer from the shot peening. It was also found that, for the non-shotpeened parts, case hardening had a slightly higher corrosion-fatigue strength than the throughhardened. This might be a result of the compressive stresses from carburization, or due to the highercore toughness of this steel grade.

Bytový dům / Flat Building

Podepřel, Petr January 2020 (has links)
The thesis deals with the design and calculation of selected parts of an apartment building in Brno. The apartment building is 6 floors (one underground floor and 5 above-ground floors), the underground floor is the entire reinforced concrete. The work focuses mainly on the static design and assessment of individual elements of reinforced concrete structures. The assessed load-bearing elements are the roof slab, ceiling slab 1.PP, prefabricated staircase, elevator shaft and so-called white bath (foundation slab, walls). All calculations are performed using SCIA Engineer. Individual ceiling slabs and staircases are solved by 2D models and the construction of the white bathtub is made in a 3D model. The design proceeded according to valid European standards ČSN EN 1992-1-1 and ČSN 73 1201. The result of this work is static design of reinforcement of all solved parts and drawing documentation.

Codes AL-FEC et protocoles de diffusion robuste de contenus : composants pour des services performants et passant à l'échelle

Roca, Vincent 01 April 2014 (has links) (PDF)

Švéda, Petr January 2016 (has links)
The main goal of this diploma project is to produce an architectural study of the Moravian Wine Centre Brno (MVC) located on Hlinky Street in Brno, Czech Republic. Study also includes a concept of urban planning at Zluty Kopec area. Proposed urban ideas lead to development of a bidirectional passable park area and create an axis leading towards Moravian Wine Centre. MVC is a multifunctional building which contains the following space and operations: a leasable retail space for winemakers, space for wine degustation and archive boxes, a congress center with multifunctional hall, offices of The Czech Republic Institute of Wine, a gastrostudio, a viewing terrace restaurant, a cafe, a hotel type of accommodation in double rooms and suites, apartments with roof terraces, a wellness centre and space for wine production. Design of the proposed MVC complements surrounding buildings built in functionalist era and highlights the enter of proposed park. The facade is functionally pure with an accent of colored glass. An important part of the proposal is to link the design of new building with the historic cellars with tradition of wine processing. A part of this project was to design an interior spiral staircase connecting the basement with the entrance area. The construction of building contains integrated elements of renewable resources of energy such as photovoltaic facade.
