This diploma project deals with a post-industrial factory area Zbrojovka Brno. It proposes a strategy for its revitalisation and development. On contrary to official studies of one time reconstruction and creation of a residential site, the proposal brings an idea of step by step transformation into a multifunctional city quarter with preservation and new use of original industrial architecture. The strategy has four main phases, which are characterised by addition of functions, metamorphoses of public space and opening of the area and connecting it to neighbourhoods. After the four phases, the area should become a healthy and sustainable city with a compact structure with mixed functions, high quality public spaces linked with greenery, sustainable system of transportation and energetic concept and with use of community sharing.

This Diploma Thesis covers the final evaluation topic in the educational program Step by step. In particular, it deals with the verbal description as a specific form of evaluation. In the theoretical part, the Thesis describes the Step by step program in general and within the contexts of its implementation into the Czech local educational system. The Thesis outlines the scope of the program and the applicable ways of evaluation. The second chapter deals with evaluation in general. Various kind and purpose of evaluation have been described in detail. Particular attention has been paid to the verbal evaluation as such. The research section of the Thesis studies and describes the various ways of wording and formulation in the verbal evaluation specifically. In my diploma thesis I am examining the importance of community circles and morning letters in primary education. I would like to give an explanation of the term community circle especially focusing on the community circles in the programme Step by Step. These were particularly inspiring for me. I am also looking into the community circles from the point of view of the Framework Educational Programme and acquiring key competencies. It is, indeed, in the community circles that the social and communication competencies are developed. The goal of my thesis is above all stating the terms of smooth establishment of a community circle. I hope to offer guidelines for a start-up of community circles and the development of short activities used in morning circles. The theoretical part investigates family and school as an educational institutions and describes its historical evolution and on-going trends in a mutual communication between family and school. The major source of the Diploma Thesis is the Programme Step by Step. The theoretical part is focused on 2 basic standards critical for the quality of cooperation between school and family. Programme documents are compared both. The empiric part presents an action research focused on "Learning Agreements" as a one of the family- school cooperation. It deals with the "Learning Agreement" implementation in a certain school named X. It investigates its contribution for its contribution for children, parents, teachers and mutual cooperation. Author: Monika Cihelková Abstract: The diploma thesis deals with forms of cooperation between a family and a school at the beginning of school attendance. The theoretical part defines the terms school, family and teacher. Then it characterizes the family, and also the school as an institution that combines teaching and educating (bringing up), and pays attention to involving parents in the process of education. It introduces possible forms of communication and cooperation between the family and the school, and also the cooperation based on curriculum and other documents (e.g. the programme Step by Step). The empirical part includes qualitative research (observation, interview, questionnaire), which is aimed at one of the effective forms of the school- family cooperation at the beginning of school attendance, namely at parent - pupil - teacher consultation. This part brings information about the results of such a cooperation in the programme Step by Step. The thesis deals with the communication of class teacher with the parents in primary school. The current position of this topic within the Czech education system is examined. Educational programs and initiatives focusing on this area of teacher's work are studied. Specific forms of communication available to teachers are presented with their advantages and disadvantages. Four case studies and their final comparison examines teachers' approach to the selection of specific forms of communication and the formation of the overall structure of communication with parents. Case studies describe the forms of communication used by individual teachers. Sources of information about the possible forms of communication, as well as factors that influence the teachers are presented. Individual studies are evaluated in the context of the others and their common and different features are identified. The issue of training of future teachers in this area is discussed. Individual approach of teachers to this topic is observed.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of Mutual collegial support in the Step by Step program. It examines how this support is implemented at a selected innovative school. In the theoretical part describes the professional development of a teacher, mutual collegial support, mentoring in teaching and mentor quality. It focuses on the educational activities of Step by Step Czech Republic. In the case study, the research part describes the realization of collegiate support, especially in the form of mentoring. This research method is based on participating observations, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, material and video analysis. A portrait of a mentor, which depicts her style of work, is created in the form of a metaphorical comparison. And it also describes individual forms of collegial support and its benefits or possible constraints. The results should work as an help for parents' to choose the right institution necessary for the elementary education of their children suffering from any kind of handicap, they should help also the educators searching for many initiatives to integrate all the pupils to a group. This diploma thesis focuses on implementation of multicultural education in the Step by Step program in primary education. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first one defines the basic concepts that apply to multicultural education. In addition, it also mentions officially recognised national minorities in the Czech Republic and the evolution of the number of foreigners residing on or territory. Further this chapter explains prejudice and stereotypes. The second chapter focuses on multicultural education as one of the cross-section modules in Framework Czech Educational Program. In this part, the thesis characterizes the cross-section theme and describes the thematic circuits and possible approaches to teaching. The third chapter discusses the educational program Step by Step and details its core parts. In the practical part of the work, qualitative research is described in detail, carried out with the fifth grade of Elementary School Petřiny - Sever, which follows the educational program Step by Step.
