Conflict Management And Effective Communication: Types Of Conflict Confronted And The Skills, Needs, And Att,tudes Of Students In Handling Conflicts

This study examines and analyzes conflict management and effective communication from several complementary perspectives. The purpose of the study is to identify common types of conflicts that learners confront in the process of EFL learning / to examine and analyze EFL learners&#039 / own strategies to deal with conflicts based on the conflict handling modes in the process of EFL learning / to find out their needs in terms of effective communication skills necessary to manage conflicts / and to analyze their attitudes toward conflict management learning and their needs for conflict management strategies. In order to achieve this aim, a survey research is preferred and the quantitaitve data gathered through the questionnaires were supported with the qualitative data obtained from the interivews with participants EFL learners. In the questiionnaire, there were two parts. The first one was a demographic inventory designed to gather the demographic characteristics of the participants. In the second part, four sub-sections were desgined: (1) a rank answer questionnaire to identify common types of conflicts that learners confront in the process of EFL learning / (2) a slightly adapted, Likert scale questionnaire which was translated to Turkish by G&uuml / m&uuml / seli (1994) from the Rahim Organizational conflict Inventory II (ROCI II) to identify EFL learners&#039 / conflict management strategies / (3) another Likert scale questionnaire to find out their needs in terms of effective communication skills necessary to manage conflicts / and (4) an alternative answer questionnaire to analyze learners&#039 / attitudes toward conflict management learning and their needs for conflict management strategies. The result of these questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS 15.0. This data gathering instrument was implemented on 339 students at the preparatory school TOBB University of Economics and Technology. Data gathered from 171 students from the same school were used for the piloting of the stduy. The data gahthered from 339 students at ETU Preparatory School represented the results of the main study. In analyzing the data, descriptive statistics as frequency, percent, average, and standard deviation and inferential statistics as ANOVA was used. As the second scale of the current study, semi-structered interviewsw were conducted with 12 students studying at the same university. The results of the interviews were analyzed through content analysis. The results of the study revealed that there is a relationship between EFL learners&#039 / conflict managament strategies, need for effective communication skills, and their gender, scholarship status, last school graduated, and duration of study at a particular university. Additionally, the study displayed that students confornt various types of conflict and they need to learn conflict management skills and effective communication skills to deal with conflicts successfully.

The theoretical part defines the marketing in general, marketing process and marketing mix focused on culture and the cultural product. This part of the thesis deals with the importance of marketing in culture and it describes the typology of audiences. Following the theory and the facts established in it, the practical part is set on monitoring a particular marketing strategy for improvisational group Improvariace and their performances in Jazz club Reduta. The goal is to critically evaluate their strategy and to propose improvements.

The research showed that Bezerros’s carnival espectacularization is a public politics invention acting as a means to increase tourism ,resulting from the use of strategies like as institutional folkmarketing, touristic, and marketing actions in order to create revenue opportunities for local and a scheduling in the media .That is, there is in Bezerros a political approach for local development centering from above, from technical concerns and views of the city and state and an approach based on company performance. / O uso da folkcomunicação na Folia de Papangu como estratégia de comunicação para o turismo cultural e desenvolvimento local de Bezerros, especificamente a Associação de Artesãos de Bezerros, foi alvo de estudo de caso mediante pesquisa exploratória, bibliográfica, documental e diálogo entre teoria e objeto de investigação. A pesquisa revelou que a espetacularização do carnaval de Bezerros é uma invenção de políticas públicas como estratégia de desenvolvimento para ativar o turismo, daí a utilização de estratégias de comunicação folkcomunicacionais, mediante ações de folkmarketing institucional, turística e mercadológica para criar oportunidades de renda para o local e de agendamento midiático. Ou seja, há em Bezerros uma abordagem política em prol do desenvolvimento local centralizadora de cima, a partir de interesses e visões de técnicos do estado e do município e uma abordagem baseada no desempenho de empresas.

The Relationship Between English Instructors

This study aimed at investigating the relationship between English instructors&rsquo / negotiation strategies to handle conflicts in the FLE classroom and personality traits. Two scales which consist of a demographic inventory, two questionnaires and a semi structured interview were developed by the researcher. The first scale consists of &ldquo / Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory II (ROCI II)&rdquo / and &ldquo / Eyesenck Personality Inventory (EPI). The results of these questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS 15.0. This data gathering instrument was implemented on 120 English instructors working at METU, TOBB ETU, &Ccedil / ankaya University, Atilim University, and Trakya University. Data gathered from 30 English instructors from the same universities were used for the piloting of the study. The data gathered from 120 English instructors in English Preparatory Schools represented the results of the main study. In analyzing the data, descriptive statistics as frequency, percent, average, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics as ANOVA was used. As the second scale of the current study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 English instructors employed at these universities. The results of the interviews were analyzed through content analysis. The results of the study revealed that there is a relationship between English instructors&rsquo / use of negotiation strategies and their gender, age, educational background, work experience and the personality traits of introversion-extroversion.

ABSTRACT: This thesis deals with the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) which the European Union finds as a useful tool for teaching foreign languages in the 21st century. The objective of the theoretical part is to clarify the concept of CLIL and compare different interpretations and models which appears in school practice. We also focus on meta-analysis of research studies that have been undertaken in this area since 2005. The theoretical part provides insight into the history of CLIL in selected European countries including the Czech Republic. The first part concludes with a chapter on theoretical concepts which CLIL refers to and which are essential for implementation of CLIL. The aim of the empirical part is to implement CLIL into primary school teaching and describe what changes this innovation brings into practice. The main topic of the submitted diploma thesis is "Interactions between the teachers and the parents with mental disabilities". The aim was to examine how parents with mental disabilities themselves understand the interaction and how it is perceived by teachers who educate their children. The first part introduces the reader to potential prejudices against people with mental disabilities and possible risks of discrimination against them. It also introduces the reader to the sexuality and partnership of people with mental disabilities. The work does not omit an important chapter related to its focus, and that is the parenting of people with mental disabilities. Given that the relationship between teachers and parents can be better understood on the basis of their mutual communication, the last chapter of the first part deals with communication. At the same time, it does not forget to mention the communication difficulties of people with mental disabilities and the principles and strategies that will facilitate contact with these people for the intact population. The empirical part interprets the author's own qualitative research of this diploma thesis.
