Životní styl mládeže středních škol na Teplicku / Healthy Lifestyle of Secondary Schools Youth in Teplice

The diploma thesis addresses the lifestyle of the high school students in Teplice; in particular their healthy lifestyle. In the theoretical part, basic information about a healthy lifestyle is summarized. At the same time, the lifestyle information is introduced, which relates to healthy diet, eating habits, fluid intake, motion activity and sleep. Furthermore, the determinants harmful to human health are introduced in this part; i.e. alcoholic beverages overconsumption, smoking or excessive mental strain. The practical part is aimed at mapping the major factors of the high school youth's lifestyle in Teplice and to ascertain whether the taught subject focused on health and healthy lifestyle influences the students and their attitude to a healthier lifestyle. I evaluated the questionnaire survey by means of self-made evaluation methods based on the healthy lifestyle principles. The reason was that none of the discovered methods for poll evaluation corresponded with my needs. The results are clearly arranged in the attached tables and demonstrated in the charts. Another objective is to verify the feasibility and viability of the project. The theory section presents the potential users of the business plan, the general principles for its processing and describes each part of the business plan in detail. The practical section consists of the complete business plan for the project. Great attention is given to describing the product and preparing a comprehensive financial plan, which also includes verifying the feasibility of the project.

Studie životního stylu seniorů ve vztahu ke zdravé stravě / Case-study of seniors’ lifestyle in relationships to healthy food

The aim of the presented case-study is a detection of the influence of seniors' lifestyle to healthy food. Qualitative approach to this topic should detect some selected aspects of seniors' lifestyle -- imaginations concern healthy food, real food shopping, and their real physical activities. Empirical pilot research was focused at sample of urban population, age 65+, living in Prague. Next aim of the master's thesis lies in economical consequences of seniors' lifestyle in relationships to healthy food and its potential changes. The thesis use methods like critical comparative approach to secondary data, qualitative approach in pilot sociological research, semi-structured interview, analyses and synthesis. The results are discussed in a framework of some sociological, demographical and marketing studies. The master's theses show seniors also like a challenging segment of populations in terms of great occasion for economic subjects and their business. General approach of the thesis is based on the contemporary concept of the relationships between active lifestyle and healthy food.

Purpose of the thesis was to find out and describe associations that are linked to the category of healthy food by consumers. Above all the aim was to identify, what represents healthy food for them and what other thoughts and themes are associated with healthy food by consumers. In-depth ZMET interviews were conducted to determine these associations. The findings and other issues related to the topic such as broader context and specifics of healthy food marketing are presented. The information mentioned can be used for marketing mix planning of companies in food industry. The research found out that healthy food is not perceived as special food category, but approach to the food consumption. Approach that takes into consideration what is good for the person in terms of health. For respondents healthy food represented mainly homemade dishes consisting quality, fresh, natural ingredients. According the respondents healthy eating is a way of eating respecting sum of principles. Main principles are variety and balance in the consumers diet.

Vliv antimikrobiálních látek na trvanlivost raw potravin / Effect of antimicrobial substances on "raw food" durability

Submitted diploma thesis deals with an effect of antimicrobial substances on raw food durability. Nowadays, the raw food has become very required style of nutrition, which is being practised by more and more people. The issue is that this kind of alimentation, especially vegetable raw food is not prepared in heat treatment which is higher than 42–45 °C. The main aim of the thesis is to study antioxidant and antibacterial properties of the herbal and spice extracts and their following implementation into raw desserts to prolong their durability. At the beginning of the theoretical part, there is an analysis of the issue of raw food and the description of micro-organisms, which are mostly occurred on plant materials. Afterwards, selected herbs and spices, and mechanisms of their antimicrobial effects, and also the methods used to test the products are characterised. The experimental part focuses on characterization of ethanol extracts from 13 selected kinds of spices and herbs. The determination of biologically active substance was accomplished, specifically, polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins and their antioxidant properties. Moreover, these extracts were tested to antimicrobial effect towards gram-positive species of germs Micrococcus luteus, gram-negative species of germs Escherichia coli and yeast Candida glabrata. The molecular part of the thesis contains the DNA isolation from the tested raw material, which was enriched of combination of the selected herbs and spices. Change of expiry date of selected samples of raw desserts was monitored. The presence of chosen micro-organisms was confirmed by the PCR method.

Positive changes in people's lifestyles that beneficially impact overall health are one of the main goals of today's society. Objectives: Primary goal of this thesis was to analyse the level of healthy living practice among students of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové and then compare these findings with results from similar scientific studies. Secondary goal was to study the differences between the obtained data and data acquired from the same poll among students in 2012 and then describe any changes made over time. Methods: Data was derived from an anonymous survey handed out to 113 students in December 2016. Official recommendations from Czech and foreign health organizations were used to determine the healthy lifestyle criteria. Children's obesity is a global issue. Overweight is associated with many health complications and social inconveniences. The theoretical part is devoted to the general causes of obesity development, complications associated with obesity and treatment of obesity. Physical activity, children's and adolescent's eating habits are discussed in the following chapter. Short parts are devoted to describing the characteristics of adolescents period and modern technologies. The group consisted of 11 adolescents aged from 11 to 18 years. The adolescents were observed for two months. During this period, adolescents recorded physical activity, number of steps, number of hours spent with technologies (mobile phones, computers, tablets, laptops). Each of them also wrote down their eating habits. All eating habits diets were provided evaluated and compared with recommendations. Adolescents were measured twice on a bioimpedance device, their body compositions were determined and evaluated based on their measuring. Research proved that each respondent has shown a change in body composition (ratio between muscle and fat), which did not always show a decrease in total body weight. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the importance of fruits and vegetables from the point of view of human health. In the first part, the chapters deal with the division of fruits and vegetables into groups and the importance of specific fruits and vegetables. Other chapters deal with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which are abundant in fruit and vegetables. The "Ovoce a zelenina do škol" project is also an integral part. In the last part of the theoretical part, thematic plans of elementary school Bratří Venclíků are discussed, specifically the topics related to fruits and vegetables. The practical part is based on the results of a quantitative survey in the form of a questionnaire, which focused on pupils' knowledge of fruits and vegetables and their importance for human health. The research was carried out at two primary schools in Prague, namely Bratří Venclíků Primary School and Campanus Primary School. Some of the questions are focused on the popularity of fruit and vegetables among pupils, and some questions are in the form of tests about the knowledge of vitamins, minerals, fiber, alternative nutrition and other topics related to fruits and vegetables. Healthy diet isn't only important aspect of life, but also an important topic discussed within school system and one of the main chapters of Education of health. Thanks to early prevention this can save from many deceases like ischemic heart decease, diabetes mellitus, cancer or obesity. All of these can be prevented thanks to healthy eating, exercising and leading healthy lifestyle. Puberty is one of the main points of person's life, that's why I was interested if pupils of middle school are eating within nutrition recommendation or not, which is also the main topic of this thesis. I wanted to research to what point young people are eating healthy, if they are getting better with their food choices and where they have the best and the worst results in their eating habits. The thesis is divided to two parts. The first part is focused on healthy and recommended eating of teenagers in general. The sources are mainly literature focused on healthy eating, health of children and teenagers and recommended eating for children in middle school. This non-experimental diploma thesis is focused on nutrition in space and all aspects associated with it. The first part deals with human physiology in microgravity. These are changes affecting the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, digestive, immune and central nervous systems, but also the consequences of long-term isolation, confined space and cosmic radiation in terms of the nutritional profile of space mission participants. The second part describes the spacefood system and maps the Soviet (later Russian) and American past, present and future in terms of the development of space nutrition and food. The third part focuses on the functioning of space medicine and dietetics, together with interesting projects and programs that have helped or continue to help improve space food systems.
