Correct diet is the one which provides the human organism with the regular and sufficient supply of energy and food. They play a significant role in the healthy growth and development of the organism. Therefore, they are instrumental to keep the condition in the whole life. The diet should be varied and regular. The theoretical part is aimed at delimitation of the characteristics of the school age, description of particular components of the food, importance of drinking routine and the risk of dehydration. Consequently, it describes suitable and unsuitable drinks for children, diet in children and teenagers and related keeping to the regular eating routine and suitability of certain food, principles of the correct diets and food pyramid. The theoretical part pays attention to the kinetic activities, overweight and obesity in children. The practical part brings the results of the research focused on the above issue. The monitored set was made up of 208 respondents; 101 girls and 107 boys. In this part, 2 goals and 3 hypotheses were set. The first goal of the Diploma Thesis was to ascertain the diet habits in the second stage of the selected primary schools in Třebíč. The second goal was to record the Body Mass Index of the chosen group of pupils. Hypothesis 1: Eight-class pupils eat insufficient quantity of fruit and vegetables. Hypothesis 1: Eight-class pupils do not keep the drinking routine. Hypothesis 3: Pupils do not have breakfast. Both goals were fulfilled. Hypothesis 1 was rebutted as for fruit consuming. The bulk of the pupils eat fruit every day, in total number of 130 pupils. The second part of the hypothesis was vindicated. The pupils{\crq} board includes vegetables in minimum cases. Only 79 pupils eat vegetables every day. Hypothesis 2 was rebutted. The majority of the informants drink 2 litres of liquids or more. The drinking routine is kept by 135 interviewed pupils. Hypothesis 3 was vindicated. The pupils do not include breakfast in their meals. There are only 93 children who have breakfast regularly. Životní styl diabetika / Lifestyle of diabetic

HYNKOVÁ, Jana January 2010 (has links)
Diabetes is said to be an epidemic of 21st century. Although death rates from diabetes are decreasing, the treatment results are still not satisfactory. Today, every tenth Czech is affected by diabetes, but according to doctors, a quarter of patients do not even know about the existence of their disease. In my thesis I focus on the lifestyle of diabetics. I am mainly concerned about their diet. Another important thing was to find out if they eat regularly, and whether the portions are eaten at regular time intervals throughout the day, as the regular and balanced diet is more important in diabetic patients than in anyone else.My survey has clearly proved that stress significantly worsens the quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus. On the other hand, there is no evidence that a healthy diet and physical activity significantly improve health condition of patients with diabetes mellitus.

Etnografická studie stravy a stravování v Domově pro seniory / Etnography of diet and cathering at home for elderly people

Žůrková, Jaroslava January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of catering in the home for elderly people in Prague. The topic is reviewed from a socio-cultural point of view. The main objective is to penetrate the world of diet and catering of seniors living in a total institution, which is characterized by specific features affecting the rights and personal freedoms of its clients. The home for elderly people is committed to comply with the statutory regulations of the Social Services Act as well as its own internal guidelines, while the compliance with legislation and various aspects of catering, including dining, eating, the environment in which food is consumed, as well as those participating in preparation and serving of meals is negotiated at a committee. The relationship between the layers above is captured by an ethnographic study that gives an overall picture of the catering process with all its specifics. Research has revealed that the catering process is becoming an individualized activity at many levels, enabling clients to make autonomous decisions about the process. Nevertheless, staff and clients are aware of limits that prevent individualisation. Key words: diet - meal - catering - senior - total institution - ethnographic study - individualization

Orthorexia nervosa v kontextu internetu a sociálních sítí / Orthorexia nervosa, Social media and the Internet

Králová, Daniela January 2020 (has links)
This study focuses on an obsession with healthy eating called orthorexia nervosa, a term coined by Steven Bratman. It describes a pathological fixation on healthy eating, with a negative influence on the quality of human life. The study aimed to present orthorexia in the context of the Internet, social media, and the wellness industry. The research sample was composed of 324 participants aged 15 to 68 (M = 34), interested in healthy eating. The data was obtained via an online two-part questionnaire. The first part explored the healthy eating lifestyle of the participants (motivation, sources, healthy eating influencers, diets, time spent on the Internet, positive and negative aspects of a healthy diet). The second part was focused on orthorexic tendencies measured by ORTO-15. There was no difference in orthorexic tendencies between people who visit healthy eating websites frequently as well as between people who use social networks to follow healthy food influencers. Also, there was no difference in orthorexic tendencies between people whose work/study deals with healthy eating and those whose physical appearance is important for their job. It was found out that the wellness influencer trend is not very common in Czech society, popular influencers are mainly Czech nutritionists and fitness coaches. The...

Environmentální faktory ovlivňující tělesnou vůni člověka / The Environmental Effects on Human Body Odour

Dneboská, Tereza January 2012 (has links)
The main source of the human body odour is an axillary region. Human body odour is individually specific and results from genetic and environmental factors. Human body odour is an important sexual attractant for potential partners. It is influenced by environmental factors, such as an emotional state and health. Important environmental factors influencing human body odour are also eating habits. However, we know very little about how particular dietary components shape our body odour. Only the effect of red meat and garlic consumption have been tested. Here we tested the effect of caffeine (from usual source and guarana) and beta- carotene. In our three experiments we used a balanced within-subject experimental design. Volunteers donated twice their body odour: once after ingestion of the tested substance, second time in the control situation. Samples were then assessed for their attractiveness and intensity by group of women. Results showed that caffeine consumption may influence negatively attractiveness and intensity of human body odour. Guarana and beta-carotene did not show any significant results. These results partially confirmed that dietary factors influence the quality of the human body odour. This field should be further studied as a part of the environmental factors influencing human...

Studium vybraných aspektů modifikace proteinů pomocí β-N-acetylglukosaminu / Study of selected apects of protein modification by β-N-acetylglucosamine

Bittenglová, Kateřina January 2019 (has links)
Glycosylation O-linked β-N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) is post-translational modification of proteins, regulated by β-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase (OGT) and β-N-acetylglucosaminidase (OGA). This intracellular glycosylation differs from the other glycosylation types - it is dynamically regulated, similarly to phosphorylation, β-N-acetylglucosamine serves as a nutrient and stress sensor in cell. Chronically dysregulated O-linked glycosylation by GlcNAc is associated with pathology of various diseases, such as diabetes mellitus type II, oncological and neurodegenerative diseases. Expression of enzymes OGT and OGA is very sensitive for homeostasis of GlcNAc, which is the product of hexosamine biosynthetic pathway. Changes in expressions of these ezymes could be used as a potencial blood marker, e.g. in early stage of diabetes. The aim of this master thesis was to study changes in expression of genes encoding ezymes OGT and OGA in cohort of obese patients in comparison with healthy controls and also to compare the state before and after change of lifestyle (loosing weight). Analysed cohort comprised of 34 samples of isolated lymphocytes from peripheral blood from obese adolescent patients and 80 samples of adults patients. RNA was isolated by TriReagent, quantification of the expression of mRNA was...
