^¤åºKn The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the characteristics of telecommunication regulatory structure and regulatory policy. I will analyze the telecommunication regulatory structure and telecommunication policy in Sweden, trying to find out some principles for our government in managing the development of telecommunication. The rapid transformation of the telecommunications sector has resulted in a number of important regulatory developments. There have been three major trends in the development of regulatory institutions. First, many countries have established sector specific independent regulators that are separated from line-ministries, which have the responsibility for policy making in the sector. Second, competition authorities have been given an enhanced role in the telecommunication sector as the competition has developed. Finally, some countries are beginning to take into consideration about the integration of regulatory institutions in telecommunications and in broadcasting in the light of convergence between the two telecommunication services. After understanding these trends, I will discuss and analyze Sweden¡¦s telecommunication regulatory structure. To perfect the development of the telecommunications industry depends on four integrated systems: foreign ownership, price regulation, network interconnection and universal service systems. I will open Sweden¡¦s policy in these systems for discussion.

The fear of ‘the others’ : A comparative study of xenophobic attitudes between French and Swedish university students

Svensson, Amanda, Edblad, Rebecca January 2015 (has links)
Xenophobia is a global problem, which is constantly increasing. Previous research indicates that higher education is the key for decreasing such attitudes, but few studies have taken students opinions into consideration. Due to this, university students were interviewed in this thesis in order to get their perspective on this matter. The study also looks at the effects of the political and economic situation when developing xenophobic attitudes. Students were chosen from universities in Sweden and France due to indications that the level of xenophobia in France is one of the highest in Europe whilst Sweden has one of the lowest. The opinions of the students are compared with previous research in order to find significant patterns that could explain the increase in xenophobic attitudes. It is shown that the definition of who belongs to your group affect your views of ‘the others’ which creates the possibility to feel threatened by other groups, and therefore, create negative attitudes. The result indicates that there are some cultural disparities that might explain the difference in perception of xenophobic attitudes. Moreover, xenophobia is a complex issue that develops on a personal level due to a number of factors.

The presence of mathematics and science in preschool : The Swedish example

Mathiou, Georgia January 2015 (has links)
This paper study aims to show the presence of mathematics and science in Swedish preschools and describe how teachers integrate these subjects into their daily work. The research was a case study in a preschool in a small city<img src="https://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png" /> of Southern Sweden. The research concerns children from 3 to 5 years old and the method used was a combination of observation and interviews. Six teachers were interviewed after the observation of their daily work. Having experienced the Greek preschools, this study also points out the Greek example in a limited way, wanting to show different perspectives of the topic.

Skador inom svensk damishockey : En enkätstudie

Zahlander, Johanna, Hedman, Per January 2014 (has links)
Data insamlades fortlöpande under tre veckor i februari 2014. Flest matchskador inträffade i period 2 (45 %). Vidare studier behövs för att kunna utarbeta skadeförebyggande åtgärder framförallt för knäskador / Background: Ice hockey is a sport with high risk for injuries. The practitioners of the sport are both males and females, yet how the game is played differs due to gender and country. Mapping out injuries within the population makes a first step towards injury prevention. However, there are no studies regarding the prospect of injuries in Swedish female ice hockey.  Purpose: Mapping out age, exposure to the sport, location, occasion and time loss related to injuries. Study correlation between player age and number of injuries; exposure hours and number of injuries. Procedure: A web-based questionnaire was made in a retrospective design. The population were all players in riksserien and division 1 in Sweden during the season 2013-2014. Data were collected continuously during three weeks in February 2014. Results: The number of complete questionnaires included was 137, approximately 25 % of the population. The most common injury localisation was the knee (20 %, n = 25). Knee injuries also had the second longest absence from gameplay (mean: 6,5 weeks). The distribution of injuries between training and gameplay were equal. The highest number of injuries during gameplay occurred in the second period (45 %). A significant correlation indicated that more injuries occurred with more exposure hours. No correlation between age and injury were found.  Conclusions: This study shows, as studies on men’s ice hockey and female ice hockey in North America that knee injuries are common and that most of injuries during gameplay occurs in the second period. In opposite to previous studies this study shows no correlation between injuries and age. The head-injuries also showed lower numbers than previous studies. Further studies need to be done to work out interventions for injury prevention, especially for knee injuries.

Don't touch my hair : A Qualitative Study on Professional Norms and Meanings of Black Female Hair in Swedish Public Administration

Salem, Yohannes January 2014 (has links)
This single case study conducted with creative interviews, addresses perceptions of professional norms and meanings of black female hairstyles in Swedish public administration. By incorporating prior U.S scholarship and applying intersectional theory, black female hair is analyzed through social constructions of gender, race and class as intermeshed dimensions. This study indicates how the norms of neutrality, disadvantage black female employees in Swedish public administration, as they are subjected to stares, comments and touching of their "deviant" hairstyles. The intersectional analysis indicates how perceptions of femininity and blackness collide in problematic ways, as black professional hair is described as straight hair. Despite this, the informants were convinced that straight hair does not come naturally for black women. Concluding, this study suggests that black women may be more seriously taken, by presenting a "feminine" and "neutral" hairstyle, through subjecting themselves to perceived straight hair norms in Swedish public administration
