Previous issue date: 2016-08-09 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The research is based on matters related to contemporary photographic experimentation, as the relationship between files and publicly displayed works; the perception of broadcasting a speech about the creative process in promoting experience and knowledge in the field; the emergence of a production shaped as photographic projects whose nature turns to hybridity and heterogeneity of practices, supports and materials; and dialogues with the logic of digital environments and its consequences in the form of imagetic platforms. Faced with these new photographic conditions linked to aspects of diversity and mobility, this research offers some relevant paths to a relational criticism for photography as a complex communicative plot: the photographic thinking. The theoretical framework is formed by a multidisciplinary framework, consisting of two interconnected central axes. The first, of C. S. Peirce's semiotic base is dedicated to the relationships between Cecilia Salles' network process and Jorge Vieira and Mario Bunge's systemic, which includes concepts like organization, integrability and connectivity. The second uses the specific discussions on relevant photography to study Arlindo Machado, Rubens Fernandes, among others, along with Edgar Morin and Lucia Santaella's communication. The methodological strategy is interconnected to three moments: the relational critical study of problems linked to starter cases as projects, publications, archives, exhibitions and discussion events whose cut is guided by recurrent themes and trends; the relevant theoretical research to procedural fields, systemic and photographic; and the empirical treatment of procedural indices for the development prospects and properties that we bring to this study as the proposed photographic thinking / A pesquisa parte de algumas questões referentes à experimentação contemporânea fotográfica, como a relação entre arquivos e obras mostrados publicamente; a percepção da difusão de um discurso sobre o processo criativo na promoção da experiência e do conhecimento no campo; a emergência de uma produção sob o formato de projetos fotográficos cuja natureza volta-se para o hibridismo e heterogeneidade de práticas, suportes e materiais; e os diálogos com as lógicas dos ambientes digitais e suas decorrências sob a forma de plataformas imagéticas.

Systems Thinking and Culture in International Relations: A Foreign Policy ApproachSafdari Ghandehari, Roozbeh January 2016 (has links)
The mainstream theories of international relations (IR) can be categorized under two approaches: Cultural and Systems. Although the two approaches appear to be at the opposite ends of the spectrum, this paper aims to evaluate both approaches, and to provide a systemic approach to foreign policy: The systems thinking and culture (STC).
STC attempts to incorporate domestic culture, a unit-level force, in analyzing states’ behavior in the international system, while still preserving the structure, as emphasized in systemic theories like neorealism. The STC model shows how the domestic culture as a unit-level force, and the structure as a systems-level force, can shape a state’s behavior and policies in the international political system.
