Berglund, Martin, Englund, Adam January 2009 (has links)
Please leave a comment : A case study of value co-creation in the Swedish telecom industry

Fredrikson, Karin, Sweijer, Elin January 2013 (has links)
The customer’s role as a co-creator of value is an essential element in the service-dominant (S-D) logic, highlighting the importance for firms to develop relationships with customers through dialogue. By providing feedback customers become co-developers, and help create a competitive advantage. Moreover, the Internet offers an abundance of digital channels for dialogue. Payne et al (2008) have developed a framework for value co-creation, which in this paper is adapted to communication in digital channels, focusing on a company perspective. The purpose of this study is to investigate how companies in the Swedish telecommunication industry use digital channels, including social media, for value co-creation with customers. To enable this a case study is conducted with three network operators. The data collection consists of several interviews. Findings indicate that the companies are indeed customer-centric in their offerings, and that communication and feedback in digital channels are of strategic importance. Furthermore, changes in technology, industry logics and customer preferences offer opportunities as well as challenges. Another challenge lies in finding suitable metrics and in knowledge management. The concept of lead users is presented as a potential resource. It is concluded that communication in digital channels enhances the features of the S-D logic.

以實惠且可靠的多頻率網路服務來提升甘比亞電信之競爭力 / Improving Gamtel’s competitiveness through affordable, accessible and reliable broadband internet service in The Gambia telecom industry

黃紳佑, Khan, Sarjo Unknown Date (has links)
The main purpose of this thesis is to analyse the current state of Gamtel less competitive nature in the telecom industry and therefore use its competitive advantage and core competencies to pursue and endeavour to invest on internet service provision mainly on broadband. With high expectations from the launching of the ACE, Africa coast to Europe submarine cable, the plan is to take the opportunity brought by this Landing station to significantly expand on its current broadband technology provision, which is DSL (digital subscriber line), CDMA 3G wireless broadband connection and Leased line connection. The growth in the sector is still encouraging between 8 to 10% and Gamtel is foreseeing to increase its already existing leadership in terms of market share on the internet segment or ISP internet service provider market. There is a high capital investment required for this project but funding could be obtain from banks and even state own corporation at better rates and also self-funding of over GMD 90 million. The cash flow projections had shown a positive net present value (NPV) thus; indicating that this plan will is viable. With the three product categories, it is assume that the DSL and the CDMA 3G wireless broadband could be the cash cows whiles the leased lines connection for broadband which used to bring the biggest revenue in the data category will likely be going down, an impact the ACE project will brought along as the biggest customers from this service were the private ISP who now can connect direct to the ACE cable. As the implementation of the ACE goes on prices are expected to further fall as bandwidth becomes cheaper and cheaper and volume or high quantity purchase of bandwidth starts to emerge thus economics of scale.

Comparative Case Studies of Rent-Seeking in China’s State-Owned Enterprises: the Ministry of Railway and China Mobile

Qian, Wendy 01 January 2012 (has links)
The problem of rent-seeking in China’s state-owned enterprises has worsened since the rapid increase in infrastructure investment, such as telecom and railway. State-owned enterprise reform in China has given licensing power to officials and executives without sufficient checks and balances. The Chinese government plans to introduce corporate governance structures and encourage private investment for the previously state-dominated industries, such as the railway industry, in the next decade. Yet these formalities cannot eradicate the political problem of corruption. This thesis will examine rent-seeking through the case studies of China Mobile’s former deputy general manager and Communist Party secretary Zhang Chunjiang’s patronage network in the value-added service industry and the Ministry of Railway’s ex-Minister Liu Zhijun’s patronage networks in the high speed railway project. Both central agents committed collective rent-seeking against the will of the principal through their subsidiaries.

A study on Stock floatation and Employee Stock Ownership Plan-an example for Chunghwa Telecom Company

Lo, Yi-chun 17 June 2005 (has links)
Abstract There are lots of disadvantages such as the complicated of legal, the inefficiency of decision and the lack of performance. So the government had established ¡§The Privatization Promoting Group for the Executive Yuan of the Republic of China¡¨ in July 1989. The chairman of Council for economic planning and development was the convener. It had made a series of the privatization of stated-owned policy and planned the privatization of stated-owner¡¦s schedule according to different character. Recently stock releasing had already failed. The government, the administration and the employee was dissatisfied with the process of stock releasing. So our study mentioned the design of financial imagination. This design was that led into employee stock ownership plan in the success of the privatization of state-owned and included stock ownership of stock floatation. Both of the close-ended periods were extended to the infinite period. At last our study took an example for Chunghwa Telecom Company and evaluated this design if whether can be executed. My study found that this design could make the employee gain the director number of 1.3 to 2.6. It would enhance efficiently the director number and stabilize the employee ownership. My study expected that it had lots of advantages as follow: (1) Benefit for the privatization of stated-owned (2) Protecting the terms of the employee¡¦s equity (3) Making the employee ownership system (4) Solving the dispute between labor and capital (5) Rational for the stated-wealth¡¦s evaluation (6) Strengthening the corporate governance

Developing A Spatial Decision Support System For Telecom Wireline Infrastructure Of Ankara City

Dabanli, Ahmet 01 May 2010 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis covers database creation, system design and application development for wire line telecom infrastructure within Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and concentrates on spatial decision support applications and serving wire line subscriber coordinates for emergency calls in Ankara. The main mission of the Telecommunication in the past was to serve for voice communication activities. Currently voice, internet, data and video communications are available. These new services need better bandwidth capacity and/or renewal of infrastructure with Fiber Optical cables. Telecom has a complex wire line infrastructure, both in physical and logical topology. It is important to manage this complex infrastructure to give better services with new installation and update activities. Due to these requirements Telecom infrastructure needs to be managed with GIS, which visually provide physical and logical relationships. In this study it&rsquo / s aimed to build a GIS system for Turk Telekom (TT) including digitization of wire line cable infrastructure, geocoding subscribers and serving the coordinates of subscribers. The data layers are stored in Oracle Spatial Data Option (SDO) and spatial data information is kept in MapInfo MapCatalog. The data schemes for 81 provinces are created. The applications are developed with Borland Delphi version 7 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 .NET Framework. There are several GIS applications developed so far for the infrastructure of TT, since TT needs to know the location and quality of the infrastructure already present in the field and needs spatially to decide on areas that need maintenance including improvement, replacement, and new installations to improve the service. This study is presented as an alternative spatial decision support system for the improvement of the current infrastructure and services given to the customers, by using digitized network and geocoded subscriber data that is stored in GIS system. This study is carried out with customer participation and on site development with Telecom staff.

Hao, Yi, Yuan, Xiaoqin, Zhang, Weiqing January 2009 (has links)
Customer loyalty has been investigated in years, and its importance to corporate is understood by managers. The purpose of this paper is to find out what kinds of specific and concrete operational factors have an important impact on Chinese mobile telecom customer loyalty. Firstly, a model was established to represent the relationship between customer loyalty and its influencing factors (customer satisfaction, perceived quality, customer value, switching cost and corporate image). 11 specific and concrete operational factors were found according to Chinese mobile telecom industry which were never been studied by the pre-researchers. Secondly, a survey of questionnaire has been conducted which help to found out that the 9 factors (call quality, coverage of area, SMS quality, the convenience and reliability of Inquiring phone fee system, service quality of service center and hotline, rating price of given quality, customer’s worry of troubles after change cell phone number, social responsibility, advertisements about corporate image) have an important impact on customer loyalty on Chinese mobile telecom industry. Thirdly, separating these 9 factors into 3 groups through investigate the performance of customer loyalty in China Mobile. At last, some recommendations were given to China Mobile

The role of the state in the privatization of telecommunications : a comparison between British Telecom and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone

Stoytcheva, Bistra. January 2000 (has links)
This thesis contains an analysis of the role of the state in the privatization of two of the world's largest telecommunications operators, British Telecom (BT) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), illustrated by a comparative examination of the different means of intervention of the state at the three stages of the process, and the impact that state intervention has on the corporate governance of the enterprises concerned. / Chapter 1 clarifies the notions of privatization and control. The subsequent chapters are organized on the basis of the percentage of shares held by the state. Chapter 2 analyzes the legal problems accompanying "complete control" of the state during the corporatization stage of privatization, in which there is a one-man stock company with the state as sole shareholder. Chapter 3 outlines the different private and public law devices used by the state in order to exercise "internal control" on the company after the sale of part or all of the government-owned ordinary shares. Chapter 4 focuses on the "external control" which is the last weapon of the state to monitor enterprises that are already deemed to be "privatized" from an ownership point of view. Réseaux de capteurs ad-hoc Ultra Wide Band : une analyse multi couche

Panaitopol, Dorin 05 July 2011 (has links) (PDF)
