The purpose of this study was to compare selected factors in undergraduate programs in business teacher education in Texas with criteria recommended for business teacher education. The factors selected were: (1) the business teacher education curriculum, (2) professional laboratory experiences of prospective business teachers, and (3) educational preparation, experience, and professional activities of the business education college faculty.

The problem of this study was to determine the status and practices of supervisors of secondary student teachers in Texas colleges and universities and to compare these practices with those practices recommended by national authorities in the field of student teaching.

The problem of this study is concerned with the history, trends, and evaluation of the summer workshop movement for teachers in the United States. In addition, a study was made of the Child Development Workshop conducted on the campus of the North Texas State Teachers College, Denton, Texas, during the summer of 1942.

The purpose of this study was to discover how the senior colleges of Texas are meeting their student-teaching problems.

This research was two-fold in its purpose: the first purpose being to assess the perceived relevance of the current state competency standards adopted in Texas by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) as they apply to the work of the educational diagnostician and the second being to examine the diagnostician's perceived ability of training institutions to prepare professionals for the field of special education evaluation. This study examined the perceptions of educational diagnosticians (N = 432) through the use of a survey instrument. Specifically the survey instrument was designed to assess diagnosticians' perceptions of importance of the SBEC competencies to special education evaluation in general, and to their practice in particular; the frequency with which they use the competencies; and their degree of training to meet the demands of the competencies through their preparatory program. Results indicate variability with regard to the perceived importance of the competencies and the degree of preparation to meet the demands of the competencies in practice.

The purpose of this study is to gather information related to the professional status of the science teachers in the four-year accredited high schools of Texas for the school year 1952-1953. The principal concern of the study is "Who is teaching science?"

The problem with which this study is concerned is to conduct an analysis of the secondary teacher education program at Texas A & I University at Kingsville in determining the extent the program meets the needs of its graduates and to recommend improvements based on these findings. The purposes of this study are to investigate the effectiveness of the program in providing educational theories and practices, subject area knowledge and general knowledge to enable its graduates to function effectively in their societal roles as individuals and teachers. It is also a purpose of this study to solicit the graduates' opinions concerning the program's strengths and weaknesses.

This was a qualitative study designed to document the historical process which brought about a performance-centered accountability (or results-based) system in educator preparation in Texas as reflected in the documents of the first 17 institutions approved under the new approval process for educator preparation. The study will also serve as a historical record which used the change process in political systems to analyze the adoption of the Accountability System for Educator Preparation (ASEP). Additionally, the study provided a thorough review of the literature on Michael Fullan's Change Process Model and David Easton's Political Systems Model.
