Hrad Švihov / Švihov Castle

Koptíková, Lenka January 2014 (has links)
The state Švihov Castle is located in the eponymous town in the western part of Bohemia. Půta Švihovský built this unconquerable object in 1480 near the Uhlava river. Other owners of the castle include the Říčanští's from the town of Říčan in the 16th century, and then the Černín's from the town of Chudenic, who owned the building until the end of the Second World War. This castle was not only used as a home of the Lord, but moreover, it was used for agricultural purposes beginning in the 18th century. After the war, all the Černín's property was confiscated, and the castle has since been owned by the government. After the castle's submission to the government, numerous construction has been performed which continues to this day. The majority of the restoration took place under the direction of Břetislav Storm, M.A.E. Furthermore, in subsequent years, the castle has served multiple purposes such as archaeological and historical research, restoration and construction activities and also many movies have been filmed there. The castle has been recognized as a national cultural monument, and has been managed by the National Heritage Institute since 2002. It has become a popular place to visit, not only because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness, but also because various cultural and social events...

Zámek Kácov / Castle and Village Kácov

Závěta, Jan January 2011 (has links)
The graduation theses "Kacov Castle" by Jan Závěta deals with the foundation, development and reconstruction of Kacov strongholds and later of the mansion up to the present. The main part of the thesis is related to historical development of the Kacov Castle and its extensive Baroque reconstruction during the reign of Toscan Princess. The author separately depicts the constructional-historical exploration of the castle and corroborates it with a copious photodocumentation. The architecture of the square, vicarage and the Church of Virgin Mary is brought in in other chapters. The Baroque sculptural group of The Fourteen Saint Servants, which was made under the previously mentioned Toscan Princess as well, is described in the same way. The author pursues the development of the community during the first half of the 20th century, when the village experienced the second golden age after the period of the Toscan Princess. Every year the community was visited by thousands of summer guests. The life there was very abundant, which he furnishes with "Sokol", decorative, theatral and other institutions' activities. In the last chapters the author occupies himself with the development of the village up to the present. He highlights so much needed, albeit fiscally challenging reconstruction of the Kacov...

Att skapa en plats : - En studie av historiebruk i form av web-baserad marknadsföring av tre Vasaslott

Palmqvist Gillman, Andrea January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of my research has been to analyze the communi-cation of three cultural heritages and how they are being ex-posed on their respective webpages. The essay has also touched the subject as to how webpages can, through marketing of cul-tural heritages, create a connection to the marketed locations and their cultural environment. A phenomenon you could call “creating a location”. My study has also resulted in an under-standing of how historical sites as cultural actors position them-selves to attract visitors to the location. In this study I will fo-cus on only three of Sweden’s many renaissance castles. These three are Calmare-, Vadstena- and Gripsholm’s castle. My sources consist of the above mentioned cultural heritag-es own webpages, their administrators as well as their partner’s webpages. The information which is communicated in connec-tion to, or directly with the cultural heritages demonstrates what is relevant and important to see and experience.By illuminating these attributes, the possibility for self-interpretation of the cultural landscape can be lessened. Instead, a more direct picture can be created as of what the visitor should relate to and remember of the location. This way, the actors create a location.
