Non-profit Organizations in ¡§Plan of Expanding Employment¡¨ : Great Kaohsiung regionsChiu, Jui-hsing 20 August 2004 (has links)
The unbalance of Taiwan employment environment and the economic recession have caused the unemployment rate to rise steadily. In order to resolve this situation, Council of Labor Affairs proposes several schemes and plans. One of the plans is the ¡§Plan of Expanding Employment¡¨. This plan encourages the third system to create more regional working opportunities with creative experimental methods, will of cooperation and combine government and public resources to re-involve the unemployed back to the labor structure.
Due to the high unemployment rate in the southern region of Taiwan, the research in this book will study the participation of non-profit organizations in this ¡§Plan of Expanding Employment¡¨. The interviews and surveys will be undertaken in this study to analyze the role and operation in this plan through the view of ¡§social capital¡¨. The followings are the brief findings of this study.
First of all, the non-profit organizations should upgrade professional management and service regularly. Meanwhile, they need to cooperate with similar organizations in terms of strategy alliance and information sharing.
Secondly, in theory, it is necessary to keep the ¡§Social Plan¡¨ because to protect and secure the minority in the society. However, it needs to be improved technically which means that the non-profit organizations should conduct the plan to provide voluntary working opportunities in the society to extend ¡§Plan of Expanding Employment¡¨.
Thirdly, the planning of the policy should have tangible progress and amendment to reflect the demand and supply in the employment environment.
Finally, this research is studied in the view of ¡§social capital¡¨ to analyze the interaction between the plan and the employment environment and the direction of the plan. As the result, this research will provide another direction and thought to the observation of employment policy and become a reference to other associated researches.

The Research of the pricing of the Mobile TelecommunicationYeh, Ke-wei 17 July 2006 (has links)
In recent years, mobile phone service has become the most popular term of telecommunication service. However, in back of the complex pricing plans and promotion plans, there are some interesting tropics. For example, how does a mobile phone service operator price the on-net and off-net charges? What is the factor that makes the off-net charges more expensively than the on-net one? And which principle is adopted to design the multiple pricing plans by the operators?
In this study, we will make some amendment for the Hotelling Model, and set a new model which be called the Psychological Differential Model, that can expectably explain the eventuality which a man has a lot of phone number from different operators simultaneously. Besides, it will add a factor which will derogate the network externalities of the utility of mobile phone service. Mathematically, we use the way of ¡§Two-stage Market Pricing¡¨ to develop the equilibrium of on-net and off-net charges. By the cost pricing method, we can find the access fee will cause off-net charges more expensively than on-net one in the chapter three of this paper. Finally, in the chapter four, this study will introduce the principle of the third price discrimination to explain the outcome of multiple pricing plans.

Toward the 3G telecommunication system-The Analysis of Business Strategies of Telecommunication OperatorsHuang, Vincent 25 August 2003 (has links)
Abstract
Mobile phone is one essential communication product to most Taiwanese nowadays. As the market approaching its full capacity, service providers are now facing more competitions than ever. Some much lower profit and decreasing number of users can also be expected. Hence all the telecommunication service providers are trying to increase their revenue through providing mobile digital services to compensate the decreasing revenue from voice sector.
To be more precisely, telecommunication service providers are not solely telecomm operators after the integration with mobile data transfer. Mobile phone system is also changing from telecommunication system to a multifunctional mobile communication system.
3G (The 3rd Generation Mobile System) is the solution that meets new mobile communication requirements. The system is based in a new technology of wireless communication with a very high speed access to the Internet services. Mobility is the basic requirement of mobile networking service, the 3G system is enhancing the capability of mobile communication that allows us accessing the Internet, enjoying the multimedia entertainment, inquiring information, and doing mobile business anywhere.
3G is also giving the mobility to modern business activities. For instance, users can now accessing data, sharing interactive application software, and attending video conference through Internet and Intranet services. While users can now performing all these activities in anytime and place, the service boundaries between telecommunication, information, media, and entertainment will disappear. All these services will now be integrated, current fixed services will soon turn into mobile. We can watch video clips and receiving emails in the same time, also play on-line games with friends in any different corner around the world.
From 9.6Kbps to 2Mbps, the data transmission speed of 3G system is 40 times faster than GSM system. It may now take 2 minutes to send a multimedia message with a
photo and voice attachment, but in the future 3G system, it will be done within 5 minutes.
Nonetheless, the 3G system is not only providing high speed data transfer services, but also the convenience of accessing data. The core technology of 3G is packed Internet Protocol which allows users to get wired anytime. Emails can easily be downloaded to the mobile phone handset too. Just press one button, employees can easily get connected with their company. Service providers will charge only when the users are retrieving data from the Internet, otherwise all services are free.
The application of wireless services will be extended in the future. The needs of interaction between consumers and mobile equipment, also between one equipment and another will continue increasing. These interactions include system failure noticing, new order placing, or data transmitting. In addition to the telecommunication operators, businesses can also take good advantages of 3G to develop new applications. 3G will be a part of our life in the future.
The licenses of 3G operators have already been issued in February 2002. How firms can develop one successful business model of mobile strategy has already become the critical issue for these operators. This research is focusing on the reactions of telecommunication market after the introduction of 3G services. The research topics include exploring the technical problems of 3G system, analyzing the impact of current GPRS, i-mode, MMS, WLAN, PHS to the 3G system, also examining the attitudes of different governments in launching the 3G system in the global market. A conclusion remark will be made with the analysis of current operations of services providers and the future trend of the market.

En precisionsstudie av förstärkt verklighet som positioneringsverktygDidriksson, Mattias, Blomkvist, Anders January 2015 (has links)
This study investigates augmented reality using third person perspective and what precision can be achieved by using this method. There have been prior studies in regards to precision using augmented reality, however studies using third person perspective is scarce. This study presents a solution using a static camera capturing the user as well as the plane to augment from behind. This augmented image is then transferred to a handheld device that is held by the user. Using this method the user will be free to manipulate and work with the plane without removing the device that captures the scene, a common problem when using visual reference markers in augmented reality. The study successfully shows that this can be implemented without compromising user experience as well as achieving a precision below 13 millimeters. The AR-tool has been proven to reduce time consumption of the task by up to four times compared to the manual method using a folding ruler.

Community on the Menu: Seven-Courses to Cultivate Familial Bonds, Exchange Social Capital, and Nourish CommunityPurnell, David Franklin 01 January 2013 (has links)
This dissertation is an auto/ethnographic account, which examines food, close personal friendships, and community. The research combines autoethnography with ethnographic observations and personal/group interviews conducted within the Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. The observations are of a weekly dinner event referred to by most attendees as Family Dinner. I am one of the founders of this event; the participants of this study are neighbors (or were at some point in time) as well as past and present attendees of the weekly dinner.
The purpose of this research is to illustrate how food can be a tool to build community. In the Seminole Heights neighborhood, food acts as a communicator/builder of community and produces (a) nourishment for close personal bonds, and (b) sustainment of social capital. The nourishment and sustainment are made possible through (c) interaction. While there are many works of literature that discuss the topics of food, bonds, social capital, and interaction, little has been written on how these aspects function synergistically to create community. Using literature that speaks to food, close personal bonds, social capital, and interactions, I examine how these key aspects integrate with the ideas of community and their relationship to community building. I specifically address how people form community around the sharing of food and social interactions. In order to do so, I explore the role food plays in nourishing this community and look at how people experience and participate in community through the sharing of food.
There are three areas comprising my research.
1. First, the observations describe the interactions of the community.
2. Secondly, the interviews give a sense of the weekly dinners from participants who still attend, who no longer live close enough to continue attending, and who have stopped attending for reasons other than their proximity to the neighborhood.
3. Lastly, the weaving of ethnography with autoethnography allows for a reflexive view of what these dinners mean, not only to myself, but also to those who participated in this research project. This study focuses on what constitutes community according to participants--their conceptions of community. In Addition, it illustrates the role food plays in nourishing community, and the participant's role in sustaining community.
