Tillfälliga modulhus - en ekonomisk och kvalitetsmässig analysAbrahamsson, Mickael, Berg, Simon January 2016 (has links)
The populations of Sweden are right now facing an acute housing shortage. One of the reasons of this is the huge amount of immigrants that have been taken in over recent years. The construction industry hasn’t been able to keep up with the rising demand and is right now looking for a solution. Modular housing is one solution that has been proposed by Boverket, the national board of housing, building and planning as it reduces construction times. The purpose of this paper is to analyze this method and the potential consequences/gains it has. In this paper we have used three different case studies were we have done 3 interviews in each. This research concludes that the problem doesn’t lie within the quality or the costs associated with modular housing. It lies within the temporary building permits that are often used when time is of the essence.

En studie av modulskolans beständighet / An analysis of the modular school’s durabilityWallentén, Robin, Westin, Anna January 2022 (has links)
When departments within schools for various reasons are unable to house its students in theirregular buildings, pavilion schools are frequently used as a replacement. The Academic world isin constant change and hence in continuous need to adapt to new and updated requirementsand demands. This entails that the way how buildings traditionally are built must bereconsidered due to its adaptability. These days, pavilion schools, are viewed as expensive andtemporary solutions simultaneously as the population of schools in Sweden are both old andoutdated. When building a school in Uppsala today, Uppsala Skolfastigheter, must build it to ahigher standard than what is normally used when building a pavilion school. The society itselfhas started to adept in the idea of building a temporary module permanently, some of them withthe utmost standards, but the academic world is still resilient. The following work is performed in collaboration with Uppsala Skolfastigheter, the municipaladministrator of the academic population in Uppsala. The idea of the work is to enlighten oneaspect in the debate of pavilion schools’ opportunities that has not been treated earlier, meaning the pavilion schools’ construction and its durability. Initially the work started with ascreening of the module trade, in which a broader understanding of the suppliers’ view wasadapted. Interviews with operating technicians, project leaders and executive directors wascompleted in addition to visits at the chosen schools, to spark an insight in how a pavilionschool contradicts from a permanently built school regarding to quality and durability.Additionally, the schools’ plans of maintenance and rapports of errors was compared to seewhere they contradict historically and regarding planned support in the future. The visits to the schools entails information that the school buildings are differently exposed towear depending on the age of the students as well as the section of the building. In preschoolsthe wear is relatively low, in elementary schools it is somewhat higher and in high schools thewear is mainly due to vandalism and sabotage. During the visits the permanently built schoolswas perceived as less worn, the pavilion schools however had less remarks regarding to itsmaintenance and can hence be seen as more durable. From the interviews it is clear that theacademic world is still resilient towards pavilion schools, regarding expenses, quality andcomfort. Nonetheless, their view might need to change going forward, thus the pavilion schoolsare high in quality and brings possibilities in how the continuous change of needs and demandscan be dealt with in the future.
