Sundbybergs bygg & formgymnasium är inhyst i en del av byggnaden på Prästgårdsgatan 3 i kvarteret Kronan. Kvarteret ligger nära Sundbybergs centrum aldeles intill Sturegatan somär en av områdets mest besökta gator. Det kuperade kvarteret kantas på två sidor av befintlig bebyggelse som har en höjd på mellan 20 och 40m. Den nya skolan är formgiven för att fungera som ett volym- och estetikmässtigt komplement för dessa två byggnader. I och med en stor rådande efterfrågan på studie-, bostads-, och kontorslokaler är denna byggnad formgiven för att rymma samtliga dessa beståndsdelar. Mängden av respektive verksamhet avgörsav efterfrågan. Byggnaden består av ett pelar-balk system som bryts av ett atrium som sträcker sig i husets längdriktning. Innerväggarna är utformade enligt en staplingspricip för att kunna plockas ned och byggas upp igen. Detta för att tillgodose ändrade behov över tid. Byggnaden är klädd av en regelbunden glasfasad som bryts i varje våningsplan där glaspartierna ramas in av trädbeklädda aluminiumprofiler. Byggnadens glasfasad reflekterar sin omgivning och tar förhållandevis lite plats i stadsrummet trots sin stora volym. / Sundbyberg construction and form secondary school is housed in a portion of the building on Prästgårdsgatan 3 in a block called Kronan. The neighborhood is close to central Sundbyberg and located next to the busiest street in town, called Sturegatan. The hilly neighborhood is lined on two sides by existing buildings that has a height of between 20 and 40m. The new school is designed to work as a copliment to theese two buildings. With a large current demand of student housing, apartmentsl and office space, this building is designed to accommodate all of these ingredients. The amount of each activity is decided by demand. The building consists of a beam and post system that is split by an atrium that extends in the housing longitudinal direction. The interior walls are designed according to a stacking principle to allow the walls to be taken down and be rebuilt. This is to cater to the changing needs over time. The building is clad in a continious glass facade that is broken off in every floor by glass panels framed by wooded aluminum profiles. The building's glass facade reflects its environment and therefore makes litte noise in the urban space, despite its large volume.
