Simulace kooperativního dohledu pomocí bezpilotních letounů za použití platforem Pogamut a USARsim / Simulation of Multi-UAV Cooperative Surveillance Using Pogamut and USARSim

The main objective of this thesis is to introduce a simulation platform, which has been developed utilizing Pogamut and USARSim, for cooperative aerial surveillance using multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The graphical user interface (GUI) of the simulator contains the automatically created bird's eye view of a 3D virtual environment. This is used to enter locations and parameters of objects (UAVs, charging stations and areas) and also to visualize the process of a simulation. The thesis proposes a system for the analysis of the quality of surveillance, whose results are presented in the GUI in the form of a time graph and a heat map. Part of the proposed platform is a UAV objective-based control system including charging stations scheduling. A total of seven algorithms for cooperative surveillance has been implemented, tested in three different scenarios and analyzed for coverage quality. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

A Game of Drones : Cyber Security in UAVs / Att hacka drönare : De vanligaste tillvägagångssätten

As Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are getting more popular and their area of use is expanding rapidly, the security aspect becomes important to investigate. This thesis is a systematic literature review that examines which type of cyber attacks are most common among attacks directed at civilian use UAVs and what consequences they bring. All cyber attacks presented in the report are categorized using the STRIDE threat model, which risk they pose and what equipment is required for the adversary to follow through with the attack. The findings are that Spoofing and Denial of Service attacks are the most common cyber attack types against UAVs and that hijacking and crashing are the most common results of the attacks. No equipment that is difficult to access is required for either of the attack types in most cases, making the result an indicator that the security state for civilian use UAVs today needs improving. / Obemannade luftburna farkoster (OLF) blir mer vanliga allteftersom deras användningsområde utökas, vilket innebär att cybersäkerhetsaspekten behöver studeras. Detta arbete är en systematisk litteraturstudie som undersöker vilka typer av cyberattacker riktade mot drönare som är vanligast och vilka risker de medför. Attackerna i rapporten är kategoriserade med hjälp av metoden STRIDE samt efter vilka mål attackerna haft och vilken utrustning som krävs. Resultatet är att Spoofing och Denial of Service-attacker är vanligast och att de medför att attackeraren kan kapa eller krascha drönaren. Ingen svåråtkomlig utrustning krävs för någon av dessa attacktyper vilket indikerar att säkerhetsläget för civila drönare behöver förbättras.

Optimizing Remote Sensing Methodology for Burial Mounds in the United States and United Kingdom

Within the archaeological record ‘mounds’ are often ubiquitous. They are common in many ancient cultures, and they vary in size, construction techniques and use. This research is focused upon optimizing the use of remote sensing for the non-invasive study of mounds both in the United States and the United Kingdom. This thesis presents three representative earthen mound sites and proposes a comprehensive and modular survey methodology to guide the planning and execution of a mound survey tailored to the unique requirements presented by the cultural resource at a particular location. In doing so, the research has provided optimized approaches to high resolution three-dimensional topographic models using a variety of digital methods. These models have been shown to accurately capture the variability of the modern ground surface, which is of vital importance to the management of the mounds. Furthermore, these models have proved vital for integrating geophysical methods into the holistic workspace, thereby providing a better archaeological understanding of the below ground remains. Every mound surveyed presented different challenges, and therefore had to be approached in a slightly different way. However, the general methodology was highly effective for both characterizing below-ground archaeological and natural anomalies, and for assessing the state of preservation of all mounds surveyed. As a result, a flowchart has been generated for non-invasive assessment of mounds in general. If followed, this will allow the production of a “snapshot” of the mound or mound group at a fixed point in time with the resolution necessary to produce useful and insightful interpretation. While this research focuses on the application of geophysical and topographic survey in the United Kingdom and United States to a mound or mound group, this methodology and the associated outcomes can be valuable more globally not only for archaeology, but also heritage management.

Stabilizační a autopilotní systém pro RC model letadla / Stability and autopilot system for airplane RC model

The master thesis deals with design and realization of stabilizing and autopilot system, which is used in radio controlled model planes. The thesis contains a proposal of hardware platform, which is able to control the plane model based on data measured from a sensor system. Moreover, this thesis describes a software implementation of individual modules, which is measured the onboard values. The basic principles of stabilization and autonomous flight control are also summarized. In conclusion, the system is subjected to flight tests.
