This work focuses on the service quality and user satisfaction at the University Restaurant at UFSM/Frederico Westphalen-RS Campus. The service quality, originally related only to products, is also concerned with the service offered. Therefore, the general objective of this study is to analyze the service quality provided at the University Restaurant to the academic community from the UFSM/ Frederico Westphalen Campus and its impacts in the users’ satisfaction. The specific objectives are centered in analyzing and discussing the service quality from dimensions of the SERVPERF Scale, making a data survey of the clientele’s satisfaction level, identifying the critical points and substantiate the proposal of improvements together with the manager. Data was collected through questionnaires with mostly closed questions, which aimed at investigating the users’ profiles, opinion and level of satisfaction regarding the service offered. The criteria of participation was defined, the participant sample was calculated, and the research was carried out during the first term of 2016. Then, there was a discussion about the results, analysing the participants’ profiles, correlation and regression of the obtained data. Results show the existence of a relation between quality and user satisfaction. The results from this study aim to contribute to the improvement of services in the restaurant analysed and afterwards its objective is to contribute to the planning of a new university restaurant to be constructed in the UFSM/Campus Frederico Westphalen-RS. / O presente trabalho centra-se na qualidade da prestação de serviço e satisfação dos usuários do Restaurante Universitário da UFSM/Campus Frederico Westphalen-RS. A qualidade na prestação de serviços, originalmente relacionada a produtos, faz-se presente também na área da prestação de serviços. Dessa forma, o objetivo geral do estudo é analisar a qualidade do serviço prestado no Restaurante Universitário (RU) à comunidade acadêmica da UFSM do campus de Frederico Westphalen (RS) e seu impacto na satisfação dos usuários. Os objetivos específicos centram-se em analisar e discutir a qualidade dos serviços a partir das dimensões da Escala SERVPERF, levantar o nível de satisfação dos clientes, identificar os pontos críticos e fundamentar a proposta de melhorias junto ao gestor. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida com a aplicação de um questionário, formado majoritariamente por questões fechadas, que visavam identificar o perfil dos respondentes, a opinião sobre a prestação de serviços do restaurante e o nível de satisfação. Definiu-se o critério de participação dos estudantes, calculou-se a amostra dos participantes e a realização da pesquisa ocorreu durante o primeiro semestre letivo de 2016. Após, houve a discussão dos resultados, analisando-se o perfil dos respondentes e efetuando correlação e regressão dos dados obtidos. Destaca-se que os resultados demonstraram a existência de relação entre qualidade e satisfação dos usuários. Os resultados obtidos visam proporcionar contribuições para a melhoria da prestação de serviços no restaurante analisado e, posteriormente, contribuir também para o planejamento do novo restaurante universitário a ser construído na UFSM/Campus Frederico Westphalen-RS.
