Ukraina, ett land som står emellan två världar : Realistiskt och liberalistiskt perspektiv på Rysslands och EU:s ställning gentemot Ukrainakrisen. En kvalitativ jämförande fallstudie.

Melkie, Nicole January 2020 (has links)
This thesis is a qualitative comparative case study aimed at exploring the viewpoints of two opposing international relations perspectives, realism and liberalism. The aim is to pursue an interpretation of the study through the use of theories. Realism focuses on state security, military power and the survival of the state. Liberalism reflects on the worldviews, identity and ideas. The theories present four main principles in each theory of the conflict and the contradictions between the theory’s point of view give the study a deeper interpretation of Russia’s and EU’s position in the Ukraine conflict.   The study has shown that both Russia and the EU have potential explanations in terms of IR-theories. Realism and liberalism complement each other, showing that the positions of Russia and the EU are equal and different, which shows similarities and differences in theory. These two perspectives provide explanations for the Ukrainian crisis from two different levels. Realism provides the main explanation at the individual level and the individual actors and liberalism provides the main explanation at the general level and on the international arena.

A Discourse Analysis of the Crimean Speech: Vladimir Putin's Testimony / A Discourse Analysis of the Crimean Speech: Vladimir Putin's Testimony

Sosnovskykh, Volodymyr January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis analyses Vladimir Putin's justification of the annexation of Crimea based on an interpretation of the discourse used in his Crimean Speech. The research uses the "Discourse- Historical Approach," inspired by Critical Discourse Analysis, as the methodological and conceptual foundation of the analysis. In addition, it incorporates other linguistic and social representation theories. The historical background of Crimea and Ukraine is used as a basis for assessing Russia's claim on Crimea. The analysis is categorized into four appeals: 1) the appeal to common history and culture; 2) the appeal to historical military involvement; 3) the appeal to justice; and 4) the appeal to international law. The appeals are contextualized using broader historical themes associated with the discourses used by Putin to justify the annexation. The interpretation is informed by historical context within each category. In the conclusion, the research presents the finalized interpretation, in which Putin's justification for the annexation of Crimea is shown to be constructed using the manipulation and selective recounting of historical facts. This diploma thesis uses a close textual reading and analysis of Vladimir Putin's Crimean Speech to expose the myths and manipulations he uses as a justification...

Rusko v rámci ukrajinské vládní diskuze: Od Krymu k Minsku II / Russia in the Ukrainian governmental discourse: From Crimea to Minsk II

Krupskyi, Ivan January 2018 (has links)
Since 2014, the increased interest of academia to the Ukrainian-Russian relations was reflected in the growing number of publications on this problematics. In spite of this fact, there still exists a research gap on representations of Russia in Ukrainian discourses, which are often taken as self- obvious. This in turn may lead to incomplete understanding of Ukrainian policies towards Russia. The specific aim of this work is to provide an additional instrument for understanding Ukraine's foreign policy towards Russia. In order to provide an insight into the way the Ukrainian government perceived Russia, discourse analysis of chosen articulations was conducted. As this work demonstrates, the central element of representations of Russia in the Ukrainian governmental discourse were systematic attempts to delegitimize the Russian foreign policy towards Ukraine through undermining legitimacy of the Russian leadership. This was done in a number of ways: the discourse actively used historical dimension and constructed categorization of good and bad periods of Ukrainian-Russian relations, characterized Russia as archaic, non-civilized and aggressive, and separated Russian political elites from Russian citizens, thereby undermining internal legitimacy of the current Russian regime. At the same time, the...

Sekuritizace Ruska: vnímání Ruska jako hrozby ze strany pobaltských států / Securitizing Russia: the Baltic states perception of Russia as a threat

Zybeleva, Daria January 2019 (has links)
The thesis proposes the analytical review on how the Baltic States, namely, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia perceive Russia as a threat to their national security by addressing and evaluating the main changes in their security policies. To analyze the changes and differences in their perception, the securitization theory is applied. Following the most recent changes in the security environment in Europe, starting from the Ukraine crisis and annexation of Crimea in 2014, supplementary theoretic concept such as security dilemma is used for better understanding of the challenges that the Baltic States/NATO - Russia relations face. The main goal of this thesis is to provide a detailed overview of how Russian interference in Ukraine's domestic affairs, created a sense of anxiety in the Eastern Europe and affected security sectors of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia. Keywords: the Baltic States, Russia, Ukraine Crisis, Securitization theory, Security Dilemma, NATO

Unterstützung der ukrainischen Behörden beim Ausbau der verbesserten betrieblichen Überwachung für die KKW Rovno und Saporoshje

Beyer, Matthias, Carl, Helmar January 2001 (has links)

Heating Tariff System In Donetsk

Ageyev, Victor January 2011 (has links)
In different countries, such as Ukraine and Sweden, there have been differences in the way of administrating the systems which dictate the way of living and the way the societies function. Different approaches have been adopted over the time when it came to setting up the rules for how the state´s vital organizations, such as tax administration, health care, police, army, education system and many others should work and function. The idea in many modern countries is the same, but the ways and procedures can differ a great deal from country to country. This applies to the sphere of district heating services as well. The purpose of this thesis is to gain understand with the help of economic theory why heating tariffs are managed in a country that has had transition from plan economy to market economy the way they are, and how the management of heating tariffs could be improved when taking into account the experience of a country with long established market economy. During field studies performed in Sweden and Ukraine, particularly in the city of Donetsk, a comparative analysis of the two heating tariff systems have been performed in order to outline and highlight the differences between them and to answer the main questions of the study. The results include the status report of the situation concerning the district heating tariff systems in Sweden and Ukraine, comparative analysis of the two systems and suggestion on improvements of the district heating tariff system in the city of Donetsk. The outcomes and suggested improvements do not provide the full picture and all the aspects of the situation, due to the fact that more extensive studies, involving larger resources, would have to be conducted in the area. However, the report provides a good starting point for further studies within the field of district heating tariffs in Ukraine and Sweden.
