Market Analysis of AI Decentralized Industrial Heating Processes : The Case of AI integrated microwave heating technology

Madagashira Satish, Harshith Rao January 2023 (has links)
The combination of artificial intelligence (AI) with microwave heating technology is offering a unique and specialized potential, leading to significant transformations across numerous sectors. This novel device integrates artificial intelligence technology with environmentally sustainable microwave heating, offering the potential to decrease human labour, improve precision, minimize expenses, and promote efficiency. Furthermore, it makes a substantial contribution towards achieving environmental objectives via the reduction of carbon emissions and the conservation of energy. This research investigates the economic viability of an innovative microwave heating system that utilizes artificial intelligence technology. Additionally, it evaluates the system's competitive strengths when compared to established industrial heating systems. Key insights are identified via the use of qualitative research methods, namely through the implementation of semi-structured interviews with a sample size of six industry specialists. Thematic analysis is employed to analyse the collected data. The VRIO framework is used to identify the competitive advantages of the decentralized AI microwave heating system. The results of the study demonstrate that this technological innovation not only effectively mitigates carbon emissions but also resonates with environmentally aware individuals, hence fostering the principles of sustainability. Furthermore, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) not only improves the overall user experience but also provides autonomous monitoring capabilities, hence significantly increasing energy efficiency. From an economic standpoint, the implementation of decentralized AI microwave entities results in a reduction of transportation costs, hence enhancing their economic viability. Nevertheless, the achievement of effective commercialization requires meticulous examination of market dynamics, consumer trends, operational capabilities, supply chain optimization, and maintenance preparedness.

Stockholm Valley; the new Silicon Valley? : - A qualitative research study of organizational resources and capabilities obtained through the Stockholm cluster to create international competitiveness for tech startups.

Corell, Elsa, Pkhikleshvili, Kristina January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of the thesis was to identify the tech startups main organizational resources and capabilities received from the Stockholm cluster. Correspondently, how those encourage to sustained competitive advantage internationally. The aim was to ensure a deeper understanding with a qualitative research method with a multiple case study and an abductive approach. The empirical findings were based on seven case companies that were committing within the tech sector and were internationalized. Further, the literature review takes off with the definition of the segment, namely the tech startups followed by industrial cluster, the network - and social network theory, the Resource-based view with concertation on the different firms’ resources, the VRIO framework, and capabilities, and thereby internationalization including international competitiveness. The conceptual framework has illustrated the correlation between investigated variables, mentioned above. Moreover, the empirical findings chapter was constituted of primary data presented by the seven companies. The analysis was established on the basis of the three voices, which are theoretical, empirical and authors to examine contrast and correlation with each other. The analysis part was followed by a conclusion chapter that presented the main findings/conclusions, thus answered the research question. In addition, the chapter provided with implications, , limitation and recommendations for future research.   The findings displayed that the main organizational resources and capabilities obtained from Stockholm consist of human and financial capital, alliances and relationships, innovation/technology and reputation. However, they are only three of them that bring sustained competitive advantage, which are the human capital, alliance and relationships, and reputation capability.

Retail and CSR : How can active CSR work be considered a long-term competitive advantage?

Johansson, Gustav, Schyberg, Matilda January 2018 (has links)
It has become a general knowledge that the future of the earth rests in the hands of humankind. A continued over-exploitation of resources in interaction with the significant greenhouse gases being emitted is consequently devastating to society. Just the retail sector is an industry that contributes to the significant negative effects on society, partly due to the negative emissions that occur in the production of certain products and partly because of the huge food waste every day when products pass” best before dates”. Research has shown that several retail companies today choose to pay regard to their CSR commitment (contribution to a more sustainable society) as a resource. However, retailing faces many significant risks and public criticism in relation to how they consider their CSR commitment as a resource. Given the increased awareness and consideration of CSR as a resource in relation to the problematic retail trade, it is therefore important to investigate: How active CSR work can be regarded as a long term competitive advantage (within retail)? Which aims to understand the relationship between retail and CSR activities. The study will be based on the resource based view and the VRIO-framework. The former aims at identifying a company's competitive advantage while the VRIO-framework analyzes how the competitive benefits can be long term. The study used a qualitative method in which semi-structured interviews have been used in meetings with three major companies in the retail sector in Sweden. Furthermore, the companies' documents were also examined. The result revealed that we cannot draw a general conclusion about whether active CSR work can be considered as a long-term competitive advantage or not, but it should be seen as a potential source for achieving long term competitive advantage. On the other hand, the study concluded that a company's CSR commitment will be decisive in order to remain in the future market.
