Šiame darbe nagrinėjamos Lietuvos viešųjų pirkimų sistemos efektyvumo didinimo galimybės. Šiuo darbu siekiama parodyti, kad centralizavus viešuosius pirkimus sistema pradėtų veikti žymiai efektyviau, nes centralizuota sistema yra mažiau jautri rizikoms, o tai padidina skaidrumą ir užtikrina atskaitomybę, padeda taupyti valstybės išlaidas, pagerėja užsakymų ir pirkimų procedūrų kokybė, informacijos dalijimasis leidžia efektyviau ir operatyviau apdoroti turimą informaciją, kuri lemia mažesnę prekių ar paslaugų kainą bei mažina korupcijos mastą. Darbe nagrinėjamos Italijos ir Danijos centralizuotų viešųjų pirkimų sistemos, remiantis šia analize atsakoma į pagrindinį išsikeltą darbe klausimą – ar pasiteisins lūkesčiai centralizavus viešuosius pirkimus Lietuvoje? / Centralization of Public Procurement: Searching for Optimal Approach (Lithuanian Case) This study focuses on the possibilities to increase the effectiveness of Lithuania’s public procurement system. Primary objective of the study is to find out whether the model of centralized procurement adopted by Lithuanian Government and the establishment of the Central Procurement Organization will benefit solving the existing problems and shaping a more effective and transparent public procurement system. Maintaining the objective the hypothesis, that the implementation of centralized public procurement system will make the public procurement organizing more effective, has been drawn. Seeking to verify the hypothesis, the main objective of this study has to be dissolved to several more narrow goals: 1. Detect the disadvantage of centralized and decentralized public procurement systems with reference to the experience of foreign countries; 2. Analyze and compare the cases of centralized public procurement systems of Italy and Denmark; 3. Study the problems of existing public procurement system in Lithuania; 4.
