AUTOMATISERAD KONSTRUKTION APPLICERAT PÅ GRENSTÄLL

Jonsson, Viktor, Ottosson, Simon January 2010 (has links)

This system is designed by package of CASE system entitled Pro Vision Workbench, which absolutely includes all Life Cycle of Information System. The creation life cycle of Information System is composed according to strategy from concept to program code is the necessity of Pro Vision Workbench package. The created objects of data in relation Data Base Management System (DBMS), for instance, Oracle, Visual Basic, Access and etc., in which the functions of IS can be done, are allowed to use by Pro Vision Workbench package. The sentences of SQL CREATE are interpreted to tables by DDL (data definition language), and any relational Data Base of user can read these tables. The basic source of generating windows prototypes of user link is the definable objects, its methods, attributes and relationship between objects in business objects model. Research, which was carried out of software, show the link of CASE system between Data Base Management System (DBMS), in this case, MS Access and the objective programming language of Visual Basic 6.0 accelerate and reduced the price of created process small and simple software.

LOSSES DIGUISED AS WINS AND SLOT MACHINE PREFERENCE

Johnson, Dominique Jacquita 01 December 2015 (has links)
The purpose of the present study was to investigate response allocation amongst two concurrently available computerized slot machines, one dispensing Losses Disguised as Wins (LDWs) while the other did not. Both payouts were equal in the beginning and became consistently worst for the LDW machine by lowering the payout each phase. LDWs are slot machine outcomes, participants bet on a slot machine and win back less than their wager. This may be a problem because participants may react to LDWs as a win, misleading the participant to think they are winning more than they actually are. In the present study the LDW outcome payout started at 80 percent payback and decrease by 20 percent each phase and non LDW, maintained at 400 percent payback over 12 percent of the trials. Twenty individuals were recruited by the researcher. Results indicated that a higher percentages of spins were allocated to the machine dispensing LDW. These results suggest that gamblers have a preference for LDW machines because of the reinforcement of the misleading factors that may indicated a win. Keywords: Gambling, LDW, slot machine, visual basic

Desktop GPS Analyst Standardized GPS Data Processing and Analysis on a Personal Computer

Hart, Dennis L., Pappas, Johnny J., Lindegren, John E. 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 28-31, 1996 / Town and Country Hotel and Convention Center, San Diego, California / In the last few years there has been a proliferation of GPS receivers and receiver manufacturers. Couple this with a growing number of DoD test programs requiring high accuracy Time-Space-Position-Information (TSPI) with diminishing test support funds and/or needing a wide area, low altitude or surface tracking capability. The Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) recognized the growing requirements for using GPS in test programs and the need for a low cost, portable TSPI processing capability which sparked the development of the Desktop GPS Analyst. The Desktop GPS Analyst is a personal computer (PC) based software application for the generation of GPS-based TSPI.

Optimering av prestanda och utnyttjande av flertrådsteknik / Optimization of performance and utilization of multithreading

Gustafsson, Daniel, Öberg, Christoffer January 2009 (has links)
<p>The purpose of this thesis was to help the company Medius AB with optimization of selected parts in an existing system to minimize the execution time by implementing multithreading. The idea was to manipulate the code so that calculations could be executed at the same time. The main work in this thesis consisted of three optimizations. The first one was to reconstruct a big “for-loop” so it would execute every loop's work in an own thread. The second optimization also was a reconstruct of a “for-loop” so it could execute the work in different threads. The third and last optimization consisted of reconstructing a stored procedure on the database, so different parts of it each could be executed in an own thread to create data at the same time. To implement the optimizations Visual Basic .NET and its support for multithreading and connection-pools was used. The result of the optimizations meant that one of the modules could be executed more efficiently and it was 12 % faster. The other modules execution time was more efficient by 25 % faster. The meanings and requirements for this thesis are fulfilled by now letting the system make use of its resources in a better way.</p>

The U-Pb analysis by Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICPMS) became popular in geosciences due to its low cost, reasonable precision and rapid analysis. For studies that require a large number of ages, like in sediment provenance studies, this method is advantageous. Although, the high analysis speed is also followed by a big volume of data to be reduced. The project described in this dissertation had the objective to use computational methods to automatize the data reduction process. Using the Visual Basic for Applications programming language, which is intrinsically related to Microsoft Excel, all data reducing steps were included in a single program: Chronus. By using this program it is possible to choose the analyses’ settings (the type of collectors, the analyzed standards, the error propagation method, etc.), automatically import the raw data, subtract the signal of the blank from the samples, correct the samples’ ratios based on the standards’ analyses and calculate the uncertainties. Chronus creates a Excel spreadsheet with many sheets where the settings, the information of each step of data reduction and the results are stored. The capacity of Chronus to reduce U-Pb data obtained by LA-ICPMS was tested using analyses of the 91500 (1065 Ma, Wiedenbeck et al., 1995) and Plešovice (337 Ma, Sláma et al., 2008) zircon standards, using the GJ-1 standard (608 Ma, Jackson et al., 2004) as primary standard. Propagation of the GJ-1’s uncertainties into analyses was done by two different ways: taking into account the uncertainties of GJ-1’s analyses before and after the sample or using the Mean Square of the Weighted Deviates (MSWD) of the standard’s ratios. Reducing a large number of samples allowed the observation of unexpected 202 mass signal. This phenomenon was observed also in the zircon standards discussed previously. It seems to have a relationship between the zircon grains’ Rare Earth Elements (REE) contents and the 200 mass intensity. It might be due to the REE oxide formation during the material transport from the ablation chamber to the detectors.
