Grafické zobrazení relací mezi počítači v Internetu / Visualization of relations between computers in the InternetCimbálek, Přemysl January 2008 (has links)
Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) transmits the television signal over the TCP/IP family of protocols. Its advantages are for example that the transmitting is not only one-way as in the “classical” TV broadcasting, but it can provide feedback such as interactivity. There are also some problems which avoids development, for example low channel capacity of access networks. That is why new methods , for example how to get more efficiency in IPTV transmission, are proposed. The main task of this diploma thesis is to visualize tree structure of relations between nodes in the network, based on understanding of principles of the hierarchical summarization and IPTV transmitting. The nodes in the tree structure provide computing and summarizing of the data in back-way channel. There is the data from the end users in this channel. In the first part of this diploma thesis there is explained the principle of IPTV and its differences as compared with classical TV broadcasting. The part is also aimed for the supported services, advantages and disadvantages. There is explained the compressing data with the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards and problems with transport networks called “last mile problem.” To transmitting data IPTV uses Source Specific Multicast – every user connects to the multicast session with requested TV program. Feedback is provided by unicast. Feedback network uses the hierarchical summarization principle to reduce the data. This problem, connected with RTP, RTCP and TTP protocols, is in the work described as well. There is an international experimental network called PlanetLab mentioned in theoretical part of this work. Proposed structure of new protocol and applications including the visualization for IPTV broadcast, is tested in that network. In the practical part of this work there are discussed possibilities and methods for the visualization and data storage. Because of high availability and flexibility, there were chosen web technologies, such as MySQL for data storage. The tree model is executed by Java. The visualization is solved by web technologies, source code for visualization is dynamically generated by scripts in JSP (Java Server Pages). Graphical output is provided by the vector format SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) which is created for graphical expression on the internet and in the mobile phones. There were created interactive web application thanks its ability to cooperation with Javascript technology. This application visualizes relation-tree structure of nodes. In this work there are explained basics of all used technologies, there are also given reasons for chosen methods and formats. Examples and interesting parts of solution are mentioned as well.

The diploma thesis titled Transformation of Journalistic Practices Relating to Advent of Data Journalism concerns the current situation in Czech data journalism and its devel- opment. It examines how the newsroom, the journalists and the readers cope with new technology, big data and the related advent of data journalism. The theoretical part of the text explains the relationship between classical journalism and data-driven journal- ism and compares the so-called "narrative" and "interactive" approaches as forms of data-driven journalism. Further it gives a deeper understanding of the relation between data journalism and the new concept of objectivity and it deals with the cultural, social and technical preconditions of data journalism. The thesis also describes the historical aspects of the topic comparing computer-assisted reporting to current practice. Sub- sequent chapters deal with the visualizations, infographics, amateur data journalism and open data which all play a key role in data-driven journalism. The practical part intro- duces the Czech data team. It was originally established within the publishing house Economia and then moved to the office of Czech Radio (Český rozhlas). The final parts discuss the cooperation model of the Czech data team, the use of visualization in their projects,...

Previous issue date: 2015-02-24 / CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The increase use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) as disseminators of
knowledge aids students in developing knowledge and provides an interaction
between people through computational tools mediated by the teacher (mediator or
tutor). However, many LMSs does not have a mechanism or tool to aid the teacher to
get detailed information about the social interaction between students and their group.
This complicates the teacher’s awareness with regard to social relations established
within the discipline. Based on this information, this paper proposes and details an
approach to this problem that makes use of a Multi-Agent System architecture directed
to the analysis of the interactions of groups. As proof of concept, a prototype was
developed as using a software methodology for Multi-Agent Systems in order to
analyze the interactions between students that occurred in the forums and messages
of a course in the LMS Moodle and present this information to the teacher in the form
of sociogram or table. In this way, the teacher can visually monitor the interactions of
students within the course, and adopt tactics that promote social inclusion. To validate
the work a case study was performed, a class of a course of Distance Education in a
Higher Education Institution (HEI). According to the results obtained in simulated tests
and a real class, it is clear that the graphic visualization of interactions of students in
the forums and messages, when combined with the proactivity of agents, can
corroborate the work done by mediators. The vizualization of the interactions provides
to the teachers a more comprehensive, clear and quick view of social interactions
established in the discipline, facilitating a option to intervene intentionally through
teaching strategies such as to encourage students to develop the communication,
interaction and the creation of new groups.

Experimental study of the effect of nozzle geometry on the performance of direct-injection diesel sprays for three different fuelsViera Sotillo, Juan Pablo 29 May 2017 (has links)
This thesis studies the influence of internal nozzle flow characteristics over a large spectrum of experimental conditions and diagnostics. Experiments were carried out for two nozzle geometries---cylindrical and conical single hole nozzles---and three different fuels. Two of the fuels are pure components---n-heptane and n-dodecane---while the third fuel consists of a three-component surrogate to better represent the physical and chemical properties of diesel fuel. Measurements include a complete hydraulic characterization consisting of instantaneous injection rate and spray momentum flux measurements; a high-speed visualization of isothermal liquid spray; a high-speed visualization of the evaporative inert spray, imaging liquid and vapor phases simultaneously and finally, a high-speed visualization of the high temperature reactive spray, imaging vapor phase and OH* chemiluminescence for each injection event. All high-temperature diagnostics were performed in a continuous flow test chamber that allows an accurate control on a wide range of thermodynamic conditions (up to 1000 K and 15 MPa).
The experimental findings from this work, and the large database obtained (available for download at: http://www.cmt.upv.es/DD01.aspx), could be used to validate CFD models that could help the community understand the fundamental driving mechanisms behind these observations.
Viera Sotillo, JP.
