A influência da centralidade de rede no processo de difusão de inovações / The influence of network centrality on the innovation diffusion process

Furlan, Bruno Ramalho 12 March 2019 (has links)
This study aims, through computational simulations, to understand how the influence of the different types of network, the centrality of agents and the non-sharing of information affect the processes of adoption and diffusion in different types of innovations. For this task, simulations were made with the network models described by Watts and Strogatz (WATTS & STROGATZ, 1998), with a fixed number of 100 nodes or agents (n = 100), in which the parameters mi (initial degree centrality) and p (probability of reconnection of these nodes) were varied. We used regular (p=0), small- world (p=0.5) and random networks (p=1.0). We choose the initial adopters by 5 different methods: by greater degree, closeness, of betweeness and eingevector centralities, besides the random choice. We also considered two types of agents with different characteristics: the first, called social, shared and received information, the second, called selfish, received and did not share information. For part of the simulations, we use a continuous innovation and, for another part, we use a disruptive innovation. As a result, for the simulations carried out in this model, the greatest growth in the number of adopters was not only dependent on the characteristics of the network, but also on the agents that compose it, besides the innovation itself. For this reason, we think that the disruptive model favors innovation and the presence of selfish agents as an obstacle or barrier

Jolicoeur, Richard 08 October 2021 (has links)

Jolicoeur, Richard 02 March 2021 (has links)

Dismantling the Spatiality of Heaven in the Prayer Poems of Emily Dickinson

Pett, Scott A 02 May 2012 (has links)
I identify three significant components of Heaven’s spatiality that determine the boundaries of and conditions for “legitimate” spiritual experience, all of which are embodied in what Dickinson calls “the apparatus” of prayer (Fr 632). First, the locations of Heaven and Earth are determinable, absolute, and inflexible, thus marking the distance that separates human from God as static and constant; second, in order to engage God, the supplicant must turn towards Heaven (and away from Earth); and third, specific spatial and emotional protocol are established by assigning God socially constructed roles such as King or Father. Dickinson dismantles the spatiality of Heaven in her poems and letters by undoing these three components; yet even in the act of disassembling, she embraces and recycles their respective ideologies as a way of claiming sole ownership of her religiosity.

Alan Watts' theological anthropology and its implications for religious education

Hinz, William January 1991 (has links)
To those individuals who felt alienated and disillusioned by traditional Western forms of religion, Alan Watts offered a different way of looking at the world and a new understanding of what it means to be religious. Borrowing heavily from Taoism, Zen Buddhism, Vendanta Hinduism and other Eastern traditions, Watts argues that our widely accepted notion of a person as an active, willing agent existing as a lonely island of consciousness is an illusion rooted in social and linguistic conventions. / In place of the typical Western image of God as an external personal being governing the universe by means of his omnipotent will and omniscient intellect, Watts argues in favour of the Eastern image of God as the mysterious depth and ground of all being. / If education is concerned with the task of enabling a person to grow and mature as a full human being and religion is concerned with fostering the uniquely human capacity to be fully present and open to the mystery and wonder of existence, then it follows that being educated and becoming religious are part of the same process. For Watts, religious education is characterized not according to a specific content but rather an underlying set of values which promote an awareness of humanity's interrelationship and interdependence with the rest of the universe.

Att vägleda i lokala kontexter

Fogelström, Michael January 2019 (has links)
