Interneto serverių apsaugos priemonių tyrimas / Security tools analysis for Internet Servers

Žabinskas, Vidas 01 June 2004 (has links)
Transferring the activities to electronic space, each Internet user could be involved in a risk that the information accessed and transmitted by network might be read, retrieved and, supposedly, trespassed. Therefore, the preventive protection of personal computer and computer system security is relevant in order security gaps in a computer system would appear as less as possible. Subject of the Work: “PC Security” Internet service website designated to check-out personal computer system security by users on their own. Goal of the Work: computer security measures analysis and computer security control system development. The current study contain the analysis of measures that support system to be more attack-resistant: rules necessary for network security resistance; information coding measures; actions disturbing normal system operation; actions to be undertaken in case of successful intruder attack. Requirements for the models of Internet server security and testing system were set therein. Observing the aforementioned requirements computer system security testing system was designed and implemented, system testing carried out, and system user specifications described. For flexibility purposes two check-out options were involved in the testing system: system user performs the computer IP testing himself/herself or testing is performed by a system operator with report sending. This particular testing system should be very useful for the users because the latter would be... [to full text]

Servidor web distribuído com diferenciação de serviços - implementação e avaliação de um protótipo / Distributed Web Server with service differentiation - a prototype implementation and evaluation

Messias, Valter Rogério 19 October 2007 (has links)
Os resultados alcançados sinalizam uma melhora em termos de tempos de respostas e número de requisições completadas para a classe de maior prioridade / This work presents a study, implementation and evaluation in real environment of a Web server architecture with service differentiation (SWDS) for provision of relative QoS in Web servers. Algorithms of resources reservation and scheduling based on priorities were considered to provide service differentiation among the request classes, besides implementation of a mechanism for admission control in order to control the load in the system. The goal is to offer better treatment for higher priority requests without harming in excess lower priority ones. It was observed that the algorithms for resource reservation (RSV and RSVapap) are efficient to provide differentiation among the considered classes, however their performance was not satisfactory in some cases, due to both, the archtectures through which they were implemented and the specific features of the algorithm nature. The considered scheduling algorithm based on priorities (PriProcess) was efficient both in the sense of providing service differentiation among the classes and with regards to performance, with the higher priority class always being better served than the lower priority one. It was also studied the creation of a mechanism for admission control with service differentiation. The achieved results show an improvement in terms of response times and the number of completed requests for the higher priority class

Um sistema servidor web distribuído com provisão de QoS absoluta e relativa / Distributed Web server system with provision of absolute QoS

Mamani, Edwin Luis Choquehuanca 08 December 2010 (has links)
Além do EBS, outros algoritmos são avaliados, tais como, Round-Roubin e Weighted Round Robin / This work presents a prototype of a distributed Web server with service differentiation based on relative and absolute QoS. Are compared different schedule algorithms. One of the policies to be evaluated is the EBS. The goal is to implement the policy theory to the real world, comparing their behavior with the simulation results, using the response time as a performance measure. In addition to the EBS, others policies are evaluated, such as Round-Roubin and Weight Round Robin

Reducing Data Copying Overhead in Web Servers

Yeung, Gary 06 1900 (has links)
Web servers that generate dynamic content are widely used in the development of Internet applications. With the Internet highly connected to people’s lifestyles, the service requirements of Internet applications have increased significantly. This increasing trend intensifies the need to improve server performance in dynamic content generation. In this thesis, we describe the opportunity to improve server performance by co-locating the web server and the application server on the same machine. We identify related work and discuss their respective advantages and deficiencies. We then introduce and explain our technique that passes the client socket’s file descriptor from the web server process to the application server. This allows the application server to reply to the client directly, reducing the amount of data copied and improving server performance. Experiments were designed to evaluate the performance of this technique and provide a detailed analysis of processor time and data copying during response delivery. A performance comparison against alternative approaches has been performed. We analyze the results to understand factors in data copying efficiency and determine that cache misses are an important factor in server performance. There are four major contributions in this thesis. First, we show that in multiprocessor environments, co-locating web servers and application servers can take advantage of faster communication. Second, we introduce a new technique that reduces the amount of data copied by two-thirds. This technique requires no modifications to the application server code (other existing techniques do), and it is also applicable in a variety of systems, allowing easy adoption in production environments. Third, we provide a performance comparison against other approaches and raise questions regarding data copying efficiency. Our technique attains an average peak throughput of 1.27 times the FastCGI with Unix domain sockets in both uniprocessor and multiprocessor environments. Finally, our analysis on the effect of cache misses on server performance provides valuable insights into why these benefits are obtained.

Integration and Application of the Embedded System and the World-Wide Web

Li, Yiing-jui 13 August 2004 (has links)
In recent years, the requirement for embedded controllers has been steadily on the increase due to the development of computers, communication ,WWW and consumers¡¦ products. Consequently, integration and application of the embedded system and the World-Wide Web become more and more important. The Web-based embedded system developed in this paper tends build a service of micro web server. By this service, users can not only receive the information from the system via the browser, but also design particular processes for themselves. Besides, the system developer can use the most popular tools to edit the page for the Web-based embedded system. This Web service technology offers an operational interface, which is user-friendly, and cost effective with the capability of cross-platform and TCP/IP transmission. The presented achievement is applied to temperature control system for performance evaluation of remote control.
