The Study of Employee Passion-Financial Industry as the Example

Chen, Fang-Chien 19 July 2005 (has links)
The Study of Employee Passion- Financial Industry as the Example Abstract ¡§Work Passion¡¨ has been gradually gained attention. Most likely is that work plays an important part in our daily life. People could benefit from the joy and energy of the working. However, the related research in the field is insufficient. In this research, literature review and interview were first applied to developing the framework and questionnaire. The next stage is to adopt empirical survey approach which contains multiple regression and hierarchical regression to verify the following hypotheses. 1. A positive relationship between the sources of work passion and the behaviors of work passion. 2. A positive relationship between the behaviors of work passion and the effects of work passion. 3. A positive relationship between the sources of work passion and the effects of work passion. 4. Moderating effects exist between variables. The main conclusions are summarized as follows. 1. Hypothesis one is supported. Someone who enjoys the relationship with others or with an active personality will have passionate behaviors. The behaviors cover the goal oriented, self motivation, helpfulness, to overcome difficulties, ideas sharing, insistence on something, and so on. Except for the above mention, an open culture or influence of co-workers will enable employee to have the kind of behaviors, too. 2. Hypothesis two is supported. Someone who has passionate behaviors will be satisfied with his/her job and salary. 3. Hypothesis three is supported. The sources of work passion will bring effects on job and salary satisfaction. An open culture is a particular one which has a close relationship with job and salary satisfaction. 4. Person-job conflict will affect not only the relationship between sources and behaviors but also behaviors and effects. 5. Person-organization conflict will affect the relationship with sources and behaviors.

Schildt, Elin January 2012 (has links)

The Impacts of Person-Organization Fit and Person-Job Fit on Work Attitude-The Case of Taiwan Power Company

Hu, Yi-Ting 26 January 2006 (has links)
In recent years there has been growing interest in the concept of Person-Environment¡]P-E¡^Fit. Under the umbrella term of P-E fit, researchers have distinguished between specific types of fit¡GPerson-Organization¡]P-O¡^Fit and Person-Job¡]P-J¡^Fit . This study examines the employees¡¦ actual P-O fit and perceived P-J fit, and both types of fit as predictors of work passion, job satisfaction and turnover intention. The Q-sort approaches and the Organizational Culture Profile¡]OCP¡^adapted from Cable and Judge¡]1996¡^were used as the instrument for assessing Person-Organization fit. Furthermore, this paper examines the potential interaction between the P-O fit and the P-J fit. If such an interaction is significant , both types of fit can be a moderator for each other. Survey data collected from 277 employees of Taiwan Power Company are analyzed. The results show that: ¡]1¡^the person-organization fit calculated by correlating OCP1¡]characteristics of firms¡^ and OCP2¡]individual preferences for the characteristics of firms¡^ ranged from ¡V1 to 1¡]the¡©correlation coefficient¡ªis between -1 and 1 as expected¡^. ¡]2¡^Both P-O fit and P-J fit have positive impact on work passion and job satisfaction, respectively.¡]3¡^Both P-O fit and P-J fit have negative impact on turnover intention.¡]4¡^No significant interaction was found between the two types of fit and they are weakly related¡]r=.043¡^

How to Enhance Employees’ Work Passion?”: The Perspective of Supervisor Behaviors

Unknown Date (has links)
Work passion can have noticeable beneficial effects on both employees and employers. Therefore, raising the employee’s passion for work is one of the key points which enterprises need to concern. There are some researches indicate that the behaviors of direct supervisors can impact on work passion of employee but the relationship remains unexplained. Here we’d like to investigate that from supervisor’s perspective, what kind of behavior from managers can enhance the work passion of employee. In the first part of this research, we have gone through reviews from both references and interviews of 5 managers from industry to conclude the specific behaviors which influence the work passion. Then we have induced a questionnaire according to the factors. Later, we have measured quantitatively from the survey and we have verified the relationships between supervisor’s behavior and employee’s work passion. We have collected 259 effective samples from 8 companies including IT, electronics, and financial industries. The subjects need to be a full-time employee for at least 6 months. This research takes hierarchical regressions to analyze the relationships between supervisors’ behaviors and employee’s work passion, and we found the “aggressive instruction and care” have productive influence on the harmonious passion. Besides, “employee-oriented encourage” also have affirmative effect on both harmonious passion and obsessive passion of workers.
