The people Yaminahua of Brazil live in the state of Acre and are distributed as follows: most of ethnicity living in native village near the urban area, while small communities living in the cities. Our main goal in the current in this study is to present a preliminary description of the phonetics and phonology based on phonemic theory and, moreover, presents studies on the syllabic structure and how the distribution of stress occurs at the word level based on nonlinear phonology. Furthermore, we present considerations about the linguistics family Panoan, including some of the major classifications of this language family. We also make observations about Yaminahua ethnicity in general, beyond special considerations about the people Yaminahua of Brazil. The research corpus consists of data collected from field surveys undertaken in October 2011 and July 2012 in native villages and cities in Acre, with voluntary collaboration of eight native speakers of the target language who speak Portuguese. / Este trabalho tem como objeto de estudo a língua Jaminawa do Brasil, filiada à família linguística Pano. Os falantes dessa língua vivem no estado do Acre e se distribuem da seguinte forma: grande parte da etnia vive em aldeias próximas à zona urbana, enquanto pequenas comunidades vivem em cidades. Nosso objetivo principal no trabalho em questão é apresentar uma descrição preliminar da fonética e fonologia com base na teoria fonêmica e, além disso, a partir na fonologia não linear, apresentar também estudos sobre a estrutura silábica e a forma como ocorre a distribuição do acento no nível da palavra. Ademais, apresentamos considerações acerca da família linguística Pano, incluindo algumas das principais classificações linguísticas dessa família. Fazemos ainda observações sobre a etnia Jaminawa em geral, além de considerações específicas acerca do povo Jaminawa do Brasil. O corpus da pesquisa é constituído por dados coletados em pesquisas de campo desenvolvidas em outubro de 2011 e julho de 2012 em aldeias e cidades Acreanas, com a colaboração voluntária de oito falantes nativos da língua estudada, que também falam português.
