Modellering och simulering av aktivslamprocessen vid Ekebyverket i Eskilstuna / Modeling and simulation of the activated sludge process at Ekeby WWTP in Eskilstuna

Falk, Wilma January 2020 (has links)
This work has been done with Ramboll Water, in cooperation with Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö (EEM), where the activated sludge process at Ekeby wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has been themodeling object. The simulation study, using Sumo, shows that the nitrogen reduction using a separate digester supernatant treatment can be at most 3,7 mg/l, or 17 %, over a year when the maximum degree of treatment is assumed to be 90 %. With respect to the new emission requirements for Ekeby WWTP that starts in 2022, a 60 % degree of removal of the nitrogen in the supernatant is enough with unchanged population. With the 90 % nitrogen removal some room for a higher influent load might be possible. Business integration is elaborated applying quantitative and qualitative growth, learning and exploitation paired with model and model tool capability and a matrix combining assignment types and model tool functionality.Further studies in form of process capability and dynamic simulation is proposed.
