The central aim of this research is to contribute to the debate on the actual and potential role of urban festivities in urban development of cites areas. For some time, policy makers, planners and architects have realized the great importance of urban festivities and cultural events in revitalization and development of urban areas. They pay attention to both direct or indirect impact of such activities. A variety of festivities and cultural events have started to been incorporated into large-scale architectural and urban projects. They have also been employed as political tools. By now, it is generally accepted that urban festivities and cultural events are important investments contributing to the integration of communities and overall improved representation of the urban region. They often provide the urban environment with a new meaning and/or character. The proposed research is investigating and analyzing the potential effects of urban festivities and cultural events on the transformations and new perceptions of urban spaces and how they can be used as policy tools. It focuses on organized open-air activities in urban public spaces (including urban centers, neighborhoods and peripheries). Principal results of this research are based on the cooperation of two research centres: the Institute of Theory, School of Architecture, Brno University of Technology in Czech Republic and Laboratory for Theories on Urbanism, French Planning Institute, Paris VIII University in France.

Předměty a akce v 3D prostředí Emohawkville / Items and actions in 3D virtual environment Emohawkville

Holaň, David January 2013 (has links)
Development of intelligent virtual agents is a complex task. One of the im- portant sub-tasks is creation of behaviors. It is highly desirable to test behaviors of intelligent virtual agents in an actual virtual world, not in a simplified sub- stitute. Over the past several years the Pogamut platform has been developed, which allows intelligent virtual agent behaviors to be tested in several gaming worlds, but none combines complexity, dynamicity and extensibility. It was de- cided to fill the gap by creating the EmohawkVille virtual world. EmohawkVille is a first-person virtual world in a day-to-day life setting. The purpose of this thesis is to explain why is EmohawkVille needed and to document features, de- sign and development of EmohawkVille and its Pogamut module. The thesis also presents results of a case study that confirms the EmohawkVille's suitability for experiments concerning intelligent virtual agent behaviors.

Ochrana spotřebitele proti nekalým praktikám / Consumer´s protection against unfair practises

Židlický, Viktor January 2010 (has links)
In my graduation thesis I established a goal to discover most frequent unfair practises, which can come across a czech consumer. To accomplish this goal I've choosed following process. At first I made an enquiry between Organisations for consumer's protection and I visited frequently one of them. Also I get together all literary and virtual sources. Afterthan I made a part of Unfair practises in use, based on the informations from my enquiry and my visitation of Prague's office. In this part I tried to mention as many cosumer's problems as possible. Than I wanted to present possibilities of consumer's defence. Ther are two possibilities. The first is coming from civil law and it is included in the part of Judicature. The second possibility is from statutory law which is mentioned in the part of Activity of supervisor authority. When working on these practical parts I realised many possibilities how to make better the consumer's situation in Czech republic. These proposals I got into the final part of my work. At the end there was no more then to do theoretical or general part. This one was made on the basis of allready existing publications and articles. The real end was the introduction, where I highlighted my goal and I tried to mention problems included in my final thesis.
