This study aims at investigating parents' trust in the social services children and youth units. Children and youth units have the task of ensuring that children grow up under safe conditions. According to current research, it is important that people feel confident about the authorities they meet. According to Bo Rothstein's theories which are the ones we are focusing on; interpersonal trust is the foundation of a well-functioning society. Against this background, we are interested in examining parents' trust in social services. The empirical material of the study has been obtained through a quantitative method in the form of a web-based survey. We received a total of 160 useful answers that were processed in the SPSS statistics program. The results have then been analyzed based on the research on trust that we have chosen for this study. The result from this study shows that a majority of the respondents have low confidence in the social services children and youth units. People who are the most vulnerable in society, and who have low levels of interpersonal trust, have the lowest confidence in the social services children and youth units. The perceived quality of the social services work with children and young people was also investigated and showed that many of the parents experienced it as lacking. Based on the free text response, unexpected information also emerged as several parents expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of knowledge about neuropsychiatric disabilities which include ADHD, Asperger's syndrome and autism.
