Fürle, Sebastian January 2012 (has links)
In recent years seemingly everything has become digital. Some areas, like classical sports, have been slower to adapt to new technical development. Golf is an example of this. Usually when people play golf they bring their clubs, golf balls and a paper scorecard on to the golf course. The advantages of keeping score in a digital way areevident. EVRY One Halmstad has developed a scorecard printing system for official golf rounds called OnTag. The OnTag system is a standardized printing system in Sweden. OnTag Scorekort is an iPhone application developed by EVRY One Halmstad which communicates with the OnTag system. There were wishes of an application for Android phones and that is the reason behind this thesis project. The first part of the project was to develop a database to the new Android application which would form the fundament. The second part of the project consisted of developing a communication interface to communicate with the OnTag servers. The third and last part of the project consisted of graphical user interface development. The project is inspired by the existing iPhone application. It was important that each of these goals were met in a good way to be able to reachthe main goal of the project. To be able to reach the goals a functionality‐driven development method was used where the user experience was in focus. The project group was small and discussions between the group members drove the project forward. Software testswere conducted at several occasions during the project. The result for the project was an Android application which has been published on Google Play and Appland. The final tests for the application were monitored by EVRY One Halmstad. The tests were approved which is a strong indication of a uccessful project.s / De senaste åren har i princip det mesta digitaliserats.

BLUETOOTH INTEGRATION AV ANDROIDSMARTTELEFON MED BIO-SENSOR / BLUETOOTH INTEGRATION OF SMARTPHONE WITH BIO-SENSOR FOR DEGREE PROJECT

Larsson, Pär January 2013 (has links)
The main task during this degree project has been code design for an Android Smartphone making it able to communicate with a Bio Sensor to create an automatic alert if for example a heart problem arises. How this application has been developed has been documented together with the result of an information search that has been conducted in adjoining branches of science. The application program uses a Service to maintain high priority for the communication process between the bio-sensor and the phone. The application prototype also uses a Widget – a mini application on the Home Screen – which is a neat way to display data from the sensor. When this product is launched onto the market it will be classified as a medical device. This means that there is a special set of rules that the supplier of the product must follow. This application is easy to use but that does not mean that it always will suit everybody. Persons who suffer from heart disease mostly also suffer from low spirits. Therefore, it is desirable that the patient can be made to realize and to appreciate the advantages of automatic monitoring of the individual status that this application offers.

Android programų kūrimo įrankių galimybių spręsti šilumos pernešimo uždavinius analizė / Analysis of the Tools for Android Applications in Heat Transfer Problem

Levaginas, Saulius 29 July 2013 (has links)
The main purpose of this work is to make an analysis of abilities of tools for development of Android operating system programs. In the view of the work results, we can conclude, that this OS has the biggest part of the market share by sales. Also we can see, that we are left with only one choice for development tools (Android SDK) of Android programs, because all other programming environments require that Android SDK must be installed. For a more accurate programming results, one should test applications on real devices. In addition, we should say, that only one programming tool (FuturEye) was found for heat transfer problems evaluation.

Privacy Preserving Controls for Android Applications

January 2014 (has links)
abstract: Android is currently the most widely used mobile operating system. The permission model in Android governs the resource access privileges of applications. The permission model however is amenable to various attacks, including re-delegation attacks, background snooping attacks and disclosure of private information. This thesis is aimed at understanding, analyzing and performing forensics on application behavior. This research sheds light on several security aspects, including the use of inter-process communications (IPC) to perform permission re-delegation attacks. Android permission system is more of app-driven rather than user controlled, which means it is the applications that specify their permission requirement and the only thing which the user can do is choose not to install a particular application based on the requirements. Given the all or nothing choice, users succumb to pressures and needs to accept permissions requested. This thesis proposes a couple of ways for providing the users finer grained control of application privileges. The same methods can be used to evade the Permission Re-delegation attack. This thesis also proposes and implements a novel methodology in Android that can be used to control the access privileges of an Android application, taking into consideration the context of the running application. This application-context based permission usage is further used to analyze a set of sample applications. We found the evidence of applications spoofing or divulging user sensitive information such as location information, contact information, phone id and numbers, in the background. Such activities can be used to track users for a variety of privacy-intrusive purposes. We have developed implementations that minimize several forms of privacy leaks that are routinely done by stock applications. / Dissertation/Thesis / Masters Thesis Computer Science 2014

Healthy Home

Sowmya, Mothekani January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Computing and Information Sciences / Mitchell L. Neilsen / Every home has the challenge of matching its grocery to family member’s demands. How well the home maker manages this challenge has a major impact on the food wastage and money spent on buying those. Any typical family with 4 people will spend at least $1500 per month for the groceries and the same family waste around $1000 worth of food in a year. These families don’t know the overall environmental impact of food waste which is piling up in landfills. From the survey done by Environmental Protection Agency, this food waste accounts for 20% of landfill waste.  Healthy Home(HH) Android application helps the user to get the re-order point of the groceries based on the quantity remaining. The user will input the entire grocery list which he/she has purchased and the daily quantity consumed. The application will take this as the input and give the recommendation of what to cook and how many calories that give to your body. It can distinguish and let you know by what time the food should be consumed based on the Best by date or whether it is Perishable/Non-perishable. This application will recommend you the ROP (Reorder Point) and SS (Safety Stock) which any household has to carry based on the DDLT (Demand During the Lead Time). We are using the Supply Chain Industry standard formula to calculate the SS (Safety Stock) and ROP (Reorder Point). ROP = DDLT+ SS *SS = 2 Days’ worth of Food (Defaulting) Instead of going with the Industry standard formula. The user is provided with the database which consists of the standard grocery list with their calories information. The user is also provided with the standard cuisines (recipes) information in place which helps us in building the recommendation systems used to suggest recipes for users.

Course Quizard : Providing students additional ways to study

Hellgren, Daniel, Ljus, Simon, Wang, Tony January 2016 (has links)
Studies shows that students today have problems learning. We have developed an application to combat these issues. We call it Course Quizard and it targets university students that want to find an supplemental way to study. Users can play course specific quizzes against each other containing questions created by other users or automatic generated questions from course material. A small group of students tested the application and they feel the idea is valuable but would rather recommend it to a friend than play it themselves. Course Quizard has potential with future development which would make the application an excellent study alternative.
