The thesis is focused on repressive coping style and self-reports of the anger. In the theoretical part are elaborated chapters concerning the definition of emotion, emotion regulation, coping and repressive coping style. The Repressors are characterized by unconscious denial of their own anxiety and self-image distortion within the low susceptibility to negative emotions. The research study focuses on the expression of anger by repressors and their comparison with other groups. Respondents (n=122) were divided into four groups using conventional questionnaires (STAI, MCSD): repressors (n=26), high-anxious (n=16), defensive high-anxious (n=47) and low-anxious (n=33). The aim of the study was find out differences in the expression of anger and trait anger. The hypotheses were partly supported, as the results in the expression of anger and trait anger pointed to differences between repressors and low-anxious and partly supported among other groups. The present study shows that repressors distort even other socially censored emotions, in this case anger.

The purpose of this article is to focus on unique issues that are encountered in the crosscultural adaptation of measures of emotions. We take into consideration the cross-cultural equivalence of the concept of emotion, and how cultural differences influence the meaning of words that are utilized to describe these concepts. The critical need to take the state-trait distinction into account in adapting measures of emotional states and personality traits is then discussed. The effects of language and culture in adapting measures of the experience, expression, and control of anger in Latin-America are also reviewed. The construction of the Latin American Multicultural State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory is described. / Medición transcultural de las emociones: la expresión de la ira Se presenta un análisis de las dificultades encontradas en el proceso de adaptación transcultural de pruebas de medición de las emociones. Se toma en consideración la equivalencia transcultural del concepto de emoción, y como las diferencias culturales tienen una gran influencia en el significado de las palabras a ser usadas para definir y describir las emociones y su medición. Se discute la importancia y necesidad de considerar el concepto de estado-rasgo en el proceso de adaptación de pruebas psicológicas que evalúan los estados emocionales. Se examina los efectos de la lengua y cultura en la adaptación de pruebas que evalúen la experiencia, expresión y control de la ira en Latinoamérica. Finalmente, se describe la construcción del Inventario Multicultural Latinoamericano de la Expresión de la Ira, Estado-Rasgo.

Tyrimo tikslas – nustatyti, pacientų, patiriančių lėtinį veido skausmą, pykčio išgyvenimo, skausmo įveikos strategijų ir skausmo intensyvumo sąsajas. Tyrime dalyvavo LSMUL Kauno Klinikose gydomi pacientai, sergantys trišakio nervo neuralgija. Tyrime dalyvavo 15 vyrų, 27 moterų, tiriamųjų amžiaus vidurkis – 64,9 metai (SD=12,13). Tyriamieji buvo apklausiami anketavimo būdu. Tiriamų reiškinių įvertinimui naudoti: Skausmo intensyvumo klausimynas (Von Korff ir kt., 1992); Įveikos strategijų klausimynas (Rosenstiel ir Keefe, 1983); Asmenybinio ir būsenos pykčio klausimynas (Spielberger, 1999). Rezultatai parodė, kad padidėjusio aktyvumo strategijos taikymas yra susijęs moterų skausmo intensyvumu. Meldimosi ir tikėjimo bei katastrofizavimo naudojimas yra susijęs su vyrų skausmo intensyvumu. Nenustatytos pykčio sąsajos su pykčio išgyvenimo aspektais: asmenybiniu pykčiu, situaciniu pykčiu bei pykčio išraiškos ir kontrolės indeksu. Vyrų, pykčio išraiškos ir kontrolės indekas yra susijęs su aktyviomis įveikos strategijomis. Moterų, situacinis ir asmenybinis pyktis susijęs su pasyviomis skausmo įveikos strategijomis. Lytis nuspėja pasyvias skausmo įveikos strategijas. Skausmo intensyvumas nuspėja aktyvias skausmo įveikos strategijas. Pacientų patiriamą skausmo intensyvumą nuspėja aktyvių ir pasyvių skausmo įveikos strategijų naudojimas. Vyrams mažesnė tikimybė rinktis pasyvias įveikos strategijas nei moterims. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The aim of the study was to assess relationships between pain coping strategies, anger and pain intensity among patients suffering from trigeminal neuralgia. The subjects of the study were 15 men and 28 women undergoing treatment in Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics. General age mean equal to 64,9 (SD=12,13) years. Participants were asked to complete Grading the Severity of Chronic Pain Questionnaire (Von Korff ir kt., 1992), The Coping Strategies Questionnaire (Rosenstiel ir Keefe, 1983) and State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory-2 (Spielberger, 1999). Results indicated that increased activity is related to woman pain intensity. Prayer and faith and catastrofizing are associated with man pain intensity. Findings didn’t provide evidence to support relationships between trait anger, state anger and anger expression and control index. Nevertheless, anger expression and control index of man is associated with active coping strategies. State and trait anger of woman is associated with passive pain coping strategies. Furthermore, there evidence to support that sex predicts passive pain coping strategies. Pain intensity predicts active pain coping strategies. Active and passive pain coping strategies predicts pain intensity. Men are less likely to choose passive coping strategies than woman. Bakalauro darbo pirmame skyriuje išanalizuoti neigiami žmonių jausmai, išnagrinėti įvairių autorių (medikų, sociologų, mokslininkų) publikuojami straipsniai pykčio ir agresijos tema. Išanalizuotos neigiamų emocijų kilimo priežastys, jų išreiškimas ir valdymas. Antrajame skyriuje pateikta įvairių dizainerių kūrybos pavyzdžių, interpretuojančių neigiamas emocijas. Išanalizuoti seserų Mulleavy (Rodarte) sukurti darbai, kuriuose atsispindi pyktis ir agresija. Menininkės sukurtuose modeliuose tiesiogiai agresijos ir pykčio neinterpretuoja, jos pasitelkia šiuos jausmus tik kaip pagalbinę priemonę, suteikiant kolekcijai savitumo. Kaip analogas kuriamai kolekcijai pasirinkta seserų Mulleavy kolekcija „NYC mados savaitė - 2010 vasara. Rodarte“. Eskizuota, siekiant, kad modeliai būtų išraiškingi, atspindėtų pykčio emocijas, tačiau patys savaime nebūtų agresyvūs. Trečiame skyriuje aiškinama kolekcijos idėja, pateikiami modelių eskizų ieškojimai, technologiniai mėginiai, dekoro detalės. Atsižvelgiant į modelius, parinkti audiniai, audinių struktūra ir atspalviai. Norint geriau perteikti kolekcijos idėją, drabužių demonstravimui numatytos skirtingo ūgio manekenės. Pristatomą kolekciją sudaro 14 suprojektuotų modelių, iš jų – pasiūti keturi. Modeliams parinkti tamsių atspalvių, blizgūs audiniai. Kampuotos formas ir aštrūs kampai, suteikia modeliams piktų žodžių ir grėsmingų žvilgsnių nuotaiką. Spiralės ir atsišakojimai - tarsi įsiliepsnojęs kivirčas ir besistengiančios lauk išsiveržti... It also searches for sources of anger and for ways to deal with them. The second section provides examples of the works taken from designers, whom art are filled with anger and emotions. Works of sisters Mulleavy (Rodarte) were analyzed. Artists never intended to show anger and aggression directly, they only used those feelings as an alternative tool in order to create original collection. As an analog for collection, which is under creation, sisters Mulleavy collection “NYC fashion week - 2010 summer. Rodarte“ was chosen. The sketches was created in order for models to be expressive , to reflect the emotions of anger, but still not to be aggressive within. The third section explains the idea of collection, the search for models, sketches, technological samples and elements of decor. Fabrics, theirs structure and tone was chosen according to sketches. In order to better convey the idea of collection, different height models was chosen. 14 models was designed for collection , however only 4 sew .Dark colors, shiny fabrics was chosen for models.
