Architektura v Českých Budějovicích 1850 - 1920 / Architecture in České Budějovice 1850 - 1920

HUŘŤÁKOVÁ HAŠKOVÁ, Sabina January 2011 (has links)
The diploma thesis Architecture in České Budějovice 1850 ? 1920 brings the view of urbanisation?s transformation of the town and its architectonical evolution. With new working conditions, which brought new rising of factories, and thanks to the new railway construction new population came in South Bohemia. These people did not just look for a job here. They needed an accommodation, too. Because of it many new apartment buildings were built. The richest of them left these new apartment buildings and they built representative villas in outskirts of town and in the new rising suburb. I followed a gradual grow of the buildings, which were important for the city life, for example: hotels, restaurants, cafes, later also department stores and banks. The schools played the big role in people?s education. In České Budějovice Czech and German schools were grown and during the time most of the schools built their own buildings and with which construction and architecture I dedicated an individual chapter. In the last chapter I introduced my readers with the new buildings such as the Town Museum, the Justice Palace, the District House, the German House, or with the new building the railway station in České Budějovice. I didn?t just follow the situation of these buildings, but also their architecture and personalities, who participated in their construction.

The core of talayotic buildings was a naveta and megalithic tombs, whose using were abandoned just at the beginning of Iron Age. The talayotic architecture was developing on proper way in the manner of the insular cultures of occidental Mediterraen Sea until the Fenicians arrived ,in the same time the construction of talayots had declined. On the other hand the santuaries and taulas had reached their full using. Approximately in the 6 century in postalayotic period megalitic culture disapeared definitely.
