Time, Being and Narrative are mobilized in favor of building a dynamic, technologically mediated sphere between the Singular and the Transversal. Product placement and its legal aspectsKorčeková, Andrea January 2009 (has links)
The thesis deals with analysis of legal aspects of product placement. First, it looks at product placement from a general point of view. The work explains past legal framework where product placement was a part of "unfair competition" both in EU and Czech Republic. Then, it analyzes particular articles of directive 2007/65/EC which regulates the term product placement as the first in the history. The analyses showed that there are a lot of vague and disputable terms, e. g. "significant value", provision "free of charge", or ensuring that viewers are "clearly informed" about existence of product placement. Further, the work analyzes an implementation of the directive to the czech law and its comparison with Slovakia. Product placement was translated into czech law as "umístění produktu". The implementation is reflected in the "on-demand audiovisual media services Act" but also in the amendment of Act Nr. 231/2001 Sb. By contrast, Slovakia did not create a new special Act for non-linear audiovisual media services, just amended Act Nr. 308/2000 Z.z. and some other affecting laws. Finally, the work confronts the legal theory with praxis. This is done by a survey. The most important result of the survey showed that almost a half of the respondents think that product placement is not a commercial practice. This fact highlights the importance of ensuring that viewers are "clearly informed" about the existence of product placement and also the provision of consumer protection.

Construção e validação de vídeo educativo para adesão às precauções-padrão por trabalhadores de enfermagem expostos a material biológico / Construction and validation of educational video for adherence to standard precautions by nursing workers exposed to biological materialPorto, Janete Silva 01 September 2017 (has links)
Nursing workers are exposed to various occupational hazards, and those of a biological nature stand out for the damages caused to workers and institutions. As part of the measures to prevent biological risks, the Standard Precautions (SP) are recommended worldwide, even if there are low or only partial adherence in several countries. Objective: to construct and validate an educational video in order to stimulate adherence to PP by nursing workers. Method: research carried out in two phases: 1) a descriptive study with a quantitative approach; 2) methodological study. The first one was attended by 197 nursing workers working in two hospitals in Cuiabá / Mato Grosso, who answered the questions of the Questionnaires for Knowlegde and Compliance with Standard Precaution (translated in Portuguese). The data were collected in June 2016, stored in spreadsheets and analyzed using the Epi Info program, version 7.2. In the second phase, based on the data obtained in the previous stage and on scientific evidence, the educational video \"Workplace Safety in health services: adherence to standard precautions\" was built according to the theoretical framework of the Health Promotion Model (Revised) of Nola Pender. In this stage, 13 experts participated who validated the video based on the Delphi technique. Results: the sample consisted predominantly of women (91.88%), with a mean age of 36.6 years, 79.19% of nursing technicians and 20.81% of nurses. Among the participants, 37.57% reported one or more occupational accidents with exposure to biological material. The non-notification of accidents was informed by 29.72% of the workers; 90.36% of the respondents were immunized against hepatitis B. Concerning the knowledge about PP, the hit rates ranged from 6.1% to 99%, with an average of 79.19% (SD ± 25.77), and the items that presented the greatest knowledge deficit were those related to objectives and the use of PP in caring for patients with tuberculosis, chickenpox, syphilis and hepatitis B. Most workers mentioned the desire to participate in training on the use of SP. The percentage of adherence to standard precautions ranged from 36.04% to 95.43%, with a mean of 78.40% (SD ± 16.39), with low compliance items: adequate use of some individual protection equipment, to avoid the encapsulation of used needles and the procedures after the exposure to biological material. In the validation process the script obtained 92.31% and video 92.86% of consensus, being valid to be used by health professionals to stimulate the use of SP. Conclusions: in general, \"good knowledge\" and \"good adherence\" were found, but lack of knowledge on some issues and partial adherence to SP, although most of them mentioned participation in training, demanding a review of the educational strategies of the researched institutions. The video constructed and based on reality and scientific evidence, validated with a consensus of more than 90%, is a tool to be used to stimulate adherence to SP and be inserted in programs of permanent education to promote health at work.

Abstract: As we approach issues related to body, it is crucial to consider them beyond the biological aspect. A body is liable to historical, cultural, social, political and technological influences, so it is not only a cluster of organs, but also its clothes, accessories, plugged-in technologies and ways of being and reacting. Bodies also go through changes because of the intricate exchanges in meaning roduction, that is, because of the representations in which judgments and prejudgments, as well as
various and diverse identities, knowledges and bodies are constructed. Meanings of what body is are constructed, delivered, affirmed and reaffirmed by a number of processes and pedagogical stances which appeal to us in what is shown and in what is hidden. One can note that nowadays, from these many pedagogical stances, the media are seen as decisive. Through their cultural artifacts and their pedagogical devices, on the media bodies are produced, controlled, represented and normalized.
As a qualitative research with descriptive and explanatory purposes and data collection from a documentary source, this study aims at analyzing the media discourses on the TV show "Medida Certa" (Right Measure) in its first edition, discussing the possible normalization mechanisms regarding body on the program. The discourses from the 12 first season episodes, as well as from the book which
followed, are analyzed. This is done based on the premises highlighted by Fischer (2012) about the elements in Discourse Analysis from a foucauldian perspective. Realize the strategies of media language and the presence of standard-setting mechanisms for the body, with some prescriptive related to biological scientific discourse , linked to health parameters and characterizing the box " Medida Certa " as promoter of influence on behavior human.

Do fato à notícia e ao filme : o assalto ao trem pagador /Gomes, Márcia Valéria Alves. January 2010 (has links)
Concluímos, com essa análise, que cada meio utiliza a melhor estratégia discursiva na produção do conteúdo de seus produtos midiáticos, visando conquistar o interesse do seu público-alvo / Abstract: The aim of this work was to examine the implementation of a report about a fact critically: the robbery to a great payer train, which occurred in Rio de Janeiro (BR) in 1960 and whole news was published by O Globo, a Brazilian newspaper. We research how the factual was narrated buy audiovisual media, through the reproduction of that fact itself into a film discourse. We have found out that O assalto ao Trem Pagador presents a new reading of the facts in order to reach the expectator's audiovisual medium. Our goal was set as soon as it has been realized that the film discourse took the media discourse as a source of information to change the real facts into another version of the events, which now approaches and departs from media discourse. Such version had its newspaper language adapted to the audivisual media. Through the investigation of occurrences, similarities and differences between both media discourse and the meaning generation to the target audience of each means, newspaper and cinema, we have analyzed the discursive strategies that were used by the media means to recreate a believable context with the resemblance to the real fact. As we believe the journalistic discourse has served as a source of information for elaborating the film discourse, we chose a method allow us to define the similarities and differences between these discourses, thus we have opted for a comparative analytical methodology. We have concluded from this analysis that each medium tries to use the best communicative strategy, or strategies, in the production of a discursive content for their media products so that the product can capture the interest of their target audience / Mestre

The attitudes of Swedish viewers regarding the quality of translation in audiovisual mediaFors, Sofia January 2013 (has links)
In this study I have evaluated the answers from 39 informants regarding their attitudes towards the translations of English-language movies and TV series into Swedish. In addition the informants also answered questions on how they perceive their own proficiency in English. The ages of the informants range from 12 to past retirement age. The informants have different backgrounds in terms of education, but all of them have Swedish as their native language. This study shows that there is a certain level of discontent, amongst viewers in Sweden, when it comes to the quality, of subtitling and dubbing in audiovisual media. Due to these findings I ultimately argue that the area of audiovisual media is in need of further research and possibly improvements as well.

Využití reklamních spotů ve výuce němčiny jako cizího jazyka / Use of Commercials in Teaching German as a Foreign LanguageKopůncová, Ráchel January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the use of commercials in teaching of German as a foreign language. Its aim is to describe the didactic potential of working with commercials and to find out whether teachers employ them in their practice and how they perceive them. The theoretical part of the thesis considers the key concepts related to this issue, the use of commercials in education in terms of criteria for their appropriate selection and advantages and disadvantages of their employment in teaching. The dominating subject of the practical part is a research survey among teachers who teach German as a second foreign language at the second level of primary education. The research was carried out by means of a questionnaire survey and an expert assessment. Its aim was to document the current situation of the employment of commercials in teaching and, based on an expert assessment of the didactic processing of two commercials, to clarify how teachers approach this issue. The results show that 70 % of teachers use commercials in their lessons, although not very intensively. Surprisingly, commercials are used more often by older teachers with many years of experience. The presented didactic processing would be used by most teachers in their professional practice. Keywords: Audiovisual Media, Advertising,...

The present research aims to explore and understand the role of sound in video games released on the market between 1996 to 2019, using Resident Evil 7 (2017) as a case study.
For a better analysis of the audio section, the study of sound has been divided into two parts: incidental music and sound design, bearing in mind, in addition, that the line that divides music and sound effect is less and less. The first part of the work focuses on the role of incidental music in the video game; the way in which it, as a non-linear and interactive audiovisual medium, needs a different approach than other linear media such as cinema; and a musical analysis of the soundtrack of two video games in the Resident Evil saga more than fifteen years apart, in order to appreciate how the role of music in the video game has evolved. The second part of the work focuses on the role of sound design in the video game; analyzing the complexity of this section; the way in which it interacts with music to the point of interpenetrating, seeing the video game as an interactive medium, favored by this interaction. The third part of the work focuses on the relationship between sound implementation, musical composition, and sound design.
This work seeks to contribute to the study and understanding of sound in the video game, and the relationship of this section with its main characteristics: interactivity and non-linearity. / Trabajo de investigación
