Beletristický obraz první světové války v české a rakouské literatuře / The Image of World War 1 in Czech and Austrian Literature

MIKOLÁŠKOVÁ, Monika January 2007 (has links)
ANNOTATION This submitted thesis is to record the picture of World War I in fiction comparing Czech and Austrian literature. Connections are supposed to be based on historical- cultural contacts and close geographical vicinity in both conceptions. A comparative study of the representative texts which relate to a specific key stage of common history should confirm or doubt these connections. In the introduction the reality of the war conflict, its main consequences and the concrete situation in Bohemian countries is outlined, which serves the purpose of depicting of the atmosphere of the period and simultaneously better understanding of the meaning of literature works. Subsequently the list of basic texts which became the firm part of the common knowledge of given problems is created and at the same time the aspect of the common thematic units is pointed out. And finally two key works of both national branches of literature were chosen and compared analytically. Both principal themes - the attitude towards war, and main motive complexes and the general way of narration are emphasized. The aim of the thesis is not to present the complete list of works dealing with war but to confront literature depiction of the war in Austria and Bohemia from comparable points of view.

Povinnost péče řádného hospodáře v komparativním pohledu / Duty of due managerial care - a comparative point of view

Kasl, František January 2016 (has links)
The main goal by writing of this thesis was to provide a contribution to the discussion regarding the interpretation of selected legal terms contained in the Czech concept of the due managerial care, with the help of comparison with the development of this legal element in the law of neighbouring Austrian republic, which is (to my knowledge) still not significantly professionally accounted for in our academic environment. The Austrian concept of the duty of due managerial care is in Czech academic literature not often considered, therefore I offer in order to allow for mentioned comparison in this thesis an overview analysis of the present legal regulation of the duty of due managerial care in Austrian law, whereas emphasised are the aspects, which are further used in the breakdown of constituent issues, alternatively aspects, which distinguish Austrian law from Czech law. I am trying to provide deeper insight into selected number of topics and to formulate my own conclusions regarding partial issues with the help of comparative findings from the Austrian law in the relation to the most common form of business corporation, the limited liability company. The thesis is divided into two parts, whereas in the first part I deal with the element of due managerial care from the analytical viewpoint of the...

Maturity mismatching and its impact on the yield curve / Maturity mismatching and its impact on the yield curve

Němec, Petr January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with a new discord in the Austrian economic theory about the effects of maturity mismatching practiced by banks on the shape of the yield curve and defines the not yet established concept of the natural yield curve. The conflicting contributions of Austrian authors are compared for that purpose. Based on this comparison, a coherent theory of the effects of maturity mismatching is presented in a framework of the loanable funds market. A definition of the natural yield curve is then produced by a synthesis of the above-mentioned findings and the Austrian theory of the natural rate of interest. Theoretical research leads to the conclusion that one form of maturity mismatching inevitably results in an Austrian business cycle. The empirical section examines the question of yield curve´s behavior under the influence of maturity mismatching. An explanation concerning the selected hypotheses and their lack of confirmation is given.

Ekonomie a informace / Economics and Information

Nohejl, Jiří January 2008 (has links)
Thesis "Economics and Information" advances a consistent theoretic concept of information as part of economic theory. In contrast of contemporary semantic confusions about information in economics this thesis tries to build a meaningful theory based on classical economic studies and conception of information in system theory. The first part is concerned with methodological foundation and contemporary methodological problems of information in economic theory. These issues are crucial for presenting methodological individualism and subjectivism as fundamental approach to understanding role of information in social sciences. This leads to human action as basic framework for studying information. Next part of the thesis describes few basic approaches to information in economics. In comparison with neoclassical views like information asymmetry this thesis propose own praxeology based concept of information. This concept shows information in its duality as a resource of human activities, but also as objective of human action. This duality as resource and objective connect information to concepts of interpretation, knowledge and dynamic processes. The final part of the thesis applies theoretical concepts to economic policy issues and institutional problems.

Neviditeľná ruka trhu: Adam Smith a G. W. F. Hegel / The invisible hand of market: Adam Smith and G. W. F. Hegel

Krištofóry, Tomáš January 2009 (has links)
Hayek's interpretation of Smith's invisible hand as a metaphor for the theory of spontaneous order still holds as the only authentic interpretation of that famous phrase, despite all criticism. Although not many authors noticed it, Hegel was a theorist of spontaneous order, namely also a theorist of the spontaneous order of market economy. There is evidence that Hegel followed here Adam Smith's teachings about the invisible hand. The invisible hand is present in Hegel's writings as an element, from what sprang his theory of spirit. That means that his theory of spirit is a general theory of spontaneous order, although written in metaphysical manner. However, being a theorist of spontaneous order didn't prevent him from being an interventionist. He was led to interventionism by his synoptic fallacy of mind. He never tried to apply this fallacy on the studies of the market economy. Marxists did that. Some of recent scholars (Sciabarra, Johnson, and Cristi) identified Hegel's theory of spontaneous order, but their interpretation wasn't perfectly in accordance with Hegel's texts. How these authors denied Popper's and Hayek's incorrect opinion that Hegel was a totalitarian, thus it is needed to enrich studies of mentioned current scholars. Here it is taken into account only what Hegel wrote, not later authors about him. This thesis is also an attempt to evaluate the history of economic thought from the standpoint of Smith's and Hegel's methodology.

Současná finanční krize, souvislosti jejího vzniku a možná náprava v duchu rakouské školy / Implications, causes and possible reform of the current financial crisis by the Postkeynesian and Austrian view

Vondruška, Tomáš January 2010 (has links)
This diploma thesis is trying to describe implications of current financial crisis by the Postkeynesian and Austrian view. The introduction section focuses on course of events in the United States of America after the September 11 attacks on World Trade Center till outbreak of mortgage crisis in 2007. After 9/11 the Federal Reserve System started to unprecedentedly increase the money supply. Large amount of these new resources flowed to the real estate market. Incurred conditions and implications to other financial sectors till the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in September 2008 are thoroughly studied. The causes of the crisis are being looked through the Postkeynesian and Austrian perspective in this thesis, because the major representatives of these two economic branches were able to predict the crisis coming. By using the works of the Postkeynesian and Austrian economists, possible solutions how to avoid this negative economic event in the future are being mentioned in the final part of this diploma thesis. Their suggestions and proposals contrast each other. Nevertheless I reach certain recommendation here, which shows government's interventions are inappropriate and functionless. These interventions have also harmful influence on the free-market economy function. Moreover they tend to deepen recessions. These arguments are being demonstrated on real cases.

Vybrané aspekty poslední finanční krize / Selected aspects of the latest financial crisis

Vlček, Tomáš January 2014 (has links)
The thesis is dedicated to clarifying the origins and main causes of the economic crisis. In the first part I ilustrate the connection between the monetary policies of central banks and the changes in structure of the production and investments with the help of Austrian Business Cycle Theory. These theoretical assumptions are confronted with the empirical findings from USA throughout the 20th century. The second part discusses other factors leading to the crises, mainly focusing on the 2009 economic crises and various free market and state controlled factors. The thesis discusses these factors from the point of view of theoretical and empirical knowledge of economic science.
