Unga kvinnors upplevelser av att leva med anorexia nervosa : en självbiografisk studie / Young women's experiences of living with anorexia nervosa : an autobiographical study

Bakgrund: Anorexia nervosa (AN) är en psykisk sjukdom med ätstörning och avmagring som följd av en matvägran och aptitlöshet. Den psykiska hälsan bland unga kvinnor blir allt sämre och under de senaste decennierna har förekomsten av AN ökat. Syfte: Att utifrån unga kvinnors perspektiv beskriva upplevelsen av att leva med AN. Metod: En kvalitativ studie där sex självbiografier har analyserats och sammanställts. Resultat: Fyra teman presenteras (1) att inte kunna identifiera sig med sin diagnos, (2) att finna andrum i aktiviteter och goda relationer, (3) att uppleva ett kaos av existentiella känslor och (4) att känna rädsla för det friska. Diskussion: Att leva med AN innebär ett stort lidande som tar sig uttryck i olika former. Trots sjukdom kan ett välbefinnande i vissa situationer upplevas vilket är betydande för hälsoprocessen. Konklusion: När sjuksköterskan ges kunskap om hur livet kan påverkas av AN kan patientens livsvärld bättre förstås. Därigenom kan vården och dess bemötande anpassas till patienten med AN. När upplevelsen av ett gott bemötande uppstår kan hälsoprocessen främjas. / Background: Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a mental illness with eating disorder and emaciation as a result of a refuse to eat and loss of appetite. Mental health among young women is deteriorating and in recent decades, the existence of AN has increased. Aim: To describe the experience of living with AN, based on young women's perspective. Method: A qualitative study where six autobiographies have been analyzed and compiled. Results: Four themes are presented (1) not being able to identify with his diagnosis, (2) to find respite in activity and good relations, (3) to experience a chaos of existential feelings and (4) to feel the fear of it healthy. Discussion: Living with AN means a great suffering which manifests itself in various forms. Despite illness, a well-being can in some situations be experienced which is significant for the health process. Conclusion: When nurse is given knowledge of how life can be affected by AN a patient's life-world can better be understood. This allows the care and treatment to be adapted to the patient with AN. When experience of a good treatment occurs, the health process promotes.

Autobiography or Autobiografiction : A Study of Authenticity in Sumitra Mehraul's Writings

This thesis presents Sumitra Mehraul’s autobiography Ṭūṭe pãkhõ se parvāz tak and her two short stories Phãs and Pratikār and divides them into the categories of autobiography and autobiografiction. The categorization will be done by presenting a summary of each writing, introducing the concepts of autobiography, autobiografiction and Dalit literature. The result is a suggestion on how the writings can be categorized based on their content. Furthermore, discussing the importance of introducing autobiografiction into the categorization of Dalit literature.
