Eklund, Carina, Olsson, Jonas January 2016 (has links)
The use of words such as stress-resistant and flexible are frequently used in job advertisements. Two terms often lack a broader definition or explanation, raises the question what actually is being sought. The purpose of this study is to find out what definitions are behind the choice of words. Interviews was conducted with private and public companies. During the encoding process, it turned out that the synonymous word for flexible was availability, customizable and adaptable. While the overall definition of stress is about how individuals can cope with a high workload and sudden changes. But there were also elements that emerged during the interviews which showed that the concept was deeper than that. It turned out that the relationships at work are important for how the individual experiences the situation. The final conclusion is that there are better words to describe what is requested.

Stromnes, Justina 01 January 1999 (has links)
This study investigates the relationship between traumatic events and PTSD among police officers in KwaZulu-Natal and the mediating effects of coping and social support. The aim of the study was to determine the incidence of PTSD among police officers and whether coping and social support structures act as mediating variables in the stress-illness realtionship. In order to achieve this aim an assessment battery containing Biographical Checklist, the Ways of Coping Checklist, The Index of Social Support and the Dutch Post Traumatic Stress Scale was distributed to a sample of police officers in Kwazulu-Natal. The findings indicate a high incidence of PTSD, among policemen although no significant relationship was found between exposure to traumatic events and PTSD. Further, emotion focused coping strategies, namely, self-blame and wishful thinking, were found to be predictive of PTSD. No significant relationship was established between the availability of social support and satisfaction with social support and PTSD. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M.A. (Industrial Psychology)

Integrace JMS poskytovatelů třetích stran / Integration of JMS Providers to Third Parties

Žiaková, Nikoleta January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with messaging and integration of third-party JMS providers into JBoss application server. The aim of the thesis was to design and implement a general-purpose testsuite to verify the proposed integration. First requirement was to get familiar with key technologies for integration including Java Message Service, Java EE Connector Architecture, selected JMS providers and JBoss AS. Specific procedures of integration were designed and described for JMS providers Apache ActiveMQ, IBM WebSphere MQ and Red Hat MRG Messaging. The testsuite implemented to verify the functionlity of the integration focuses on four areas - transactions, clustering, high availibility and performance. The process of testing was automated using continuous integration tool Jenkins. Finally the test application was used to evaluate functionality of the integration and compare different JMS providers and various versions of JBoss AS.
