The Online Solicitation Management System (OSMS) is a web-based system designed for California State University, San Bernardino's Office of Technology Transfer and Commercialization (OTTC) to run grant proposal solicitations more efficiently. The system accepts grant proposals, finds the best matched evaluators, calculates evaluation scores, and generated reports. Users in the system are divided into five (5) different roles: system administrator, program officer, staff, evaluator and applicant.

Fifty teachers and forty-five probation officers participated in this study which was designed to elicit their opinions on critical risk factors that lead youth to criminal behavior. Risk factors identified included: dropping out of school, participating in gang activity, poverty, using drugs (or just the availability of drugs), parental involvement in criminal activity, and the lack of parental supervision.

As the demand for freshwater resources increases due to increasing human populations, degradation of available resources, and climatic changes it will become increasingly important to understand the factors that impact the physicochemical characteristics of surface water resources over space and time. This study assessed a headwater stream over the course of a year in the San Bernardino National Forest that serves as both surface and groundwater resources for the Santa Ana River Watershed region, the largest and most populated watershed in Southern California. Streams were monitored bi-weekly during dry periods and weekly during wet periods from April 2018 through April 2019 for dissolved oxygen (DO), flow rate, temperature, conductivity, turbidity, pH, nitrate (NO3-), and ammonium (NH4+) with additional lab assessments for total dissolved solids (TDS), E. Coli (EC), and total coliform (TC). Findings illustrated that across the study sites NO3-, NH4+, and TDS exceeded federal and regional water quality standards for a majority of the sampling events (>60 percent). Additionally, NO3-, DO, and flow rates were elevated in the wet season, while conductivity, NH4+, TDS, pH, TC, and EC were elevated during the dry season.

Las bibliotecas populares son organizaciones sin fines de lucro cuya importancia está dada por los servicios que presta y en particular por su misión cultural y educadora. Han sido creadas, en nuestro país, en el siglo XIX con la finalidad de proporcionar a toda la población el acceso a la lectura de libros que posibilitan abrir las puertas a un mundo de conocimiento. Precisamente, con el transcurso del tiempo, las tecnologías de la información y comunicación han facilitado extraordinariamente el acceso a un vasto universo y las organizaciones han desarrollado diversas estrategias para incorporar esas herramientas tecnológicas. Las bibliotecas populares de la ciudad de Bahía Blanca constituyen instituciones que cuentan con el reconocimiento de la comunidad a la que dan sus servicios y tratan de satisfacer las necesidades educativas de todos los segmentos sean niños, jóvenes o mayores. La herramienta informática le permite a estas organizaciones la comunicación interna y externa , la mejora de los sistemas de administración y el acceso a la base de datos de otras bibliotecas. En mi tesis abordo el proceso incorporación de las tecnologías de información y la comunicación en las bibliotecas populares de Bahía Blanca realizando un estudio sobre la Biblioteca Popular Bernardino Rivadavia. En este trabajo se ha investigado cuáles han sido las tecnologías incorporadas, cómo se llevó adelante la capacitación y cuál ha sido la percepción que sobre la misma han tenido los empleados de la biblioteca, durante el período 2004-2010. Luego del análisis de la información recolectada, tanto de documentos como de las expresiones de los entrevistados he llegado a la conclusión general de que la Biblioteca Rivadavia ha desarrollado un estrategia de incorporación de la TICS, con la colaboración de instituciones públicas y privadas. La política de capacitación ha tenido un nivel de aceptación satisfactorio en un gran número de empleados. Puedo afirmar, después de analizar la información obtenida, que una institución de la complejidad de la Biblioteca Rivadavia requiere de un alto grado de compromiso por parte de todos sus miembros para poder cumplir con su misión. / The popular libraries are nonprofit organizations which importance is related to the services that they give and particularly for the its educational and cultural mission. These libraries have been created, in our country,during the XIX century with the purpose of bringing access to read books in order to open the doors to knowledge for all people. Nowadays, the information technologies have been an useful tool that facilitate the access to a wide universe to many organizations. The popular libraries located in the city of Bahia Blanca are institutions which have been acknowledged by the community because of the services they provide to it trying to satisfy the educational needs of either kids or young and old people. The electronic resources let organizations have better internal and external communication. In the same way they may improve the information management and have access to other libraries database. In my thesis, I aproach the process of introduction of the information technologies in the popular libraries of Bahía Blanca, focussing on one of them, the Biblioteca Popular Bernardino Rivadavia. In this research I studied which technologies have been introduced, the way the training was performed and the perception the employees have about this training, along the period 2004-2010. After analisying the information gathered from documents and interviews I have arrived to a general conclusión that the Biblioteca Rivadavia has developed an strategy for introducing the information technologies with the collaboration of prívate and public organizations. The training policy has been well received by the employees. We may say that an organization of such a complexity as Biblioteca Rivadavia has, needs employees with high commitment to accomplish its mission.

This study was designed to determine how knowledgeable child welfare social workers are of substance abuse when working with substance abusing clients. The results indicated that social workers within San Bernardino County have competent levels of knowledge in substance abuse which allow them to provide appropriate services to the community members they serve.

This thesis employed a series of surveys of Asian Americans residing in the Inland Empire to determine their personal views towards direct marketing. Data is broken out by age, gender, ethnicity and employment status.

The purpose of this study is to obtain a profile of San Bernardino Latino foster emancipated youth regarding their positive and challenging experiences. The focus is on emancipated youth and immigrant acculturation. The study examined the kinds of programs and factors that have had the most success in enabling foster youth to become independent adults.

Investigates kin caregiver's perceptions about social workers and child welfare agencies they worked with in caring for court dependent relative children who are/were placed in their care. A stratified random sample from 150 interviews of kin caregivers with dependent relative children maintained by San Bernardino and Riverside County Child Protective Services allowed for qualitative analysis of interview responses that related kin caregiver's perceptions of social workers and social service agencies. Results indicate that some relative caregivers were satisfied with the support they received from social workers/agency staff, while others did not feel supported at all.

The objective of this project is to develop an activity guide for the California native plant trail located adjacent to the San Bernardino County Museum that allows families to discover native California plants while increasing environmental and cultural sensitivity.

The purpose of this study is to examine the level of social support in a sample of foster youth nearing emancipation. Additionally this study seeks to examine if a relationship between social support and anxious and/or avoidant attachment styles can be observed.
