No. of bitstreams: 1 1708.pdf: 214229 bytes, checksum: 39ccd86464f398137958a0e24e25acad (MD5) Previous issue date: 2004-08-11 / His study comprises the analysis of the main gabling options available for the Brazilian people emphasizing the 'bingos' (a kind of Casino), which were recently shut down by Federal Government. Sundenly they have opened up again due to a decision from the senators defeating the Federal Government. This situation is the key point for a interesting study and conclusion. The focus is on the changing operation of the 'bingos' afterwards the introduction of the slot machines, video poker and so on. These machines have been attracting more and more people who became adicts. Thus the strategy of the 'bingos' have changed in order to preserve the business. It could be seen along this study that those machines, from which results are not randomic, have sky rocketed the profits of the 'bingos' so that the conventional games were back off.

The construction of the proposal, for application in the 7th Year of Elementary School, was divided into moments such as Souza's methodology. Finally we did the analysis and justification of the importance of the proposal and the use of games in Mathematics teaching, based on the questions of Cabral and the perspectives of Regina Grando, Tizuko Kishimoto and Cristiano Muniz. Our Goldbach Bingo proposal was designed to help teachers improve content such as even and odd numbers, prime numbers, and the Sieve of Eratosthenes and also the Goldbach Conjecture.

08 May 2021 (has links)

Sorel, Virginie 19 February 2021 (has links)
In Quebec, gambling games have been modernized and computerized over the years. In October 2018, the game of bingo was reinvented with the pilot implementation of the electronic tablet in five bingo halls in Quebec. The electronic tablet has raised several questions about the risk of gambling problems due to the vulnerability of the bingo clientele and the risks associated with the structural characteristics of an automated game. The study aims to verify the change in gambling behavior following the introduction of electronic bingo (Bingo +), among money spent, playing time, limits set, alcohol consumed and problem gambling as assessed by the Problem Gambling Severity Index [PGSI] and an adapted version for bingo [PGSI-bingo]. It has been postulated that in post-implementation of the tablet, Bingo + players will exhibit more problematic gambling behaviors than traditional bingo players. Bingo + (n = 87) and traditional bingo (n = 207) players were interviewed using semi-structured telephone interviews in pre and post implementation of nine months. Contrary to what was postulated, Bingo + players only differ from traditional bingo players on the length of the game sessions and on PGSI-bingo score. Between the times of measurement, Bingo + players show an increase on the PGSI-bingo score, while traditional bingo players show a reduction in the length of the game sessions, and report, in greater proportion, setting and respecting their limit, as well as lower PGSI scores. Qualitative studies could document the experience with the tablet and the resulting gaming atmosphere in pilot bingo halls. Clinical recommendations also highlight the important investment of players in the practice of bingo.

Effects of Tai Chi Exercise on Fine and Gross Motor Function in Older Adults Residing in Independent Living

Talwar, Saira 04 May 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Tai Chi exercise on motor skills in older adults residing in independent living. Twenty-eight self-ambulatory older adults (age: 77 8.92; male: N = 1, female: N = 27) with no serious or restrictive health conditions, MMSE score 21, or recent surgery, completed this study. Participants engaged in one-hour biweekly Tai Chi exercise or BINGO sessions for eight weeks. Fine and gross motor skills were tested at four time-points throughout the study. Repeated measures 2x4 [2(Tai Chi exercise x BINGO) x 4(Baseline x Intraintervention x Post x Retention)] RM ANOVA was used with alpha of 0.05. Significant differences noted in fine motor function tasks (nondominant > dominant hand), and for the 6MWT, suggesting that Tai Chi exercise or BINGO may help older adults to perform activities of daily living, maintain independency, and gain a better quality of life.

Rozdíly a podobnosti mezi obchodními a environmentálními skupinami v rámci jednání OSN o klimatu / Differences and similarities between business and environmental constituencies within UN climate negotiations

Henley, Morgan January 2017 (has links)
The leader of the climate change regime is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) which hosts the international climate change negotiations at the annual Conference of Parties (COP). In addition to official parties which represent nations in the UNFCCC, businesses and environmental groups are also playing a role in the negotiations as observers, which are grouped together in constituencies. This research will look at the two largest and original constituencies, the Business NGOs (BINGOs) and the Environmental NGOs (ENGOs) which represent business and environmental groups respectively. Both constituencies have a focal point for their members with the UNFCCC Secretariat, which for BINGOs is the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Climate Action Network (CAN) for ENGOs. Specifically, this paper compares the ICC and CAN and finds similarities and differences between their functioning within the UNFCCC in regards to their ability to build coherent policies between their members and how transparent they are in their activities. It was predicted that businesses groups have a harder time working together and are less transparent than the environmental groups which the research indeed confirmed. A series of interviews with various actors in the climate negotiations...
