Deformačně napěťová analýza femuru s distrakčním intramedulárním hřebem / Strain and stress analysis of the femur with distraction intramedullary nail

This master's thesis is focused on determination and analysis of stress and strain in femur with distraction intramedullary nail for treating leg length discrepancy with the method of distraction osteogenesis. Thesis is mainly focused on states after distraction when the callus consolidates. Problem of determining stress and strain is solved by computational modeling using FEM. Detailed description of modeling is included in this thesis, complicated 3D geometry of bone was acquired from segmentation of CT images. Computational model is solve with 4 different types of callus geometry and also material properties of callus are varied. The influence on stress and strain when the middle distal screw is not applied is also analyzed.

Výpočtové modelování šíření hlasu okolo hlavy člověka pomocí metody konečných prvků / Computational modelling of voice propagation around the human head using finite element method

In the first part of this master's thesis there is briefly presented the biomechanics of the human voice creation and an overview of the hitherto published computational models of the vocal tract and dissemination of the acoustic waves around the human head. The second part of the thesis deals with the creation of the computational model of a dissemination of the acoustic waves through vocal tract and further into a space around the head during the pronouncing of the Czech vowel /a:/. The vocal tract is excited by a harmonic signal in the place of vocal chords. On the surface of the vocal tract and the part of the head including hair and skin there is defined an acoustic absorption. The dissemination of the acoustic waves in the vocal tract, in the near field around the mouth, in the area around the head and in the points on the cheeks is detailed mapped. The dissemination of the acoustic waves is analyzed in the points where the speech microphones are placed. Acoustic pressure dependence on frequency, transmission functions between defined points and the acoustic pressure amplitudes depending on the distance from the mouth are obtained. In particular, the frequency distortion of the spectra is observed at the points indicated. Furthermore, the radiation impedance in the mouth area is evaluated. The results obtained are compared with the results of the hitherto published experimental measurements and can be used for the exact measurement of human voice or for the frequency correction of the microphones during the scann of the speech and sing placced in the analyzed points.

This diploma thesis deals with analysis of the rigidity of different variations of foot fixations. In the thesis there is a description of elementary anatomy of foot and its patology. Furthermore the possible corrections of hallux deformities and chosen fixators are described. The problem of analysis is soluted by the method of finite elements. The thesis also includes steps of geometery model creation based on 3D scanning. Three differents types of fixations are compared in this thesis and each of them is created in two different levels of details. There is a comparation, analysis of final solutions and chosen influences on the rigidity in the conclusion.

Použití fluidně-strukturní interakce u kmitajících lidských hlasivek / Application of Fluid-structure Interaction on Oscillating Human Vocal Folds

The presented thesis is involved in the biomechanics of phonation. The aim of the thesis is to set a fluid-structure interaction between the vocal folds and air flow when the pressure from lungs reaches the physiological values. In the expected outcome the self-oscillating vocal folds should be observable with characteristics shape-shift from convergent to divergent. In theory part of the thesis is described Anatomy of the vocal tract, physiology of the human phonation, research of computational simulations, experiments and visualisation methods are described in the theory part of the thesis. In the second part, setup of computational simulation with the finite element method is presented. Besides of the fluid-structure interaction the acoustical model is set. Achieved results are presented and compared to the results in literature. Displacements are evaluated from the structural model and pressures, velocities and flow velocities are evaluated from fluid model, so as acoustics results.

Vliv anatomie dolní končetiny na rozvoj neúrazových bolestí kolenního kloubu / Influence of anatomical parameters on development of non-traumatical knee pain

This thesis focuses on measurement of anatomical parameters of lower limb in patients with non-traumatical anterior knee pain. Theoretical part of this work describes basic anatomical, kinesiological and biomechanical knowledge about lower limb. Also there are described basic non-traumatical pathologies of knee and how to assess them. Methodology: in experimental part there were examined and measured these parameters: Q angel, foot pronation and range of hip rotation of 28 sportsmen, of which 7 had unilateral anterior knee pain and 4 had bilateral anterior knee with no previous traumatic experience of the knee. Assessing of angles was made through photographic goniometry using Adobe Illustrator to measure angles on digital pictures. Results: the work did not confirm any of hypothesis, that a statistically significant deviation would be found in patients with anterior knee pain compared to heathy population in at least one of the measured parameters. However further analysis of measured data showed statistically significant correlations between foot pronation and range of internal hip rotation and Q angle and range of external hip rotation both in patients with anterior knee pain compared to healthy population where no such correlation was found. Výpočtové modelování samobuzeného kmitání lidských hlasivek / Computational Modelling of Self- oscillations of the Human Vocal Folds

The presented dissertation thesis deals with a simulation of the human phonation in terms of latest theories. Phonation is considered here as a bi-directional fluid-structure-acoustic interaction, where the interaction between all three physical domains occurs due to the unsteady viscous compressible Navier-Stokes equations. There is a solid knowledge background in the first part of the thesis. It concerns the latest concepts in computational modeling of the human phonation, the most important and recent theories about the human voice production and some key aspects of the human anatomy, physiology and pathology. Also voice assessment is discussed. The second part of the thesis describes an in-depth analysis of a phonation simulation in a planar computational model. The basic concepts proceed from algorithms developed in the Institute of Solid Mechanics, Mechatronics and Biomechanics. Created models are able to reproduce sounds of all Czech vowels and the most common evaluated parameters very close to physiological ranges. The simulated pathology, Reinke's edema, is demonstrated in order to explore its influence on the vowel sound. The third part focuses on modeling of phonation in a spatial computational model. All Czech vowels are simulated also here and compared to the planar model and to actual measurement. The spatial model serves as the starting point to modeling of a longitudinal pretension incorporated in the vocal folds. In the last part of the thesis, a modeling of the phonation with vocal folds pretension is investigated. Although the models are tuned to a rather soft phonation, the results are in agreement with the relevant physiologic phenomena. While the spatial model is highly computationally expensive, a hybrid planar model with pretension is proposed. A special attention is paid to the analysis of self-sustained oscillation of the vocal folds. It is shown, the planar model cannot reproduce such kind of oscillation in the actual version, albeit time of oscillation was considerably extended. On the other hand, oscillation of the spatial vocal folds are stabilized without effects accompanying subduing of oscillation. It can be supposed that the spatial model is able to reproduce self-sustained oscillation as a basic principle present during the human phonation.

Title: Falls in the eldery Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze and classify knowlage about falls in the eldery during usual daily activities with focus on prevencion and detection of falls by useing wearable and non wearable systems for detecting falls in the eldery. Methods: This diploma thesis is wrote with the metod of literary research through professional literature, books and articles in both Czech and English was used in the work. To meet the objectives that have been provided were selected examples that helped analyze and clarify the issue of falls in eldery. Results: The sources of professional literature have shown that the falls in the eldery are very serious issue of society. At the same time, it is important to be aware of their possible health and economic impacts, as well as how to prevent them. The correct use of fixation shoes has been shown to reduce the risk of fall. Many fall detection devices are able to call for timely help. Last but not least, knowlage of this issue could help to improve and innovate the fall detecion and prevention systems. Title: The effect of flat feet on the stability of the ankle joint of floorball players. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to determine whether a flat feet has any effects on the floorball players' ankle joint stability. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the chronic ankle instability, other leg pathologies and on the options of therapeutic interventions. Eventually, the thesis provides summary and output data for physiotherapist, sport couches and the examined players. Methods: First a literature study was conducted to establish a theoretical framework. Based on the feature/aspect examination of longitudinal foot arching and an initial questionnaire 10 particular subjects aged 22 to 29 were selected, all of them form the TJ Tatran Střešovice team. The subjects were divided in 2 groups - with longitudinal flat feet and without longitudinal flat feet pathology. The examined subjects were scored with negative points according to occurrence of any pathologies. Both groups were also benchmarked in the Star Excursion Balance Test that determined feet dynamic stability index.
