MUSCLES ACTIVATIONS DURING "SHOULDER MOUNT" POLE ACROBATIC EXERCISE

Sanni, Modinat January 2016 (has links)
Author: Bc. Modinat Sanni Supervisor: Ing. Miroslav Vilímek, PhD Title: MUSCLES ACTIVATION DURING "SHOULDER MOUNT"POLE ACROBATIC EXERCISE Purpose: This study is an empirical - theoretical study presents the literature review regarding to the topic of the shoulder function anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, non-traumatic injuries of the shoulder and their prevention by using the available literatures. Further, the study also compares by surface electromyography the amplitudes, shapes and durations of myoelectric signals of m. latissimus dorsi, m. pectoralis maior, m. biceps brachii, m. infraspinatus and m. supraspinatus of dominant shoulder in two healthy individuals during acrobatic exercise on vertical pole known as "Shoulder Mount". The purpose was monitor the changes in two different conditions; i.e. kinesiotape and elbow brace and compare with the control condition for the reason of finding out their ability to affect the myoelectric activities of selected muscles. Further, the Shoulder Mount exercise had recorded by six Qualisys cameras for motion analyses. Methods and materials: The potentially eligible scientific articles perform a search of studies on the topic of kinesiotapes and tennis elbow brace as measured by EMG mainly on myoelectric activity of the shoulder complex were seared from...

A Study of the Validity of the Brace Basketball Achievement Tests for Girls as a Measure of Real Playing Ability of Individual Players of District 30 B University of Texas Interscholastic League for the 1954 Season

Greer, Alfred E. January 1954 (has links)
The investigator had the following purposes in undertaking the present study: 1. To determine the accuracy of the Brace Basketball Achievement Test in measuring a girl's real playing ability. 2. To determine to what extent the Brace Basketball Achievement Test can be relied upon to rank the players of a girls Interscholastic League basketball squad. 3. To determine to what extent the Brace Basketball Achievement Test can be relied upon to rank girls basketball squads in an Interscholastic League district. 4. To determine the degree to which the Brace Basketball Test can be relied upon as an aid for the selection of players for a high school girls basketball squad.

Zastřešení autobusové stanice / Roof Structure of Bus Station

Roušar, Martin January 2012 (has links)
The scope of the thesis is to design a roof substructure bus station in the area of Vysoké Mýto. The structure is designed of steel S355. This is the platform on the roof of two islands. The thesis has been processed by solving two variants, each variant were considered the main structural elements and then comparison was made between the two variants. Of these, one variant was selected for further processing. The first variant has a plan shape of a triangle with maximum dimensions of 58.00 m x 26,75 m. The main load-bearing structure consists of steel columns and girders of rolled sections, or HEB of castellated beams. The girders is the roof structure from rolled I profiles. Covering the roof is designed from the glass with supporting substructure of aluminum profiles. Rigidity is ensured in two ways braces of steel bars. The second option (which was selected for further processing) is L - shaped ground plan with maximum dimensions of 55,25 m x 33.40 m. The main supporting structure is made of rolled steel frames, HEB profiles and rods of steel bars. Supporting roof structure is designed of steel rolled I profiles. Roofing is again solved using the glass structure of aluminum profiles. Rigidity is ensured in two ways braces of steel bars.

SYSTEM-LEVEL SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF CONCENTRICALLY BRACED FRAMES WITH REPLACEABLE BRACE MODULES

Mohsenzadeh, Vahid January 2020 (has links)
Concentrically braced frames with replaceable brace modules (RBMs) have the potential of improving the constructability of braced frames, mitigating the structural damage during earthquakes, and minimizing the time of post-earthquake repairs. To fill the gaps between the component-level performance of RBMs and system-level behaviour of SCBFs with RBMs, this thesis focused on the overall system-level seismic performance of SCBFs with RBMs in three steps. Firstly, the effects of beam-column connection fixity on the behaviour of three SCBFs were investigated to determine what level of fixity, if any, is required to ensure adequate collapse capacity of an SCBF. Secondly, the effects of column design parameters on braced frame seismic performance were investigated, where two different brace-to-frame connections were considered: 1) conventional gusset plate connection and 2) the newly proposed connection detail with RBMs. Detailed numerical modelling was undertaken to develop improved provisions for designing columns in SCBFs. Finally, a large-scale experimental program was conducted to evaluate the seismic performance of braced frames with initial and replaced RBMs where realistic boundary conditions were provided. Three different beam-column connections that can be used in SCBFs with RBMs were designed and tested. Based on the current work, the recently proposed concept of replaceable brace modules, accompanied by the recommended methods for designing columns and detailing beam-column connections, appears to be a promising approach. The fabrication and installation are simpler, the seismic performance is similar to that of SCBFs with currently accepted connection detailing, and the approach can increase the post-earthquake reparability of steel concentrically braced frames. / Dissertation / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Víceúčelová sportovní hala / Multi-purpose sports building

Mešťan, Vojtěch January 2012 (has links)
The objective of this Master´s thesis is to create and examine two versions of the project for a bearing steel structure of a multi-purpose sports building) in Polička. The multi-purpose sports hall has dimensions 33 x 48 metres with a terraced floory part that has dimensions 18 x 24 metres. The hall is made of cross-links from lattice truss placed on fixed columns. The structure ridgidity is by wind braces. The storey part is made coupled steel-conrete slabs attached to the columns. The ridgidity of the storey part is provided by lattice braces in traverse and longitudinal direction. The thesis in its detail focuses on individual parts of the construction and is carried out in compliance with the Eurocodes
