Lifesafety Analysis in the Building Firesafety Method

Ghosh, Gregory 07 December 2004 (has links)
"The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate and enhance the technical basis of the procedure for evaluating lifesafety within the Building Firesafety Engineering Method (BFSEM). A framework for the analysis has been documented, but not extensively tested in a building situation. Hence, procedures to obtain the necessary input data and to evaluate that data needed to be developed. In addition, the general framework had to be tested rigorously enough to identify weaknesses. "

Admissible height and urban density of buildings for the Prospective Management of Seismic Risk in residential areas

Herrera, Fabiola, Mamani, Flaby, Arana, Victor 30 September 2020 (has links)
This research proposes limit values of height and population density of buildings for a Prospective Management of Seismic Risk in residential areas. The analysis of an efficient evacuation of buildings to the street or refuge area was carried out, evaluating human behavior with models based on the agent, the influence of buildings and the urban parameters of the city with three-dimensional models (BIM) for a severe seismic scenario. The present article establishes that the maximum permissible height of buildings projected in a residential avenue is directly related to the width of the available refuge zone to guarantee the correct evacuation of said zone during a severe seismic event. In addition, an evaluation of a real existing scenario is made in a section of a residential avenue.

Zhodnocení vlivu požárně bezpečnostních zařízení na bezpečnost unikajících osob z objektu / Evaluation of the impact of fire safety equipment for the safety of persons escaping from the building

MÍCHAL, Petr January 2012 (has links)
The safety evacuation from the fire affected building is the most imported thing, which is bound to the fire safety of building. The evacuation of persons is necessary process and procedure which can safe lives and health in the most of extraordinary event caused by fire of buildings or technologies. The typical efect attend fires set in buildings, which threaten persons, property and fire - fighting fire brigades. These threaten efects are products of combustion, flame, heat and deficiency of oxygen. I present the way how to use the fire safety devices in various types of buildings in my diploma work, above all towards to safety escape persons from the fire affected building. I describe the practical positive and also negative finding during installation and mutual coordination the fire safety devices.

Herrera Auccatinco, Elba Fabiola, Mamani Roque, Flaby Paola Aracely 30 June 2021 (has links)
Evolution is intrinsic to human beings and our environment evolves with us. The construction industry at the hands of man's need, seeks not only a territorial horizontal growth, but also a vertical one. However, this projection in the heights is limited to a fully spatial management with little interest in the transit capacity and refuge areas of the human agent during a seismic event. This research carries out an evaluation of a real existing scenario of the section of the avenue under study and the analysis of hypothetical scenarios with variation in the width of the refuge area. In this way, limit values of height and population density of buildings are proposed for a Prospective Management of Seismic Risk, taking as a base example a section of Av. San Felipe in Lima-Peru. The analysis of an efficient evacuation of the buildings towards the refuge area was carried out with models based on the agent with the Pathfinder software, three-dimensional models (BIM), evacuation times, the influence of the buildings, human behavior and the parameters were analyzed. zonal urban planning. The results of the present work graphically establish the pertinent direct relationship of the maximum permissible height of the projected buildings with the width of the refuge area for a correct evacuation. As an example, there is a section of Av. San Felipe with a 7m width of the refuge area corresponding to 18 floors as the limit height in the 10 adjacent buildings considering a total frontal length of 144m. / Tesis
