of João Pessoa-PB, Brazil Cabo Branco, Tambaú e Manaíra , with a view to
grasp the principles and concepts underlying the adoption of that instrument. The
discussion of the issue required an analysis of the relations between density and the
performance of the urban organism. A simulation was made to foresee the
densification of a sample of Tambaú district following the present legislation and the
tendencies of the property market and the impact of this densification on the local
traffic was pointed out. The research has shown that the instrument in question and
the other relevant legislation are not able to control effectively the local density / O presente trabalho discute a questão do gabarito escalonado em vigor na orla
marítima de João Pessoa - PB (bairros do Cabo Branco, de Tambaú e de Manaíra),
buscando esclarecer os princípios e conceitos que fundamentaram a adoção desse
mecanismo. Para embasar a discussão do tema, analisaram-se as relações entre a
densidade e o funcionamento do organismo urbano. Foi simulado um adensamento
em conformidade com a legislação vigente e as tendências do mercado de um
trecho do bairro de Tambaú e verificaram-se as repercussões dele no funcionamento
do sistema viário. Constatou-se na pesquisa que a legislação em vigor na área
sujeita ao gabarito escalonado não consegue controlar de forma eficaz a densidade local

The analysis of an efficient evacuation of buildings to the street or refuge area was carried out, evaluating human behavior with models based on the agent, the influence of buildings and the urban parameters of the city with three-dimensional models (BIM) for a severe seismic scenario. The present article establishes that the maximum permissible height of buildings projected in a residential avenue is directly related to the width of the available refuge zone to guarantee the correct evacuation of said zone during a severe seismic event. In addition, an evaluation of a real existing scenario is made in a section of a residential avenue.

Such as the logistics during the whole process from start to finishand more important the configurations of the building. This can include fire safety and theload from the wind.Through academic literatures and by interviewing people with key positions during theconstruction of tall buildings in Sweden we have gathered a foundation of information onhow to tackle the problems that occurring when constructing tall buildings.The aim of this degree project is to highlight the problems of the construction of tall buildingsand find suitable solutions of how to effectively minimize or solve the problems.

This thesis is devoted to the shadow detection and compensation in aerial
images with application of the detection results to building height detection.
Shadows could be defined as the parts of the scene that is not directly
illuminated by a light source due to obstructing object or objects. Usually the
shadows in images or video are undesirable, since they could cause
degradation of the expected results during processing of the image or video
for object detection, segmentation, scene surveillance or similar purposes.
However shadow information could also be used for beneficial purposes like
revealing information about the object&rsquo / s shape, orientation and even about
the light source. In this thesis firstly shadow detection methods are
overviewed. Beside the selected methods from literature, some novel
approaches are also proposed and experimented. Then shadow
compensation methods are overviewed and experimented. Finally an
example of beneficial utilizations of shadow information is studied, where
buildings&rsquo / heights are estimated from their shadow length and sun angles.

Utility-Preserving Face Redaction and Change Detection For Satellite ImageryHanxiang Hao (11540203) 22 November 2021 (has links)
<div><div><div><p>Face redaction is needed by law enforcement and mass media outlets to guarantee privacy. In this thesis, a performance analysis of several face redaction/obscuration methods, such as blurring and pixelation is presented. The analysis is based on various threat models and obscuration attackers to achieve a comprehensive evaluation. We show that the traditional blurring and pixelation methods cannot guarantee privacy. To provide a more secured privacy protection, we propose two novel obscuration methods that are based on the generative adversarial networks. The proposed methods not only remove the identifiable information, but also preserve the non-identifiable facial information (as known as the utility information), such as expression, age, skin tone and gender.</p><p>We also propose methods for change detection in satellite imagery. In this thesis, we consider two types of building changes: 2D appearance change and 3D height change. We first present a model with an attention mechanism to detect the building appearance changes that are caused by natural disasters. Furthermore, to detect the changes of building height, we present a height estimation model that is based on building shadows and solar angles without relying on height annotation. Both change detection methods require good building segmentation performance, which might be hard to achieve for the low-quality images, such as off-nadir images. To solve this issue, we use uncertainty modeling and satellite imagery metadata to achieve accurate building segmentation for the noisy images that are taken from large off-nadir angles.</p></div></div></div>

Möjligheter med KL-trä : Hur en betongstomme kan omformas till en KL-trästomme / Possibilities with CLT : A redesign of a concrete structure to a CLT structureTöttrup, Hampus, Renström, Gunnar January 2018 (has links)
KL-trä är ett stommaterial som blir allt intressantare på marknaden. Kunskapen är hos mångakonstruktörer idag begränsad. Genom att utgå från en betongstomme, där många konstruktörer har goderfarenhet av projektering och dimensionering, kan en jämförelse mellan dessa två stommaterial vara relevant. Frågan som då kan ställas är hur en KL-trästomme dimensioneras enligt Eurokoderna och vadskillnaderna och dess konsekvenser på boarea och byggnadshöjd, i jämförelse med en betongstomme. Genom att för en byggnad göra om dess betongstomme till en KL-trästomme så kunde dessa skillnader undersökas. KL-trä eller korslimmat trä är ett skivmaterial av sammanlimmade brädor, där vartannat lager liggerkorslagt mot föregående lager. Denna uppbyggnad ger KL-träskivan bärförmåga i två riktningar ochkan användas som vägg- och bjälklagselement. KL-trä är ett stommaterial med låg vikt, jämfört medexempelvis betong, och har precis som andra lätta konstruktioner utmaningar med att uppfylla ljudkrav. Trä som utsätts för brand brinner med en konstant hastighet. Då kolskiktet som bildas har enisolerande effekt, brinner det med en låg hastighet. Detta gör det enkelt att dimensionera för brand. KL-trä har mindre fuktbetingade rörelser jämfört med konstruktionsvirke. Handlingar för en referensbyggnad med betongstomme erhölls av Kåver & Mellin. Med målet attbehålla byggnadens ursprungliga arkitektoniska kvaliteter utformades en ny byggnad i KL-trä därhänsyn togs till krav för bärighet, ljud, värmeisolering, brand och fukt. Resultatet som presenteras är en metod för dimensionering av KL-träväggar och -bjälklag. Därefterföljer en uppställning av typdetaljer för väggar och bjälklag, dess ingående material och till vilken gradkraven uppfyllts. Förslag till anslutningar mellan utvalda byggnadsdelar visas. Boarean minskade iförhållande till referensbyggnaden. Byggnadhöjden alternativt rumshöjden påverkas negativt. KL-träbyggnaden visades väga 118 ton mindre än referensbyggnaden. Vid val av KL-trästomme måste hänsyn tas till den ökade tjockleken av lägenhetsskiljande bjälklagväggar som kan leda till minskad area och ökad byggnadshöjd, och dess ekonomiska konsekvenser. Den påtagliga skillnaden i vikt är betydelsefull vid grundläggning och hantering av vindlaster.

Entering this thesis is to design a multifunctional urban / residential building in the complex topographical situation foot street bakery. The aim was to understand the functioning of the organism, its development potential and current problems. Solved plot is located in the heart of Old Brno at the intersection of Pekařská and Anenské. The concept of development should be based on a triangular plot, and its position in relation to the nearby center. The concept of functional layout must respect the basic operational and functional requirements, especially sunlight residential space and solving noise pollution. The aim of this proposal is viable urban area and a functional recovery, which evaluates and develops the character entered. Urban and architectural concept development triangular tip should reflect and complement the character of the site appropriately and its existing buildings.
