Therefore, its seeks to elucidate the problem of research starting from the following central question: Taking some Brazilian productions, what aspects of the culture of childhood were represented in them? In general, the objective is to understand the aspects represented by the film industry like the culture of the childhood and identify how these elements have been used in films. The first point to be emphasized is the understanding of the object of study in its conceptual terms, highlighted primarily by authors like Sarmento and Corsaro, based on four structural axes of the cultures of childhood (interactivity, playfulness, the fantasy of reality and reiteration), which this study aims to elucidate, together with other elements that mark the lives of children and the ways they relate to contemporary society. The second point refers to the way the cinematographic representation in Brazil apprehends this culture. Despite the numerous possibilities of reading a movie, movies will be taken here as the field of apprehension of representations of the culture of childhood from a critical perspective, that is, of understanding them as ways of orchestration of reality. Academic studies, such as thesis and dissertations, registered in the thesis database of Capes in the past 10 years (2002-2012) have been analyzed so we could have a considerable idea at what had been produced in Brazil on the subject. With this survey, we have decided to research films produced in Brazil that addressed somehow the universe of children and their childhood. According to pre-established criteria, we have encountered four movies that made up the universe of this research: The Story of Me (O Contador de Histórias), The Year My Parents Went on Vacation (O Ano em que Meus Pais Sairam de Férias), In the Middle of the Street (No Meio da Rua) and Mutum (Mutum). So as to achieve the objectives defined in this work, we proceeded to the analysis of the content in the light of theoretical matrix of historical and dialectical materialism, which is based on the discussions of human production and its constituent links in history, movement, class contradictions and human action/activity. In general terms, the chapters of the dissertation go about topics that, articulated and situated in the historical, social and cultural human context, give a foundation to the proposed theme. The themes of the discussions of the chapters are: Human Culture and Culture of Childhood, Processes of Social Interaction of Children, Social Relations and Processes of Reiteration, and Playfulness and Fantasy of Reality.

No. of bitstreams: 1 LUANA FERREIRA BORGES.pdf: 1842406 bytes, checksum: a6baeece94c2d181a4cc4d8c70730994 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-08-23 / This dissertation has as object of study the corporal identity of the child in the routine of Child Education. Therefore, the following central question was proposed: Considering the routine of bathing and sleeping as moments of educational action in Child Education, how are the processes of autonomy or regulation of children's body identity in institutions of Goiânia? The aim is to understand the routine of Child Education, particularly the routine of bathing and sleep, as activities that can allow the construction of children's body identity, marked by the autonomy or regulation of this identity. In this sense, the following references were used for the field studies: Child and childhood: Sarmento (2004), Kuhlmann Jr. (2010), Siqueira (2011); Body and Corporality: Arroyo (2012), Baptista (2013), Daolio (1995), Foucault (2014); Child Education: Barbosa (2006), Batista (1998), Oliveira (2005), among others. As a research methodology, the observation of sleep and bath moments was chosen, in a total of 20 occurrences reported in logbooks. Interviews with the teachers responsible for groupings were also accomplished to understand the relationship between theory and practice conceptions. From the point of view of the method of analysis, some of the foundations of dialectical and historical materialism were still used as references for discussions about human production and meaning in history, movement, contradictions classes, and action/activity among human beings. The data were organized in three chapters, being that the first of which addresses issues of the historical and social dimensions of the child and the body. The second takes as reference the voices of the teachers to understand the conceptions that implicate the research themes. In the third chapter, issues that involve the construction of the children's bodily identity in their relationship with times, spaces, materials and relationships within the educational action of bathing and sleeping are apprehended. The results of this work indicated that latent practices centered on the adult figure that guide, normalize, regulate and control children's body actions during the bath and sleep routine. Thus, the process of the construction of the corporal identity is established under the bases of the regulation, and not of the autonomy. However, these results were only apprehended in view of the precarious conditions under which the moments of sleep and bathing in the studied institutions took place. This indicates that the material and concrete conditions also determine the way the conceptions are constituted by the teachers. Finally, it is understood that this work enabled to return to the meaning and meaning of sleep and bath routine in Child Education, considering the need to redirect its role in educational practice, focusing on the processes of child autonomy.

Two analytical axes guide the reflection: first, the reconstitution and position taken in relation to the debate about childhood and tensions between some trends that advocate its "disappearance" and others that seek to analyze the changes inherent in contemporary conditions. The second axis concerns the mediations undertaken by the family, friends, school and by their own conceptions of the world that allow children to elaborate and re-elaborate - negotiate senses and meanings related to what they consume, not necessarily in an identical way as that the hegemonic media portrays. Although the cultural industry, with its contents and means of strong appeal and power of seduction, suggests lifestyles, the child, when making choices, does so mediated by repertoires and values obtained from their socialization process. The concepts contained in the British and Latin Americans cultural studies were used as theoretical-methodological references, through which it becomes possible to investigate the cultural context and the family, such as instances of mediation in the child's relationship with the media, and the need to understand the culture as everyday practice. Guidelines for outreach programmes aimed at middle–childhood children in a resource–poor Western Cape community / Fourie, L.

Fourie, Lianca January 2011
In South Africa there are great polarities in terms of needs in resource–poor communities versus communities with available resources. This is evident during visits to Sir Lowry's Pass Village and when available statistics on trends in the community are taken into account. A potentially valuable resource in resource–poor communities is outreach programmes by a faith–based organisation (FBO) such as Jabulani Africa Ministries (JAM). JAM is a Christian FBO with a strong community focus. This study focuses on the resource–poor community of Sir Lowry's Pass Village, situated in the Helderberg Basin in the Western Cape. Sir Lowry's Pass Village is just one of a few resource–poor communities to whom JAM reaches out on a weekly basis since through their outreach programme aimed at middle–childhood children. The aim of this study was to explore and describe the content of this outreach programme of JAM in Sir Lowry's Pass Village aimed at middle–childhood children in order to provide guidelines to more specifically target the needs of the particular group of children. Data were collected from various sources according to principles of participatory action research. Data were organised through thematic data analysis to identify themes. Two core themes emerged; one theme is a mutual lack of understanding of the broader field by JAM members and the target of their interventions, middle–childhood children. The other theme centred on the moral value system of the particular group of children. The central theoretical argument of this study is that outreach programmes by faith–based organisations (such as JAM) in resource–poor communities should be directed as effectively as possible to meet the needs of middle–childhood children. / http://hdl.handle.net//10394/7006 / Thesis (M.A. (Psychology))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2012.
