Significant Events in Psychotherapy from the Viewpoint of Transgender Clients

This study examined the hindering and helpful events that transgender and gender-nonconforming Ontarians experienced in therapy. To explore descriptive accounts of these experiences, we employed a systematic and rigorous investigation using the significant events framework and thematic analysis to interpret findings. Eleven participants underwent semi-structured interviews, providing rich accounts of their recent therapy experiences alongside their contexts and impacts. From these interview transcripts, we constructed eight major themes relevant to the research question: (1) Helpful and Hindering Relational Gestures; (2) Expectations about the Therapist’s Role; (3) Therapist’s Perception of Transness; (4) Topics in Therapy; (5) Significant Relational-Emotional Experiences; (6) Significant Event Impacts on the Client; (7) Client Processes in Understanding Significant Therapy Events; and (8) Contexts. Implications for therapeutic work are discussed.

This diploma thesis focuses on the care for persons with AD and the limits of care for these persons in a regular program facility. For several years already, the life expectancy has been increasing. However, this relates to the fact of increasing number of people suffering from diseases connected especially with the end of one's life, AD being no exception. This diploma thesis consists of theoretical and empirical parts. The aim of the theoretical part was to study and then analyse professional literature related to the topic. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided in three chapters. The main aim of the thesis was to find out, whether regular program facilities are capable of taking care of a client with dementia. Partial aims were to discover in which areas the employees of the regular program facility feel the strain while taking care of a person with dementia and how this client is perceived by other clients. While collecting data for the empirical part of the thesis, qualitative survey, inquiry and semi-structured interview were used as the methods of choice. The prepared questions were divided in five groups, making a total of 32. Through the survey I've found the regular program facilities able to take care of clients with AD. Since living together of clients with and without AD is possible, although problematic, it burdens the caring personnel, who see the most common problem in the regular program facility in a lack of time for clients, for taking care of them and communicating with them, and also in a small number of staff compared to the number of clients. According to my survey, the employees of a regular program facility mostly perceive situations connected with changing behaviour of clients with AD as stressful. This includes wandering of clients, their aggressiveness, the need of a different daily regime of a client with AD (sleep, diet) and complains on the behaviour of clients with AD from those without the disease. The employees are also under stress from the communication with clients with AD. I've also learned that clients without AD, according to the caring staff, perceive the clients with AD as problematic, they know that those receive more attention from the personnel and some clients with AD disturb other clients. However, living together of both groups is possible. I suppose that the number of patients with AD plays a part here, while it's not high in a regular program facility, and therefore clients with AD don't disrupt business as usual in the facility. From the empirical part of the thesis, following hypothesis can be made: The regular program facilities will take care of the clients with AD better, when the number of caring staff increases. The suggested hypothesis needs to be verified through a higher number of respondents. I assume that this thesis can serve as a source of information to both lay public and experts in the field of care for persons suffering from AD.

Denna studie syftar till att beskriva prestandatest av feta klienter, ibland också kallade skrivbordsapplikationer. Studien syftar även till att kartlägga testverktyg som kan användas för att utföra prestandatest av feta klienter och att identifiera vilka egenskaper som anses vara viktiga kriterier för dessa testverktyg. Undersökningen är skapad som en fallstudie som undersökningsstrategi där fallets utgångspunkt är Trafikverkets behov men undersökning och dess resultat kan även appliceras på andra verksamheter där testarbete utförs. Både kvalitativ och kvantitativ datainsamling användes i undersökningen genom intervjuer och dokumentstudier samt enkätformulär. Då insamlat data i undersökningen är av både kvalitativ och kvantitativ form så användes också en blandning av en kvalitativ tematisk analys och kvantitativ dataanalys. En del av analysen är en utvärdering av ett testverktygsurval mot sammanställda kriterier, en kriteriebaserad utvärderingsmetod. Tillvägagångssättet för val och utvärdering av testverktyg som tillämpats genom studien är baserat på tidigare befintliga teorier som funnits genom litteraturstudier. Litteraturstudierna har även stått till grund för att definiera undersökningens centrala begrepp och bidrar till resultat genom en jämförelse med insamlat data. Resultatet från undersökningen bidrar med ett beslutsunderlag för verksamheter som står inför ett val av testverktyg för prestandatest av feta klienter och en utvärdering av dessa innan licenser införskaffas. Undersökningen bidrar även med en karakterisering av prestandatest av feta klienter. I just detta fall var de mest passande testverktygen för syftet HP LoadRunner samt två testverktyg från eggPlant i kombination (eggPlant Functional och eggPlant Performance). / The aim of this study is to describe performance testing on thick clients, sometimes also referred to as desktop applications. Another aim with this study is to map out a selection of testing tools that can be used for performance testing of thick clients and to identify what qualities that is considered to be important criteria for these testing tools. The study is based on the research strategy called case study where the case is grounded the needs from Trafikverket but the results from this study could be applied on other business organizations that works with testing. Both qualitative and quantitative data collecting methods where used in this study, in the form och interviews, document studies and questionnaires. Since the collected data in the study where in both qualitative and quantitative form the use of a mix between a qualitative thematical data analysis and a quantitative data analysis had to be done. A part of the analysis was an evaluation on a selection of testing tools towards a compiled list of criteria, as an evaluation method based on criteria. The course of action for choosing and evaluation a testing tool that has been applied throughout the study is based on preexisting theories that has been found through reviews of literature. The reviews of literature have also been the ground for defining the central concepts of the study and contributes to the result by comparing what’s been found in literature to the collected data. The result of the study contributes with a basis for decision for companies and organizations that is in the process of getting a testing tool for performance testing thick clients och how to evaluate these before obtaining the testing tool licenses. The study also contributes with a characterization of performance testing thick clients. In this particular case, the most suitable testing tools came to be HP LoadRunner and also two testing tools from eggPlant combined (eggPlant Functional and eggPlant Performance).

The study sought to determine ideas, beliefs or images clients have as a result of how they see or understand HIV/AIDS. The major inferences drawn from this study are that clients still need information on the rights of HIV/AIDS client and the immune system. Výchova dětí v ústavní výchově / Upbringing of children in the facilities for providing institutional education

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse the influence of the concept of the institutional care in children's homes on clients. The introduction chapter provides the description of the psychological condition of the clients and how it is influenced by the institutional upbringing. The following chapters deal with the realization of the state education in children's homes and with the description of the system of the intitutional care and its development. The research has found out how a group of clients evaluates the changes in the concept of the institutional care and how this changes come into operation in their own life. The research was based on the immediate observation, analysis of the records and conversations with clients. The final evaluation of the research presents recommendations for further development of the improvement of the children care in the institutional care.

Master Thesis Eva Königsmarková Specific approach to the clients within psychotherapeutic relationship built by the body- oriented psychotherapists as one of the main aspect of their work Abstract For the time being, body-oriented psychotherapy is not commonlly used in the Czech Republic. Moreover, specialized literature provides mainly information about individual branches, where psychotherapy works with the body, but a complex picture is lacking. Therefore, the master thesis tries to address body-oriented psychotherapy comprehensively. Its theoretical part defines general aspects of and introduces practices used in this branch, presents its ethical principles and names several studies, which were carried out in this field. Individual therapeutical approaches are described in the conclusion. The empirical part is based on research, which maps the means of body-oriented psychotherapists. Through interviews with five psychotherapists and analysis of the interviews, where grounded theory is applied, we discover that the key aspect used in the work is a specific approach towards the clients, which is decisive for the existence of a psychotherapeutical relationship between them and the client. The significant control of inflation, creating new job opportunities are factors that directly interfere with the purposes and the need to take credit. The study sought to explore and identify the determining factors in the increase of numbers of defaulters with the growth of credit to individuals in Guinea-Bissau. The research aims to contribute to a consistent model for the analysis of risk assessment of credit to individuals that fits the social and economic situation in Guinea-Bissau. To facilitate the review process for evaluating credit risk models were apresented Serasa, Magalhães and Mario and JOS developed bay Santos and Famá, considering a number of variables and parameters. To accomplish the purpose of this study, we addressed the fundamental processes of credit analysis (subjective and objective), regulatory and overview of the credit industry in Guinea-Bissau, its evolution, interest rates, inflation and GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in Guinea-Bissau. The presentation of the proposed model (2 JOS Credit Scoring) and its applicability in a sample of 200 clients drawn from the loan portfolio of the four commercial banks studied in Guinea-Bissau, logistic regression (Logit) yielded a rate adjustment of 54,70% by Nagelkerke index, or is, the model variables together contribute to the explanation of up to 54,70% of the increase in delinquencies in Guinea-Bissau. In Brazil, the same model was tested on a sample of a mid-sized financial institution, the result generated a rate adjustment of 81,90%, or is, the variables of the model, together, contribute to explaining up to 81,90% increase in default. But even with the moderate rate of success of the model is essential that banks in Guinea-Bissau to make continuous reassessment of the model, considering not only the selection and weighting of internal variables (non-systemic risks), as well as the inclusion of events external (systemic risk), which are directly related to income and payment capacity of borrowers / O crescimento de crediários em Guiné-Bissau no período estudado de 2005 a 2010 pode ser explicado pela relativa estabilidade econômica, apesar de algumas instabilidades políticas. O controle significativo da inflação, a criação de novas oportunidades de empregos são fatores que interferem diretamente nos propósitos e na necessidade de se tomar crédito. O estudo buscou explorar e identificar os fatores determinantes no aumento de números de inadimplentes com o crescimento de crédito às pessoas físicas em Guiné-Bissau. A pesquisa pretende-se contribuir com um modelo consistente de análise de avaliação de risco de crédito às pessoas físicas que se adéqua à realidade social e econômica da Guiné-Bissau. Facteurs de contingence dans la mesure de satisfaction clients / Contingency factors in customer satisfaction survey

Si au cours des vingt dernières années la pratique en matière de mesure barométrique de la satisfaction clients s’est largement développée auprès des entreprises, la fiabilité des indicateurs de performance issus de ces mesures n’est pas forcément maitrisée. La satisfaction comme indicateur de performance est aujourd’hui admise par les managers, néanmoins son utilisation au quotidien pose quelques questions, notamment celle qui touche la capacité des indicateurs produit à partir de la mesure barométrique d’évaluer fidèlement la performance. La question théorique que nous traitons dans cette thèse concerne l’étude de la représentativité et de la sensibilité des indicateurs de satisfaction face à l’existence de certaines sources exogènes (facteurs sociodémographique et géographique) que nous avons qualifiées de facteurs de contingence. Notre recherche repose sur l’examen des indicateurs de satisfaction lorsque ces derniers sont utilisés comme des instruments de comparaison entre magasins : d’un point de vue transversal (comparaison entre unité de gestion) et d’un autre longitudinale (l’évolution dans le temps des indicateurs). Par le biais de trois propositions, nous avons confronté une série de facteurs de contingence au fonctionnement des indicateurs satisfaction afin de connaitre si les indicateurs remplissent bien leurs rôles. Pour arriver aux résultats, un cadre théorique explicatif de l’action des facteurs de contingence et des analyses statistiques basées sur les procédures bayésiennes pour le calcul de l’importance ont été mis en place. Les données d’analyse sont issues de deux baromètres de satisfaction. Les cumuls en termes d’individus interrogés dans chaque baromètre sont de 175000 individus pour le premier et de 40000 individus pour chaque trimestre (16 trimestres sont disponibles) pour le second. Les conclusions de nos travaux pointent la défaillance de l’indicateur de satisfaction issu des baromètres à concorder avec les exigences des instruments de contrôle de performance. Le tout avec des actions importantes des facteurs de contingence type géographique. / Even if during the last twenty years the practice of barometric measurement of customer satisfaction has developed significantly among companies, the reliability of performance indicators derived from these measures has not necessarily been mastered. Satisfaction as a performance indicator is now accepted by managers however, its everyday use poses some issues, including those affecting the ability of barometric indicators to accurately assess performance. The theoretical question we address in this thesis is the study of the representation and the sensitivity of indicators of satisfaction which are affected by the existence of certain exogenous sources (demographic and geographic factors), which we refer to as contingency factors. Our research is based on the review of indicators of satisfaction when they are used as instruments for comparing shops: on a transverse view (comparison between management units) and another longitudinal view (changes in time indicators). Through three proposals, we have looked for a series of contingency factors on operating satisfaction indicators to know if the indicators fulfill their roles. To achieve the results, an explanatory theoretical framework for action of contingency factors and statistical analysis based on the methods of calculating fiducial-Bayesian importance were established. Data analyses are based on two satisfaction surveys: accumulations in terms of individuals interviewed in each barometer with 175 000 individuals in the first one and 40 000 individuals for each quarter (16 quarters are available) in the second one. The conclusion of our work shows the failure of the barometric satisfaction indicator to match the requirements of theperformance monitoring tools. The most important of these being the geographical contingency factors.
