Využití nástroje MATLAB Coder pro automatické generování C kódu pro mikrokontroléry dsPIC / Application of MATLAB Coder for automatic generation of C code for dsPIC microcontrollers

Mácha, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
Generating C code from MATLAB can be a powerful tool for a wide range of engineering problems. Especially in cases where MATLAB excels, including matrix operations and some of the built-in functions, code conversion may represent a significant assistance in their development. The aim of this master's thesis is to explore the possibilities of generating C code using MATLAB Coder App. As the documentation for MATLAB Coder was not found sufficient a theoretical basis for the use of this tool was introduced along with simple examples of possible applications. Next, code generation for controlling a laboratory DC motor using a microcontroller dsPIC was made automatic and controlled directly from a single MATLAB script. Individual steps were described to supplement existing documentation and to allow for an easy use. Finally, selected functions were tested for code generation. As a result, certain limitations can be outlined, as well as suitability of both the created tool and the MATLAB Coder App.

Compression, analyse et visualisation des signaux physiologiques (EEG) appliqués à la télémedecine / Compression, analysis and visualization of EEG signals applied to telemedicine

Dhif, Imen 13 December 2017 (has links)
Due to the large amount of EEG acquired over several days, an efficient compression technique is necessary. The lack of experts and the short duration of epileptic seizures require the automatic detection of these seizures. Furthermore, a uniform viewer is mandatory to ensure interoperability and a correct reading of transmitted EEG exams. The certified medical image WAAVES coder provides high compression ratios CR while ensuring image quality. During our thesis, three challenges are revealed : adapting WAAVES coder to the compression of the EEG signals, detecting automatically epileptic seizures in an EEG signal and ensure the interoperability of the displays of EEG exams. The study of WAAVES shows that this coder is unable to remove spatial correlation and to compress directly monodimensional signals. Therefore, we applied ICA to decorrelate signals, a scaling to resize decimal values, and image construction. To keep a diagnostic quality with a PDR less than 7%, we coded the residue. The proposed compression algorithm EEGWaaves has achieved CR equal to 56. Subsequently, we proposed a new method of EEG feature extraction based on a new calculation model of the energy expected measurement (EAM) of EEG signals. Then, statistical parameters were calculated and Neural Networks were applied to classify and detect epileptic seizures. Our method allowed to achieve a better sensitivity up to 100% and an accuracy of 99.44%. The last chapter details the deployment of our multiplatform display of physiological signals by meeting the specifications established by doctors. The main role of this software is to ensure the interoperability of EEG exams between healthcare centers.

MODERNIZATION OF THE MOCK CIRCULATORY LOOP: ADVANCED PHYSICAL MODELING, HIGH PERFORMANCE HARDWARE, AND INCORPORATION OF ANATOMICAL MODELS

Taylor, Charles 09 May 2013 (has links)
A systemic mock circulatory loop plays a pivotal role as the in vitro assessment tool for left heart medical devices. The standard design employed by many research groups dates to the early 1970's, and lacks the acuity needed for the advanced device designs currently being explored. The necessity to update the architecture of this in vitro tool has become apparent as the historical design fails to deliver the performance needed to simulate conditions and events that have been clinically identified as challenges for future device designs. In order to appropriately deliver the testing solution needed, a comprehensive evaluation of the functionality demanded must be understood. The resulting system is a fully automated systemic mock circulatory loop, inclusive of anatomical geometries at critical flow sections, and accompanying software tools to execute precise investigations of cardiac device performance. Delivering this complete testing solution will be achieved through three research aims: (1) Utilization of advanced physical modeling tools to develop a high fidelity computational model of the in vitro system. This model will enable control design of the logic that will govern the in vitro actuators, allow experimental settings to be evaluated prior to execution in the mock circulatory loop, and determination of system settings that replicate clinical patient data. (2) Deployment of a fully automated mock circulatory loop that allows for runtime control of all the settings needed to appropriately construct the conditions of interest. It is essential that the system is able to change set point on the fly; simulation of cardiovascular dynamics and event sequences require this functionality. The robustness of an automated system with incorporated closed loop control logic yields a mock circulatory loop with excellent reproducibility, which is essential for effective device evaluation. (3) Incorporating anatomical geometry at the critical device interfaces; ascending aorta and left atrium. These anatomies represent complex shapes; the flows present in these sections are complex and greatly affect device performance. Increasing the fidelity of the local flow fields at these interfaces delivers a more accurate representation of the device performance in vivo.

This work describes the study of voice quality in IP networks based on a revision of quality of service (QoS) protocols and mechanisms and aspects of the system impact associated with the presence or absence of them; revision of the diverse evaluation methods of voice quality with emphasis in the automatic methods (objective and repetitive) used to analyze the effects in the voice due to diverse factors presented in packet networks, such as packet loss, delay and jitter, as well as the proper voice coding at low rate; revision of the main protocols of signalling for implementation of voice over IP (VoIP) or IP telephony, considering its strong and weak points with regard to implementation facility, scalability and adequacy for some network applications and quality of service (QoS) and accomplishment of tests in simulated and experimental IP networks. The main objective is the characterization of voice service in IP networks taking into account the effect of the network factors in call set-up (connection) and in voice quality . For the simulation of the IP network the Shunra¿s Cloud software was used where it is possible to deal with, in isolated form, the influence of packet loss, fixed delay, delay variation ( jitter), as well as the composed effect of packet loss and jitter. Solutions to such effects are investigated in experimental tests. Results of system simulations are presented and discussed. Degradations in voice due to such effects are evaluated and a practical method to solve them is considered. The experimental results demonstrate the technical feasibility of using voice over IP (or IP telephony) by service providers, as well as private corporations being able to forward voice and data over the same converged IP network / Mestrado / Telecomunicações e Telemática / Mestre em Engenharia Elétrica
